Hop-up Bucking Debate
Over the winter and spring I’ve been testing various Hop-up Buckings as part of a YouTube review project. So in an attempt to make a fair review, I thought I would try to get some community input to add to the equation, rather than simply relying solely on my own experiences.
So far I have tested the following buckings • A+ Studio Hop-up • Angel Custom Sniper with V-Shape Teeth (Hard version) • Angel Custom Sniper with V-Shape Teeth (Soft version) • ARES High Strength Silicon Hop Up (70 Degree) • Element Silicon Hop-Up • FALCON High Speed Double Point (Hard version) • G&P Rubber Bucking • Guarder 70° Bucking • Lonex Bucking • King Arms H.Q.A. • MadBull 60-Degree Shark (Red Version) • MadBull 60-Degree Shark (Blue Version) • MadBull Fishbone (Rubber) • MadBull Fishbone (Silicon) • Matrix Fierce Bull 75 Degree • Prometheus Air Seal Chamber Packing (Hard version) • SHS Hop Up Bucking (White) If anyone has any input on any of these buckings pleas tell me about your experiences, (especial if you’ve had problems with any of the above buckings). Any feedback would be great as I’m trying to make a truly comprehensive review. Furthermore I have tried the following specialty spacers. So Anny input on the spacers would be useful as well. • PolarStar (PCS) Concave Spacer • Angel Custom H-Spacer • Echo1 Knob Spacer • Element Hop Cushion • FALCON Stainless Steel BB Stabilizer • Deep Fire Hop Cushion BTW if anyone wants my input on any of the bucking or spacers I’ve been testing feel free to PM me, as I will not answer questions posted on this thread as anything I say is likely to taint my study. Thanks in Advance for any feed-back. Phantom Fox Last edited by Phantom Fox; 04-21-2012 at 12:15 PM. |

Hey Fox, these tests are all in a controlled environment, correct? I wanted to make sure the same barrel, gun, (etc....you know the drill) was used for a nice , UN-biased review. Other than that, there are some other buckings and nubs you might want to try.

The reason for using two separate guns is that I want to test how the cooling stress of a GBB and the heating stress of an AEGs affect the bucking differently. Pleas note again that there was no swapping of buckings between guns as I purchased two of every type. Oh… and all tests are being conducted with Maruzen APS2 0.29g BBs Last edited by Phantom Fox; 04-21-2012 at 11:24 AM. |

Just an FYI, but using CO2 may decrease the accuracy of your tests because of the temperature drop between shots. You run into the same problems as testing gas blowback pistols. For best results, use a standard AEG with electric gearbox and fixed strength spring. This will give you the most reliable muzzle velocity and will keep the barrel and hop bucking temperature contant.
Good luck with your test. |

I'm extremely curious how effective is the angel custom hard bucking for semi auto shots. -is it more consistent because of the teeth that hold the bb in place -does bbs fly straighter for a longer duration compare to other bucking? |

But I'd be very interested in seeing this video as well. Have you considered trying the different harnesses of each brand? I.E. 50*, 60*, 70* Madbull, 50*, 60*, 70* Guarder, etc. And have you tested each bucking with the same spacer, different ones, or?
