“When Gasoline hit 10.00 a gallon stateside that’s when all hell broke loose. Tensions between nations that had been simmering for years boiled over into one massive screw job that left us all wondering what the hell happened. Conventional wisdom said that this would have turned into a nuke fight with the nation that had the most tankers left floating crowned the victor of a losing game. For a minute there, conventional wisdom almost won the day. At the last minute a global accord was reached in a gesture of unprecedented amount of cooperation and concession. The Zurich pact of 2015 globalized the resources that remained in this ball of rock. Sure it isn’t perfect and for a year or so it went over like a lead balloon, especially here, but people realized it was better to not be dead and have a country left to live in rather than a slag heap with bragging rights. Every year a team of the best and brightest combat troops, survival experts and mercenaries from each region compete in The Crucible. The better you do, the more fuel, pure water and energy your country gets for the year. Think of it as kind of our way to blow off steam and get those bragging rights that we were willing to nuke ourselves over. It may not be perfect, but it’s keeping us going till we figure out how to get this right.”

Out of the Box Industries is proud to present Operation Crucible. Set 7 years in the future when global resources are at the breaking point, Operation Crucible pits four groups against each other in a battle for resource supremacy. These factions are: The United Continental Americas, the United European Territories, the Eastern Soviet Alliance and the Indo-Asian Compact. Each faction will have a different uniform requirement as well as special rules to represent the different training each region provides its competitors.

The event will consist of 23 ½ hours of non-stop airsoft. Play will continue through the night with traditional combat missions ending at Midnight and Covert Operations carrying through until dawn before the fight continues the second day.

Factions:

U.C.A. (United Continental Americas) 50 player maximum: From the frozen Canadian North to the tip of South America the Continental Unification treaty centralized power in the continental United States. With a large agricultural production zone and abundant natural energy resources in the form of Coal and Natural Gas as well as lithium from South America the U.A.C. is a vital member of the Zurich Pact. It also houses some of the loudest voices against globalized resources honoring a proud tradition of resistance and freedom.

Uniform: Woodland, Marpat, Cadpat, ATACS – FG. Players must wear either a set of blue armbands (provided) or a BLUE top to signify U.A.C. membership.

U.E.T. (United European Territories) 50 player maximum: In addition to holding much of the world’s wealth in the Swiss banking system as well as containing some of the world’s most powerful economies the true power of the U.E.T. lies in the annexation of Iraq and Saudi Arabia into their territorial borders. While oil reserves are not what they once were, the Saudi Empires reserves are still enough to keep the U.E.T. in a position of power and relative security despite their contribution quotas.

Uniform: 3 Color Desert, Multi-Cam, ATACS, Despat. Players must wear either a set of RED armbands (provided) or a red top to signify U.E.T. membership.

E.S.A. (Eastern Soviet Alliance) 50 player maximum: By far one of the largest unified territories the Eastern Soviet Alliance covers much of the old Soviet Satellite nations as well as the Island of Japan. Covering a massive amount of land the E.S.A. is home to some of the most vicious and hearty competitors of the Crucible. Survival is not just and art form, but for the E.S.A. it is a way of life.

Uniform: Solid OD bottoms with either WHITE armbands (provided) or a white top.

I.A.C. (Indo-Asian Compact) 50 players maximum: The combination of two of the most populated nations on the planet, India and China, created many strategic advantages as well as many new challenges. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your view) both societies were well versed in maximizing scant resources. While their citizens may not enjoy some of the same luxuries that other territories have they are a highly organized and disciplined group of men and women.

Uniform: Solid Tan or Solid Black Pants with either a set of black armbands (provided) or a black top.

Schedule of Events:

Saturday, June 9th

Day 1:
1400 – 1600 – Registration, check in and chrono
1600 – 1630 – Rules briefing and deployment
1630 – 0000 – Afternoon scenarios and Night Operations.

Sunday, June 10th

Day 2:
0001 – 0600 – Covert Night Operations (special rules governing missions will be given to commanders. Safe area will be set up for those who wish to sleep in peace, but the rest of the field WILL be a hot zone).
0600 – 0900 – Rest Break, re-supply Breakfast.
0900 – 1600 – Day two scenarios and operations. (Goggles on)

Food and other supplies must be brought with you onto the field and arrangements may be made with the owner to purchase food and have it delivered via “airdrop” at a pre-arranged time. That is not 100% but it is safe to say that bringing your own food is a good idea. Since players will be sleeping in the field sleeping bags and/or tents should you chose are also recommended. Remember, after midnight the game is still on however due to safety concerns at this time combat will end at midnight and resume the following morning. Throughout the evening there will be several “covert” operations that will focus on stealth and recon to accomplish their goals rather than firepower and brute force.

Specialized Roles – One of the elements that sets Crucible apart from a traditional event is that rather than having a set load out that players are limited to each player is free to choose what role they would like to play rather than filling a limited number of specialized roles. Each player will choose their own specialty, each representing the background the player comes from as well as what specialized weaponry, equipment or abilities they will be able to utilize. A basic loadout will be used as a base for all players while the role selected will add extra equipment to be carried onto the field representing specialized training or access to resources.


The basic loadout for each player regardless of specialization is as follows.
- Primary Weapon (Rifle or Submachine Gun) with 6 Magazines fully loaded for primary weapon
- Sidearm/Secondary Weapon (Pistol or Shotgun) with any number of fully loaded magazines/shells.
- 5,000 rounds of loose ammunition
- Up to 2 grenades (thunder b’s, tornados etc.)
- 1 bandage (used for medic)

Additionally players may choose 1 of the following specialties and indicate it on their RSVP.

1. Infantry Specialist – From infantry to special operations these are the basic foot soldiers of any Territorial Crucible team.
a. 6 Extra Magazines for primary weapon fully loaded
b. May carry an M203 or other type of mounted grenade launcher
c. Up to 6 rifle launched grenades and 4 thrown grenades
d. 5,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

2. Combat Medic – Soldiers whose specialty is ensuring that wounded soldiers get back in the fight as quick as possible
a. 2 Extra Magazines for primary weapon fully loaded
b. Medic Bag with 20 bandages
c. May use advanced medical rules
d. 1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

3. Weapons Specialist – From support gunners to anti-tank experts these soldiers carry heavy firepower to the fight
a. Must replace their primary weapon with a support gun with 2 fully loaded box magazines
b. May carry a shoulder mounted rocket launcher and up to 4 rockets
c. May use demolition expert rules
d. 1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

4. Recon Expert – These are soldiers who specialize in operating in small groups and providing critical intelligence to their commanders
a. Must replace their primary weapon with a bolt action rifle
b. May carry a laser designator (green 5w laser for marking targets)
c. May use fire support rules
d. 1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

5. Grease Monkey – If it flies, drives, floats or hovers the grease monkeys are experts at not only keeping vehicles operational but crewing them as well.
a. 2 Extra Magazines for primary weapon fully loaded
b. Will be issued a toolpack
c. May use mechanical expert rules
d. 1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

6. Engineer – Civilian or military these men and women are responsible for locating and harvesting resources for their faction.
a. May use a SMG or PDW as their secondary weapon with a maximum of 3 extra fully loaded magazines in place of a sidearm or shotgun
b. Carries resource extraction equipment
c. May use the resource hunter rules
d. 1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition

7. Communications Specialist – Experts at coordinating communications between forces as well as running interference and sabotage.
a. May use a SMG or PDW as their secondary weapon with a maximum of 3 extra fully loaded magazines in place of a sidearm or shotgun
b. Carries communications suite
c. May use the electronic warfare rules
d.1,000 extra rounds of loose ammunition


Please keep in mind when RSVPing for this event that this is a 24 hour non-stop game. Players will be expected to adequately supply themselves for the ordeal including packing your own food, extra water, sleeping arrangements be it a tent or sleeping bag, extra batteries etc. This event is for the well prepared so please keep that in mind when you register.

Hey man, I'd take a vacation to the mountains over airsoft any day, you deserve it my friend . I have been tinkering with a few of the special rules and am working to allow each player to customize their role to their style of play. I will be looking for commanders for each of the factions, if interested PM me and we'll take it from there. Jeeps, night play, "food drops" and 23 1/2 of straight play should make for a great two days of airsoft!!!!

I am happy to announce that after conferring with the field owner and the powers that be there will be live fire throughout the entire night portion of the game. Missions will be given to commanders and there will be a limited number of troops allowed outside the wire at any given time to limit the insanity of having potentially 200 players running around at 3am shooting each other silly .

The night ops will focus on stealth, coordination and general sabatoge/disruption. It will be highly advised that commanders assign guard rotations and perimeter security. There will be a "safe area" where players may camp and sleep without fear of live fire as well.
