Valley Creek Open Play, 03/01/09

Thanks to everyone who came out today. We have 58 people show up. While the sun was shining, it was still cold enough to claim several guns, and the wind certainly had a "bite" to it. There were a lot of new players! We definitely need to see more death rags next time, about half of green team didn't have any. There was a few problems here and there, which were addressed on field as they should be.

I posted the pictures I took here: http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/album.php?albumid=114

Wallace also took some pics, and I saw a few other cameras there today as well, so hopefully we will get to see those as well.

Wow, today made me feel old. The cold did a number on me! I had a good time and I hope everyone else did to. Great to see the new faces and the old friends.

I hope to see all of you at Red Dragon and back at our field next month!

just stopped by to pick up some gear from Sundown, but had a quick chance to see what AO has to offer...and I was pretty please. I realized that my old Stock Marui and CA arsenal is way underpowered for AO competition and will be looking into upgrading or getting some Chinese clones in the coming months.

What little I saw if the field looked really nice and quite a change of pace from what i was used to playing down south and hope to have a few more games in the area in the future...especially since the field is just a mile or two from my house, which must be payback for all the hours I have had to drive in the past.

Nice meeting AWOL and Sundown...you guys made me feel a little less ackward having never been on an AO field...thanks for that. I didnt stick around too long since I alot of honey-do work and the smell of the grilled burgers was driving me crazy

Hope to be more prepared to play for the next one and be able to get back into the swing of things.

-Point.

Thank you, Stormblade, for having us out and hosting a good (Edit:great) day of airsofting. Despite two of my batteries being claimed by the cold, I had a great time. About half way through I was tired of fighting guns and batteries going down and decided to shoot everyone with the camera. Here is about half of the pictures I took.

http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/album.php?albumid=115

I will upload the whole set to photobucket tommorrow. If anyone wants to see the rest let me know.

Great to meet a few people and see familar ones. Looking forward to a getting out a little more this year and meeting some more of you.

Great games green and tan.

As everyone else has said, props go out to Stormblade for hosting this event. We appreciate it. It was good to put some more names with faces today.

AWOL, I think you've got your daughter slightly paranoid when she's going against you. The whole time, she was expecting you to pop out of a shrub or hill and take the group out. lol

Can't wait to see everyone at the next event.

I spoke with you briefly during the game and stopped by your car after the event but I didn't mention my AO screen name. In the following picture that you took, I am the guy in the far left of the picture with the G36.

http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/pi...&pictureid=715

I was also the same guy that had the KWA M4 who's bbs were falling out of the barrel during chrono. (speaking of which, I wanted to talk to you about that)

Due to last minute duties, I only had 3 out of 5 of my crew show up today. One of which was "McDork". The other was the guy around my size in MARPAT.

Sapper, it was good to meet you. And bring that gun back by the store so they can take a look at it. The sooner the better.

Howdy! Nice to meet ya all, here are the photos I took. Please excuse some of my lousy pictures... I didn't have time to re-process any of the poorly exposed shots from the RAW files.

Oh and sorry for whoever lost their MRE, by the time I saw it the culprit is already half-done with your meal. Just hope he didn't eat the heating pack as well...

Cheers,

Wallace

I just wanted to say thanks to Stormblade for putting on an excellent event! We had a lot of fun and sorry to everyone that had a gun go down, that always sucks. But it looked like everyone had a great time despite that. I agree with Sapper, AWOL, your daughter is very paranoid of you shooting her! lol

Had a blast yesterday despite the cold and having to leave early with an exhausted player (me), a sleepy player, a sick player, and a broken gun. This was our first event and it was great fun, well organized, and everyone there was extremely cool and helpful. We are all looking at our next purchases so we don't end up leaving due to a down gun again.

Thanks for the advice on the SCAR Rocket

Thanks for hosting a fun time Stormblades.

Oh and last but not least, thanks to the land owner there and his family for letting us play there and fixing/serving us a great lunch. In all the time that I played paintball, I was never offered a hot lunch.

On behalf of team S.P.E.A.R., we had a great time yesterday. Props to Stormblade for starting on time and providing cheeseburgers and hotdogs for lunch. It was nice to finally see the field, and there was a great turnout for such a cold day. We will definitely be back at some point.

It ended up being colder than expected, and thus wreaked havoc on about half of the team guns. Batteries dying, gearboxes pooping, mags cracking, parts going missing.... it was almost as if you could hear the sweet sweet 'cha-ching' sound of $$ flying out of our pockets. But hey, that's airsoft for ya, right?

As said by my teammate above, thanks for providing another great day of Airsoft to those willing to attend. Valley Creek definatly has a different feel to it then other Ohio fields and its a good change. Glad I could finally make it out to one. I just wish we wouldn't have had as many problems as we had.

Good show guys.

Hilljacked - I'm not sure it is possible to shoot "too many bbs". Just think of it as great supressive fire..

Way too cold (weathermen must be liars) but fun anyway.

Special thanks for getting things started promptly.

Hope to see you later this month. Thanks,

it did come in handy putting all those heads down. I have found that it sucks making a big push with only one mag left. I actually had to use my sidearm twice!!!
I loved the fast paced games, but I am feeling it today.

Hats off to Stormblade, I like to thank your team for making our (Kentucky Marines) 1st organized event very enjoyable not even the chilly weather cold ruin the fun. The people & facility were fantastic and I'm glad we chose Valley Creek to break our cherry.
