Battle Front Open Play AAR - 1/4/09

After that game I was exhausted, all I could do was eat and sleep when I got home.

RabidRecon should be working on organizing next week, Im not sure what exactally is going on, I hear that there is supposed to be somthing big but have no idea.

Had a great time guys! Glad that we had an amazing turn out. Sounds like things got a little crazy after I left -haha. It was nice meeting alot of you in person!! Hopefully alot of you will be able to make it next week!

I got my first pistol kill! I'm so excited about that. It's a new pistol and winter had thus far prevented me from putting it to much use.

And it was a one in a million shot too. I shot in a window, through a building, out a window, and into another building, to hit someone who was in the bottom level of the Feurer bunker. And I'm lucky it hit on the first shot, because I never would have gotten a second.

Oh, it was beautiful. If nothing else had happened the entire rest of the day, I still would have gone home happy because of that. I also got to shoot my older brother. That was a dream come true.

Sorry about the friendly headshot Jim...I was in the building someone bumped my gun and I saw a guy outside standing RIGHT where you were, and when you get fogged its hard to tell the difference. And I was aiming for the chest, hopup.

My MP5 mag spring broke, which sucked. Ended up using the sniper all day, not the right games or weather to snipe.

Ms. Recon got three kills with a spring shotgun...Which I must say I liked alot. I can not wait until my pistol, midcaps, and BBs get here.

Sorry guys I probley wont make it up to battlefront starting next week, or the week after that due to money issues, but I am hoping to get up next week.

So, I've just uploaded the pictures I took onto my computer, but I'm not entirely sure how to post them for you guys to see. If anyone could help me out with this, that would be great. I don't want it to be one of those things where the game was six months ago and they still don't have the pics up.

Also, of course, many of you are in them, so if you have any objection to me posting a picture of you on the internet, please let me know.

I have to admit it's always a refreshing seeing a female airsofter. I also have to give her credit for playing in those boots.

Was a ton of fun. Alot more people showed up then I expected considering the so-so weather, cold, etc. I gotta admit, there was pretty much no cheating seen by me, the game was hosting in a rather good pace, allowed time for old friends and new to meet up and BS a bit while also getting out and playing 4-5 good solid games run on a decent time frame.

Great to meet a lot of new people, great to play beside and against a lot of new people. Thumbs up, can't wait till I have time to do it again.

I hurt from head to toe, I'm still out of breath simply from laughing, my suit is a sloppy, bur covered disaster and I DIDN'T TAKE A SINGLE PICTURE! For crying out loud, I came to run photography with the new Nikon, picked up the VSR and ended up going to town the rest of the day...

I must say, being the VIP was a blast (I was surely dressed for it.) Especially the first VIP game, where Red team managed to get me TO the bridge in the last thirty seconds, only to run into a yellow blockade. Talk about so close, yet so far. Great job to both teams, not only in that game, but all day.

Now excuse me, while I pass out.

Just being Ref for the VIP was fun in my opinion. I dunno, sometimes I just like to watch a game be played.

Having you as a personal ref was a pleasure. Everyone was commenting later in the day, on the "cool ref who knew all the Metal Gear jokes". I was trying to keep you entertained, and mess around with Yellow team at the same time. I swear, if that gent in the brown coveralls would have looked away one more time, I'd have been BALLSOUT AND GONE! The staircase wouldn't have mattered at that point. I had myself so hyped that I'd have taken the stairs half way and just jumped down through the window. Thankfully Red team shot him, and got me out of there before that happened. lol

Had a blast guys. Fun field, fun players. Looking forward to my next trip up there. Always good to play with friends.

Just a note on the side, though, for those of you who may be new or just uninformed: Shooting glasses aren't sufficient for protecting your eyes. Neither are chemistry goggles, or mesh goggles. Save yourself the money for when you have to fix your eyesight or get an eyepatch, and just buy a decent pair of goggles. Full-seal, ANSI rated goggles are the only way to go if you REALLY want to protect your eyes.

I know I'm repeating myself, but I had a blast! That had to be one of the best times I've had at Battlefront. Thanks to Cog for letting me use your battery ( buying it ). Like previously stated, I saw little cheating/ not calling hits. Big props to CHIEF a.k.a Browns a.k.a Mike for being the squad leader on yellow team. Cowboy and I will follow you anyday.

Yesterday was probably one of the best times I've had. Apart from being an idiot and firing at a friendly that is.

I had a few problems with hits not called, but that's what comes with using an SPR at max range. Although most of the time it was fine. I was pleased with it's first combat test. I should've had my SD5, but someone forgot it. The games moved along at a good pace, until the random break. Although the non-lazy people made the best of it.

LOL, well, it hit me and I instinctively yelled "hit!". I didn't know where it had came from until you told me it bounced off the tower, but at that point I couldn't really retract that I had already yelled hit.

Oh well, I wasn't far from respawn. I tend to err on the side of caution!
