Op: Valley Creek Intro

Thanks everyone for coming out and enduring the cold. I had a great time and saw a lot of really good sportsmanship. We had 21 people out which is pretty good considering the weather and some bad roads.

I would like to thank Doug for allowing us to play at his place. He and I are very interested in hearing your feedback regarding the field, and what we can do to make it better.

I feel sorry for those who didn't come out because of the weather. It was cold for awhile but I thought it was a great afternoon. Once you got the blood flowing the temperature was a non factor.

As for the field. I think it's off to a good start. Seems like It may be a little thick once summer rolls around but I liked the layout. I will definitely be back for more.

Unfortunately due to a wet, cold, foot issue by my partner we couldn't stay the whole time but I <3 capture the flag

Good Game everyone

Great game guys, Everyone had great sportsmanship, even with the cold. Got warm, then it got really cold aging. For the field it looks great, my suggestions are some borders or covers in the wide field, but like reddogg said it does look like it would be thick during summer so that makes great cover.

I had a great time. The field was grat and the people were great.

As for the field i loved it. The open field could have used a little cover but thats what we get for going across it.

I too thank Doug for letting us player there. He is great guy in my openion.

Locutus if you need help working on the field let me know I will do my best to help.

I'll find out tomorrow if my hand starts aching whether playing with the cast was a good idea, but it was fun enough that I think it'll be OK either way. Lots of fun with just a few great people.

It was cold, to be sure, and for any and all the hits that landed on my back, I do apologize - especially yours, Mole.

The field has some great potential. A very nice square shape for once, bits of woods and field splattered all over, mixed terrain elevation with no back-breaking hills, and a wide open field that is just bad to run across with an objective strapped to your back. Summer will definately change the field, making many places we ran through totally impassable, but that might make manuevering even more interesting, with plenty of ambush points. I'm very interested in how this field will develop.

That was my firt event ever and it was pretty cool. I liked the feild alot because i live on a farm with about the same terrain. Lots of low bushs and those evergreens make for pretty good cover. Capture the Flag was pretty sweet too. I definetly would put some cover in some of those open trails. Thanks alot for welcoming me into the sport.

Yea it was a great time as usual, the friendly stroll across the field was just a joke as was the first capture the flag game but it was still a ton of fun. It was also good to see everyone and Link i hope your hand does get better I mean melee weapons arent really practical in airsoft so your club hand isnt all that useful.

I had a great time everyone, thank you Stormblade for putting on this event. Even though I had to miss the CTF games. I learned an extremely valuable lesson however: Jungle boots are made for the jungle. Not freezing snow covered ground. Link I hope the hand heals soon, but props for playing with that cast.

Yeah, jungle boots are not the best for cold weather. If you need to use them again, invest in a good pair of wool socks and some sock liners.

Link, how is the hand?

For perspective, I played BF5 with the same type of cast on back in September. The following day my hand ached with a force and I vowed never to make that mistake again.

After Sunday's game, my hand was feelin' fine with no trouble at all. That green mask really did keep my hand warm, and though I broke my vow never to play with a cast on again, I did learn to hold the rifle with my good hand and my shoulder - and to use the sling more often. Seems to have worked!

The cast came off Tuesday and I'm now sporting a much more versitle (and removable) splint. So while I'm still not supposed to lift anything heavy or put too much strain on it, it's getting better. Should be good as new for spring games, or sooner if I keep from over-using it.
