BIOSHOCK II (Oct. 17.09)
ALL of SPEAR, thank you very much for hosting an awesome night game and investing the countless hours to bring Ohio a second installment to the ONLY night game series worth attending within 200miles.
To all the players, young, old, veteran, or newbie, you all made it worth it. Ranger, Cartel, Civilian, ZORG, Contractor, Col. Torque guard, or the main HVT/VIPs, everyone of you played a vital role in myself and my Rangers having a good time. Whether it was a strong firefight or a silent flank against a building I can't say that as XO, I even had 5 minutes to myself. Hell I was fighting front line at the end to re-take the DECON building and the radio tower. There were a couple hiccups that I was personally witness to and at one time a direct participant in. All situations were dealt with immediately by SPEAR Staff and did NOT halt the game's progress for more than a few minutes. Other possible event organizers and newbies take notes here, this is the type of staff and organization that you should EMULATE! Mav, great job as a first time CO. There wasn't a single call you missed and you kept everyone pushing hard the whole time. Ranger 1-1 - Badass pushing, you guys kicked *** the whole game and were our tip of the spear. Thank you for wearing thin in the last fews hours and pushing non stop the whole time. I would say the only observation is that SL's, whoever it is, needs to check in WAY more on the radio and stay in constant communication with command. ![]() Ranger 1-2 - Dealing with locals is hard and you saw that first hand for almost the entire game. Great job holding the town when you could and great job taking it back when you lost it at the end. If you hadn't been so dedicated to your mission we would have been lost right off the bat. Great job and great communication! ![]() Ranger 1-3 - You were our jack of all trades, if I called you answered and just ask where you were going. That type of motivation is rare and totally REQUIRED for any milsim game. Great communication and great motivation to kick *** non-stop. Oh and great job finding the cache from the locals at the end, even though we didn't get to use it. ![]() All of you Rangers deserve a hand shake and brew for the ferocious fire you put out at the drop of a hat or the hard runs you took to the farthest points of the map when we lost the chopper. Being stuck at HQ with a radio in my ear and a map in my hand I didn't see much, but I heard it all. And from what I heard, I was jealous of you shooters who were out there kicking it. Regardless, thank you for working with me as your XO. I'd rock out with all of you any game. Ranger HOOAH! (Phalanx - What is your profession?!)

That was by far the best game i have been to in a while. The chopper aspect of the game was great. The raids I wen on with Ranger 1:1 were even better. I wasn't surprised when people were waiting for us on the third raid. I also like how the breaks were kept short so they game wouldn't really have any long pauses.
Thanks to SPEAR for the countless hours they put into running the event and everyone who came out. It was nonstop action. |

That was the most fun Ive had in a long time out there. I will always try to come out to any SPEAR events. Got a little confusing at night trying to sneak around, and at one point my squad was in a train like formation holding onto the person in front on them trying to find out way threw the brush to drop off that body into the river.
Maelstrom, like always its a blast running with you guys and I think we did pretty good for what was thrown at us. Also, glad to have a few Strikers in the squad too. Hardlock and Turbeau kept it interesting, and helped out a lot. Met a few new people, and saw some old friends I havent seen in a while. Nearo, had fun trying to give you some cover, and seeing you pop up all over the field. Hope to attend to another SPEAR event soon. Edit: Lost a Black mechanic style glove on the field somewhere.

Great event SPEAR!! Top Notch fun for all! As my first night game, it was an awesome experience.
Ranger command, thank you! More than any other event I've yet been too, there was the right amount of radio communication to keep us SLs informed and up to date. Above all else, that was key to our victory! Squad 1-2, you preformed your duties in textbook case style. Your ability to keep on task, and to perform at your best, even when spread thin, did me proud. Those of you that are not Devils, are welcome any time to run with us again! Cartel folk and civies, you gave us a hard time, but fun. Sorry about the Mayor... if he hadn't shot at my men, we wouldn't have put him down. As it stood, that was an awesome little event to have heppen ont he field, kept my men on their toes. To the OPFOR, you guys were a good force, safe and fair from all our interactions with you. Maelstrome, we saw plenty of one another all night long... you guys really had that ninja schtik down ont hat second set of missions ![]() Looking forward to more great events, and seeing you all out on the field!

All I can say is wow, what an event. Probablly the most fun I've ever had at an event even though most of time I didn't even see what I was firing at. The chopper raids were hands down the most entertaining part of the night. However a biased a statement, Rangers were by far the most ferocious and relentless force out there, Ranger 1-1, I couldn't ask for a better squad. No one sat on their asses, hiding and skittering to cover, everyone was more than willing to throw themselves in the ****, and that was awesome. Same goes for everyone else, you all kicked ***. I can't tell you how awesome it ways that everyone had the " F*** it, lets do it" attitude.

SPEAR thank you!! the game rocked!
everyone that I interacted with was serious, be were having a great time. Maelstrom, we kicked some major ***!!! There were times when the Rangers had us by our balls, but vice versa very fun, all night! I now know why I was able to get away from the comm tower alive after the Rangers decimated us. S.X.E. Man was making his own death and glory run (should be told by him, with DarkSniper assisting!)! I was left alive in the bottom room because whoever checked, didn't check thoroughly, so I healed everyone and we got out. MechEng... haha, it was fun everytime we ran into you. It was either you or some other Ranger that did us all in when we were pinned in our mobile spawn point. Some one popped me from right outside the window, but we didn't lose Evil Head, hahaha! Knightmare, it was a blast having you tool around with us after you didn't have much in the way of other orders. Please recap everyone on that last cartel suicide run you had ![]() To all the other CMPC guys, I had a blast, got to heal some of you, and I apologize for the repeated asking of who you were, I was spooked by those guys in black and a few times some Rangers were even getting very sneaky! Great game, can't wait till next one!

I would like to say thank you to everyone that participated, and job well done! This was my first event ever, and everyone set the bar high. I saw so many things that impressed me, and being a night game was icing on the cake. As a civilian, I was observing rather then participating and I can't say enough great things about the event.
To the staff: Excellent job running the event! Everything seemed well organized and flowing. Timing was punctual, but also fluid when needed. Even when hiccups popped up, they were handled in a quick and professional way. The extras (helo, and effects) were very entertaining, and added realism to the Mil Sim. All in charge were welcoming and patient. That shows a lot of class. To participants: Thanks to all for making my experience something I look forward to having again. Watching everything go on around me from inside the town, was like watching a movie unfold in front of me. Everyone took their role seriously, while still enjoying it. When tan arrived at the very beginning, I was very impressed with the smooth deployment of troops. Things just kept getting better from there. Thanks again for all the hard work that went into this. The field was great, the players performance was incredible, and the staff did an amazing job. Kudos to all!!! |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IReMfvamQ28 Hell yea, great game last night. Thanks to SPEAR for putting on a great game. The helicopter idea was brilliant! Ranger Squad 1-1, damn good job, damn good. Thanks Moose for being a damn good SL. Great playing with the rest of the Rangers as well. That was a ton of fun. Even though we got caught on our third raid, it was fun messing with our captors. Maelstrom and the rest of the guys holding us hostage, great times. Its all in good fun ![]() Thanks Mav and Scorpion for leading us, you both made the game that much better. Good game everyone. |

That was by all measure a fantastic event. To C-3, we did well and executed all our orders with the utmost of badassness- even our suicide mission. Evil Head, good job as our CO. To the Ranger squad we captured off the helicopter, way to play along and be our first test subjects. Despite the confusion when we got AEPi, it all worked out. And it was nice getting to run into you Devils a few times. As it has been said by everybody, great job SPEAR that event was very kick ***. To everyone else that helped pull it off, great job it was fun.

Thank you for all who attended! I'm glad to hear everyone had a great time! Red, Phil, Dora, Charlie it was great hanging with you guys again, Kong, Spencer it was pleasure to meet you. All who helped roleplay awesome job! To the Ranger squad that was in the Village good job staying in character, Hope you liked the claymore we put on the tower steps with your guys inside
Now there was one instance that I had to calm someone down. I want to reinforce what I said to this player. That there is never any reason to get violent on the field we may be playing "war" but everyone is there to have a good time, When anyone looses their cool that ruins the game for everyone around you and that is something I cannot stand. When you show up to a game show up with a cool head and a good attitude. Beisdes that I will have the Pictures up asap.

Wow, now that the smoke has cleared, I feel like I can think again!
To my Rangers: I couldn’t ask for a better group. To my XO, We did great scro! We handled every crisis situation with a flawless victory. While we may not have won every battle, i chalk it up as a victory. The command structure held firm, squads kept in contact and you kept them feeding sitreps and intel. I couldnt have done it without you! Squad 1-1, you guys do work! I sent you guys into the **** and you did exactly what I expected my rangers to do. Bring me lots of stuff! Energetic, enthusiastic, and hard working, that’s how its done! Squad 1-2, I gave you guys the hardest job. You were tasked with keeping the peace in the town as well as running security for the DEA agent. Dealing with civilians is never an easy task. Things go from good to worse in a split second. All it takes is one accidental shot or one uneasy situation to make or break the game. You guys kept your cool, disarmed hostile situations and kept the town in check for the game. Squad 1-3, My favorite thing to do in life is to analyze people. Reading your posts and knowing some of you personally I could tell you were a “Do Work” squad. I tasked you with security of the town because you were the best suited to do so. With all of the questions I received from your squad leading up to the event I knew you were perfect for your orders. Having you perimeter the town I knew that anyone coming in would have to deal with you and that everyone entering and leaving would get grilled and identified correctly. While we lost the town for a little while, you were the SOLE reason we were able to keep that radio tower to complete our mission. My thanks go out to you guys big time! CPMC, you were a great opponent. You kept us guessing and forced me to think on my toes most of the evening. When you captured Squad 1-1, my heart sank. I remember throwing my radio headset exclaiming a long line of profanities. My favorite moment was when we lost the town and I moved up into the shadows to have forward eyes for command. I snuck past a building and received a shot in the back. Me: “Wow Tan, you just shot me” OP “I’m not tan” Me: “Ah ****”. You guys had me. I wondered all night if I would end up captured and my hopes were not high after i did. However, next time you escort a hostage make sure you lead them and not assume they will follow. While it ended in a respawn for myself, I definitely got away without having to spill any beans ![]() Cartel, sigh, sometimes I hate dealing with civilians. No matter how many apples I bought or how many stacks of cash were given it just wasn’t enough for you guys. Always raiding my base, always IEDing, it was like baby sitting a field full of toddlers! Dora, nice try bud but the DEA definitely wouldn’t let you have a whole box full of coke in your own tower! “DEA told me to bring this to the tower” Me: “No he didn’t. You’ve got two options. I can take it from you and take you captive or you can grab a handful and get out of my site.” Dora: “What am I going to do with a handful?” Me: “What you guys have been doing with it all night. Be lucky you’re getting a handful”. The sportsmanship was great. I heard no complaints all evening and the morale was high even to the end. As far as game mechanics goes, Bioshock 2 was a proud accomplishment. I look forward to playing with you all again in the near future!

All the planning , preparation and props in the world can only set the stage for an event, it is truly the players who make it great. I would like to thank everyone who came out and made Bioshock 2 a great event.
I had a blast being the "chopper" pilot. Thanks to all players for following the rules set forth concerning the helo. I didn't have any questionable incidents at all. As the chopper pilot I worked with both CPMC and Rangers and would like to congratulate both sides. Both commands were excellent, and both teams fought very well. The 08th as a mexican drug cartel (complete with pinatas, marguiritas and "El Dorito") was everything I expected and more. Ex-Col Torques security team, I never saw you guys on the field, as would be expected from such a covert squad I have a fairly large inventory of lost articles. If anyone lost anything at Bioshock 2, send me a PM with a good description of the item and I will let you know if it is among the items found. Last edited by maglips; 10-18-2009 at 06:00 PM. |

That was one of the best night games I have attended... Rangers did an excellent job of getting it done... Rangers 1-2 (Caine Hazen and Makaiju) and 1-3 (Titan and Warcat); great job on helping us out when Rangers 1-1 got in deep... THANKS!
Mavrick & Scorpion; Awesome job as CO & XO Maelstrom; it was fun attacking and getting attacked by you... either at the decon or at your lab... btw: thanks for not hitting me with the SAW after my reaction to the injection... Medic, your welcome - That was me that tagged you through the window ;-) Maglips and SOL; great job on the copter... you guys did a great job for both teams!!! To Rangers 1-1: we had a couple of hiccups... overall, we kicked a$$... I must say the raid was the most motivating part of the evening. And yes the third time in we were bound to get nailed... but ya know, you just need to push the limits... To all the coordinators of the event: THANKS! To all the players: Many thanks for the great sportsmanship and fun times... Last edited by MechEng; 10-18-2009 at 07:01 PM. |

SoL: This is what I thought about my helo rides
Mavrick, Scorpion: Great job both of you! The comms were great and you guys were quick to respond and react to changing threats and adapt to changes in game play. You guys kept in control and kept us going until the very end. Squad 1-3. You guys were great! Not having met everyone before I was unsure but after meeting everyone and seeing how well you executed orders I was very impressed. Even though we did not get into lots of fire fights we held key points. We protected the village on a number of occasions, made the initial link with Col Torque and his forces, stayed vigilant around the missile, and were there as a force for our CO/XO To all the cartel, great fun, I lost a lot of food to you guys. Also I want my brick back! Those of you who took it in exchange for helping take the town back know who you are! Great times!
