Question 18" outer barrel but what size for the inner?

Hi, I've recently been doing the math and research to build my own M4-A1 over this coming summer and I can't seem to figure this little speed bump out. I want to have a 18" outer barrel on it, but I can't seem to figure out what length of inner barrel to get to fit in it properly. The closest I've found so far is a 407mm inner barrel. And I was just wanting to check with more people to make sure that that's as close as I can get. The one I was looking at is on Airsoft GI and is the Bravo Steel 6.03mm High Precision Inner Barrel for M4 Plus / SR16 (407mm). Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My best advice is to grab a ruler with metric system on it and measure it.

If you go to your local shop some of them can cut your barrel for you if you buy it there. Its free at airsoft smith.

A 14.5" outer barrel is normally coupled with a 363mm inner barrel. If one converts 18" to mm, you arrive at ~457mm. The closest barrel in length is the AK barrel, which measures 455mm. You could go up to a 469mm G3/SG1 inner barrel if you're using an exceedingly long flash hider.

I currently have a G3/SG1 inner barrel on order for my Mk12 Mod 0. It's outer barrel length is nominally 18" long, but it has a unique muzzle brake.

Cheers,
Piano

Future advice, you should have posted this in your other thread. Mods frown upon people who start like 5 threads in a short time.

To answer your question, and not be a troll, 455mm. AK length.

Also,

Alright P y r o. Sorry about that =/ I'm a bit new to these forums. Most of the reason I didn't post in my other thread is because it seemed verging on spam lol. But thank you for being considerate and helpful. I knew how many millimeters were in 18" but I didn't think I could use a barrel for a AK in a M4 weapon. I'm learning all kinds of things today lol. Thanks mate.

No problem, just friendly advice. You can use most AEG barrels in most AEG's, just be wary of a few.

Some M14 barrels, GBB barrels, and sniper barrels are different barrel cuts than AEG's, so you won't be able to use them in your M4. But anything else, like an AK barrel, just refers to the length. Still compatible with other standard AEG's.

I've heard the black barrels are bigger than any other barrel. I myself have never seen a black barrel up close but I have heard they start at 9-10 inches and get as big as a foot long.
