Check to see if there is a bb stuck in the barrel. The A&K hopup rubber (at least the one that came with my SAW) is crappy and bbs will get stuck in it. As far as the box mag, try checking to see if the batteries have been jarred loose.

A&K SAW: Somethings awry with it...

When I pull the trigger, sometimes it wont stop firing, even when I let off the trigger. These uncontrolled bursts last about 5-10 seconds, or until I un-plug the battery. I have tried other batteries to no avail. Help!!!

Here is a link to a review on Arnie's Airsoft that might be of some use. About 2/3 the way down the page, it discusses the problem you are talking about, along with a solution that worked for him. Hope you get it to work for you, they're fun guns to use if they work right.

Hey guys, thanks for the help. I opened it up and played with the contacts a little bit, and it seems to be working now. If not I will just pick up a CA one since it is only $10.

Does anyone know if a 10.8 battery can fit under the barrel in the MK1 A&K M249? And if not a 10.8 what would the largest battery be that could fit in that space. I checked previous posts and other than modifying the box mag theres not really anything i could find pretaining to this question. Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Yes, you can fit a mini 10.8v battery in that spot. It is really tight, but it will fit. Deans plugs help save space.

The biggest that'll fit under the barrel is a 9.6v, yeah I know, it sucks, not the battery I wan't to be using with a SAW.

EH: I'm pretty sure the A&K MK1 will not fit it, yours is an Echo and the Mk II, not sure if that matters but none of my other batteries have fit, I'm not sure, can't hurt to try I guess

I pretty sure that area of the front end is the same regardless of model. The battery I have because of the position of the 9th cell, makes it thinner at the end.

I bought an a&k m249 MKII recently, and i completely overhauled it. since people have so many questions about them i am going to make a picture documentary on how to completely dissasemble, reassemble, fix, mod, etc. all the stuff people seem to have questions about. but for an immediate answer to your box mag issue, there is actually a LARGE issue with the a&k box mags that requries a small mod to fix. ill post em up ASAP.

Please, do so, I'd love to see the insides of these now, the last gearboxes I saw were from a "company with a name beginning with an E", and had to open ALL of them to put in new nozzles!
What a pain.

Take some tight pics, and the necro might even go un-noticed...

Yes.
Empty it completely.
Then shake the living daylights out of it. I can just about assure you there's some plastic debris from an ammo jar in there.

IF the motor's running, but nothing's firing.

Other wise, possible electrical problem.

Seen this place yet?

Wait...what? Is this a question, statement, general keyboard-headroll? Seriously people, specific sentences with details and proper English. It is in no way difficult, use that good 'ole public education.
