I agree with grease man and lu , under $50 is perfect and I dony carry one... Yet. But it would be a good thing to have when ur alone or a teamate is hurt so an FAK for airsoft is just wat we need so as soon as one is perfected... LET ME KNOW.

I see the need for advanced stuff such as C.A.T's and gauze but the problem being my medical knowledge as a boy scout doesn't extend that far. I carry a medical kit but with more like tiny bandages and sterile wipes as that is more common. I would at one point like to carry a proper IFAK on my person but the other problem is gear space. Interesting idea though marketing to airsoft people.

I think the need for an IFAK could be greatly reduced if people stopped trying to pull COD dolphin dives all the time

IFAK stands for individual first aid kit, its purpose is in combat situations you can sustain your ability to fight. Self aid, buddy aid, And corpman aid. so what ever is in your IFAK is to be used on your self. so you should only carry what you are comfortable using on your self or some one using on you. Every one should carry an IFAK or improvised IFAK because whose in charge of your safety? you as an individual are its not the refs responsibility to take care of you it does say it in most waivers that the host is not liable for any damage or death. $50-$100 in my experience for that price there is not too much that can get a person in trouble but enough to get them where they have to go in a situation.

An IFAK is a good thing even for small items. I am a combat lifesaver in the Army so mine might have more stuff then needed but I can assist if something goes wrong. I think it should be taught or talked about when teams get together about what to do because somethings o
are serious while others are not. |

I think what he meant was the one he carries for Airsoft is a Overstuffed IFAK not the one he carried on operations or training etc.

As a member of the USMC Infantry I personally see no reason to carry an IFAK on an airsoft field. The types of wounds that an IFAK is used for are extensive burns of second and third degree, arterial hemorrhaging, opening an airway, and cutting off blood circulation to an extremity. None of which should be an active situation on any airsoft field. However, I see no reason a basic first aid kit couldn't be carried around by players to treat any common minor injury received in the field.

Also an IFAK is part of CLS because you use what the soldier carries first. I did mean mine is over packed. I am a chemical soldier so I know the need for different tools to not have skin contact.

All IFAK stands for is Individual First Aid Kit. There is no standard for what that means. Do you think a first aid kit is appropriate? Yes or No. Is a trama kit necessary for every airsofter? No, that is a waste.

Its better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. If you have the skills to use it properly then why not have one. Although I agree it is a little overkill for airsoft, I keep it handy for when we handle real steel.
