1911 help

I have a socom gear novak's 1911 and when I fire it cycles about 3/4s of the way then locks up, I believe the problem is the loading valve? is moving forward and locking in place, preventing the slide from moving back to the forward position. I will post a video, if that will help.

Thanks

Is the pistol lubed properly? This includes the guide rails and the piston head seal (rubber thing inside the cylinder).

Sent from my Ally using Tapatalk, because I cant'afford a real Droid.

Check to see if the hammer is catching the slide. If this is the case, then your leaf springs are bent, and need to be adjusted back into place. This is very, very common with SCG/WE MEUs. Happened to my own one years ago.

If this is not the case, check to see if there is wear in a specific place on the slide/body of the pistol. This may give you a clue as to what is catching.

I had the same problem a couple months ago with my WE MEU... it wasn't the hammer catching anything, but the valve would move without the slide itself... i fixed it by lubing all of the moving parts and keeping them lubed, as well as doing this http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/sh...&highlight=gas.
I can now shoot two-ish mags of bb's with one mag of gas, and haven't had the problem since.

You will need to disassemble the gun, the with a clean cloth wipe down all of the surfaces. Take your choice of silicon based lubricant and reapply it on the inner workings of the gun. Reassemble and check for proper operation. Remove excess lube.

Do what Red said. I had a CQB master that had this problem, all I did was file down the hammer and it worked fine. If its not that then do a complete strip down of your gun, look for anything that might be causing this.

I took it completely apart and re-oiled it.

That's the only wear and tear I see on the slide and body, the hammer is catching, a little, when the slide goes back, but that's normal right, because with gas, it should push it down. I feel like it could be the spring in my loading valve, because it seemed to be a little weak, I don't know if that would be the problem.

321Airsoft in Milford might be able to figure this out. Or I70. I had a similar problem with my Desert Warrior and they somehow managed to fix it.

Try taking a picture of the lower. I'm wanting to see if it's catching on one of the levers on the right side of the frame (it's on the right side when you're aiming down the sights). It's a silver triangle protruding out. If that's the case, i'd have to ask my buddy to see how he fixed his. If it's not the case, try doing what the other guys are saying; lube it up and see what happens. If it's not not the lubrication, the leaf springs are probably it.

Yes, the slide moves the hammer, but the hammer will lock down. If the leaf springs are bent, the hammer will come up while the slide is all the way back and keep it from going back into full battery.

P.S. Nice music, man.

Pictures are a little blurry, but it doesn't look worn anywhere .

Take a picture of the just like the last few you posted, but pull back your hammer. If there is a dent on the frame where the hammer contacts then that is probably what is causing the problem. On WE/socom gear 1911's and 2011's the hammer over time begins to dent the frame where it contacts, the material in this area is pushed upward when this happens and can cause your slide to hang up on it. Ive had it happen on every WE 1911 I've owned.
