Noob, need help.

Okay so I'm josh, new to this form, I just played my first real game on Saturday and I'm hooked!!! But yesterday I took my mtc1 apart to clean and my selector plate was broken. I probably broke it when trying to get it apart but it happened. So I when online and can't find anything at all for a new one!!! So for now I'm trying to make one outta some plastic I had from my rc cars. My plan is to see if I can make it out of the plastic and if I'm successful I'll make a steel or aluminum one. I still want to find a replacement one tho. Does anyone know where I can get one? Any links.
Sorry if im asking a stupid questions or in the wrong topic.

To start, I don't know if making your own would be a great idea unless you're really good at molding work, or maybe even carving. But, here's a link to hopefully help you.
http://www.evike.com/index.php?cPath...c2c4d766dbe20a

We can help you a little more if you tell/show us what kinda gun you have, but you might not need to go any further if that link helps you.

Edit: Check around classifieds. People may just have some internal parts they want to get rid of. There are multiple boards that I can link you to, and others also, but it would be rude to openly advertise another board in a thread, so PM me if you can't find what you're looking for, I'll try to find an internals part section for you somewhere.

slim posted the exact thing you need. If you don't want to get it from that sight, there are others but now you know what you are looking for.

Sorry about the questioning what gun it was. I didn't recognize that gun name. I thought it was just a part he was mentioning.

Ya it's a weird gun. Echo 1s take on a G36 really. Not a bad gun though cause it takes M4 mags and it doesn't have the folding stock.

Check this out. You'll find tons of gear there. I would suggest to go with the gear first, unless you have the money to buy both. That's the best place to find cheap prices without having to deal with cheap gear. Plus it helps out someone in your community.

Also, if you don't mind posting an intro to tell us a little about yourself up in the introductions section.

It will. The 6-position stock should come right off if you take the stock pin out. (If you're looking from above, the vertical pin on the right side of the base of the stock)

After that, the way to put the original folding stock on should be pretty apparent.

Your gun is compatible with all V3 gearbox parts, except for a few specifics. The selector plate, air nozzle, cylinder head, and trigger are G36 (MTC) specific parts. Other than that, any part designed for a Version 3 style gearbox works on your gun. The motor is short style.

I advise against a metal selector plate, its plastic so it doesn't conduct electricity (I think).

Also, depending on when your gun was made, you might need a T9 size Torx wrench to open up the gearbox. But you can replace the selector plate without doing that

http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=28521

Hope I helped.

Thank you all this is info is unbelievably valuable for me. I'm hopeing my local shop will have the part in stock. Also for sights/reddot's what would you guys suggest? I don't wanna spent a lot but I also want a good one. I wanna spent like $50 but if I can get a really nice one for a bit more I will spent it. And for my mags, I bought a box (5) of king arms 120 mid cap. And I can only get like 60-90 if I'm lucky. Is that normal. And should I get more KA mags or go for "mag' brand. I paid $37. And they seem to be made outta good abs plastic.

Favorite red dots vary person to person. I personally like 551s and 553s. I suggest going to ebairsoft.com to find one, they are fairly cheap and have free shipping

I love me some ACOG TA31. I've ordered a replica, but it's on backorder right now. Never had the guts to drop $1,300 on a real one. The replicas run around $75-$95 depending on the site. They're a 4x scope with a big view to look through and be able to quickly get a sight on your target. Here's a link to a replica (you can find them on E-Bay cheaper)
http://airsoft-club.com/shop/scope/n...my-fiber-cable

Now, what you might be interested in is that G&P AIMPoint replicas. They have all kinds. The CompM4 AIMPoint, I think the military calls it the M68, but someone can help me out there, is the standard issue today to troops. Every now and then, someone will get lucky and get an ACOG, but there are more CompM4's out in the field. Here's a link to a replica...
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=29872
That's clearly out of stock, but you can take that name and search for it and find somewhere that has it in stock. The perks to that are that it's mounted directly to the gun without the need of a scope mount, so there's not the extra charge and it won't get knocked off the zero easily.

Then there's the old military one, I believe this one was the M65 (correct me again if I'm wrong). It was replaced with the CompM4 so you'll see TONS of pictures with them as the switch over just happened in the past year or two. This is a replica...
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=33853
But you can find good deals on a G&P one for and average of $32 (yes, weird number, that what's I've found). You would need a mount for it, but you can find airsoft mounts for as low as $10. Just remember to look for a 30mm scope mount.

Then you have the EOTech replica. I have the real EOTech on my real steel. The real ones are just amazing. I've never used or even finger banged a replica. Someone else will have to step in for their insight on it. In the real world, most SF use the EOTech...seen here is a good example...
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...=img0145dv.jpg
It's claimed to be a picture of the SEAL team that went in and killed Osama, although I believe that's been recently proven wrong. It's still however, a currently active SEAL team. You can see EOTech's on every single one of their guns.
Here is a replica...
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=30043
Again, you can find it for cheaper other places, and possibly around $50 used.

Then you have the final one...A mini dot. It's not the best for distance shooting, or quick aiming, but it's cheap, and used over seas, mostly by PMC's but you'll see some on soldiers' guns sometimes.
This is Haley's gun, a famous PMC and Ex-SF
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...6_10-500-7.jpg
He's clearly using the Mini AIMPoint. You can see the replica here...
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=32163
That's about the price you'll find them around.

Disclaimer: Everything from here on is strictly opinion. I will state it like fact because of this disclaimer.

The best company is G&P for reddot replicas. They're bright, and hold a decent zero. I used to play in the woods and every now and then have to go out into a bright, sun lit area, with the sun beating down and you can't see past your protective eye wear. The only thing I could see was the dot sticking out through the bright light in my eyes, when it wasn't even on full blast. I'd have to turn it down when I got into the woods because I couldn't see things behind the dot (because it was so bright)

Putting a killflash on them is a good idea, incase it gets hit with a BB, you don't want it to break.
http://www.evike.com/product_info.ph...ducts_id=26310
I never had one, but it's a risk I took every day. I took a couple rounds off the PEQ-2, so 1 inch higher, and my $60 optic would've been a great paper weight. They're all different for the different optic you have. So make sure you don't just grab one without doing some research.

Done with opinion: This is about all the information I can give you on the optics I know. There are many other options, but I never used, or researched anything that isn't for military use. They didn't all fit your budget, but you stated it can vary depending on your interests, so I just linked you to everything. I was tabbing around Evike when I was writing this so that's where most of the links came from, but you can search around on different places like www.airsoft-club.com www.ebairsoft.com www.primaryarms.com and so on. Find the best deal you can. And don't count out E-Bay.

Hope this helped.

I used the first one on my .22 which it claimed it was for use with a real gun, nothing over a .22 and every shot knocked it off it's zero, and it would constantly go out, or parts of the sight would go out. I scrapped it in a day. What a waste of money. Those open sight red dots get dirty in them very easily and then they don't project the sight. You're better off using one that's closed up. Plus, it's not very milsim. If you're looking for something that's militaristic, get something that the soldiers use, or at least try to look like it. If you can't afford it, that's one thing, but that sight you posted was much more expensive than the old M2 that I posted by G&P.

Did a quick search for "Airsoft Red Dot" and found a store on E-Bay...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/G-P-1x30-mm-...#ht_2326wt_956

That's what I came up with in about 30 seconds. It's out there, for much cheaper. That one was slightly cheaper, and free shipping. In your hands in about 2 weeks for $45 +/- The one you posted on Evike is not only cheap looking, but it costs more and will be about $8 shipping.

Just to be clear, this is all my opinion. Many people on here do run the open view sight and love it. You may want to look around at some people's gun pictures and PM them individually if they don't reply here. Ask them what it's like, if they regret getting it, or not.

I don't really know that much. You'll find that's mostly just common knowledge as you get more into airsoft and hang around some of the ex-military guys. It just slowly comes by being corrected when you say something wrong so don't take it wrong if someone tells you "False, this is what's true," they're actually helping in their own way.
