I doubt the Madbull hopup is going to be compatible with an ICS, but I don't know for sure. If it could be used, it would require you to use a TM compatible air nozzle in your upper cylinder assembly, but due to the way the ICS uppers are made, the nozzle may not properly mate with the hopup unit. For now it's hard to say for sure.

It actually looks like its based off the ICS hop up

Just a smaller adjustment knob, its made of metal, and the BB holding feature. I do agree that you will probably have to do some modding to get this to work with your ICS though, theyre very part specific.

Edit* I already noticed an incompatibility. The bottom part where the BBs enter through the mag wont fit without either hacking up your guns body or the square part of the hopup

(somewhat off topic): is AA open Dec 26th, because if these are still available then I might grab one.

(on topic): would this work in a CA? I don't know the differences between the manufacturers that well.

Fish, It should work fine on a CA. I bought one of these yesterday and first impressions are very good. I used it with a G&P metal nozzle and didn't think it would be compatible at all, but to my surprise, it not only worked, it raised my fps by 25!!! This is over a system that already got an excellent seal.
I'm still working out a couple bugs with it, such as over hopping with the hop full off and with .25s, but the nub that comes with it is a bigger diameter than most. Changing to a smaller nub will probably fix this. There is also the possibility that the nub got shifted or twisted when I inserted the barrel/bucking. I'll give a full report when I have it working correctly.

Just to update, a smaller nub did fix the over-hop problem. The nub that comes with the madbull is a larger diameter than most nubs and has a smaller diameter hole through the center, so it has a lot of meat to it.
The other issue I have with it is that the o-ring that is supposed to keep the BBs from falling out simply does not work. I cannot seem to fix it, but I don't really care about it either.
All in all, this is an excellent unit. Accuracy is outstanding, it feeds very well, adjustment is smooth but firm enough to keep it from creeping. It is better than the vast majority of hop ups and at $30 is an outstanding value.

Got mine today and I am impressed with it. I was replacing a systema hop up that gave me a few quirks. Side by side, the madbull hop up makes the systema one look crappy. The adjustment wheel works great and makes small adjustments very easy. I do agree with maglips that the nub they provide is a monster but it seems to work okay for me. The bucking itself also proved to be too long and blocked the barrel clip from locking into place. Fixed with a snip of the scissors but kinda odd. Anyways its a great product and holds up to the madbull standard of quality. A+

I bought another one of these today and before installing it in the gun I intended it for, I tried to install it in an ICS.
It will not work in an ICS as it is, however I think it can be modded to work. As Tweek showed in his post, the rectangular area at the bottom interferes with the "arched" area at the front of ICS magwells. The MB hop unit fit all the way forward into the barrel, but the hop was lifted slightly to do so (the rectangular area of the hop unit rode up on top the the arched area of the magwell). This increased tolerance prevented the catch on the mags feed port from being opened to release BBs into the hop unit. Otherwise it seemed to fit well and I think removing the front of the rectangular area would probably make it work. I measured the MB against an ICS hop and they are virtually identical.

When AA gets more of these in stock, I will get another (or two) and see if i can actually get them to work in my ICSs. Even if I can make it fit, there still could be nozzle compatibility issues, as Darkstar stated.

Bad news to my fellow ICS users. The Madbull hop cannot be made to work with ICS M4s.
Today I removed The front of the rectangular area from a MB hop up and tried to fit it to an ICS M4. Like I said in my previous post, I really thought it could be done. However, even with the rectangular area removed, the mag does not engage the hop up unit properly and therefore doesn't feed reliably. If I pushed the mag tightly into the magwell while firing, it was fine, and actually worked extremely well with the ICS nozzle. It even chronoed 10fps higher than with the ICS hop.

I compared The ICS with the MB hop to my other ICS M4 with its stock hop up unit and found that the stock ICS hop does extend farther past the "arched" area of the magwell than it does with the MB hop. I had measured both hops from the rails on the sides of the hop ups to the bottom of the feed tube and the difference was slight, App. 3/100". I had hoped this would not be a problem, but apparently it makes all the difference.

Too bad, I love this hop and would like to be able to fit it in my ICSs, but alas, no.
