Figured I'd rev this thread up again. My BCM 14.5" middy and 18" SPR build.

Love the grips.

I never shoot the P22 anymore, it's a crap pistol.

S&W M&P15, though I've added a Tangodown battlegrip and a Magpul BAD lever.

Only decent pic of my baby, my Steyr M9-A1. Added a steel guide rod for the slide, some detailed grip tape work, and did a lot of trigger work (replaced the striker spring with something 1.5 lbs lighter, added Big Taco's Delrin spring cups, among other spring bends and sanding...) and it shoots stupidly smooth and accurate.

And the newest addition to the family, also designed by Wilhelm Bubbits of Steyr and Glock fame... the Caracal C. Best out of the box trigger on a polymer pistol, period. I have straight-8 sights instead of the QS, but maybe I'll get the QS at some point as well.

I like how you put grip tape on the rear of the slide. Great idea.

It's a decent enough plinker if you need an out of the box ready suppressor host, but it's far too picky about ammo, unreliable, and inaccurate (not to mention a little small for my hands). I've put enough rounds through it that I'm waiting for the slide to crack. I got the GSG simply for looks/1911 platform, but its accuracy has surprised me. However, best bang for buck will always be Ruger or Browning. Though I prefer the Buckmark, it IS a louder host, and Rugers are a pain to disassemble. However, at least they're both not made of potmetal like the P22 and GSG. One day, when I can afford it, I'm getting a S&W Model 41.

ammo wise mine likes Winchester & Remmingtons... so yeah it wont just shoot "anything".. but performance wise its been flawless for me. only got about 3500 rounds thru it, so will hold off my judgement on the long term durability.

ive got a specific use for it with the can on it & it performs that really well.

you may have just got a bad one.

So far so good. Really have great contact when drawing and shooting. Even when hands are sweaty and wet.

I wouldn't say its bad, just inaccurate and picky, like many others who have had similar experiences. You know something's up when the manufacturer only wants CCI's put through it... it's reliable enough with the can (3-5% failure to feed), but still maintains somewhere around a 8-10% failure rate without it when using bulk Remington and Federal ammo. It's maintained those percentages through about 5k rounds. The GSG has been MUCH more reliable and MUCH more accurate, even if it does also have a potmetal slide.

Your carbine looks great. I always liked the M1 carbine, just decided to get the m1a/m14 because it was my first "rifle crush", that and 7.62x51 rocks my socks.

Slowridn73, that JAE stock is super sexy. I've kicked around the idea of putting a couple of my M700's in a JAE700, but with the options I'd want, each stock would be over $1200. So they're still in the HS Precision stocks from the factory. In your honest opinion, are the JAE's worth their exhorbitant price tag?
