Discussion: Player roles?!
With the advancement of new technology out there, what roles (i.e. support weapon, rifleman, sniper, DM, medic, etc) do you still consider important in the field?

I like defined roles in game. But I think it can be tweaked a little.
Support Weapon - * No limit of RPS * FPS 360 or less * Must be a Support Weapon to be used as one. Riflemen - * max 10 mid cap mags, * Semi & Burst(3rnd max) * 1 side arm 4 mags max Medic - Only person who can heal * not sure what weapon they should have Sniper - * Single Shot only * 420 FPS Max * 75 ft MED * Must have working Side arm * be given HVT to eliminate during game This is just off the top of my head.

Recently saw the introduction of an smg class. Allows full auto but you must shoot under 300 fps. This give you another option for those that want full auto but don’t want to lug around an lmg. Also lmg’s I’ve seen normally are allowed to run at 450 with a med. all other classes are locked to semi only.

Medics carry primary weapons in the military today. For Airsoft purposes I don’t see why you would want them to not have primary’s either. Maybe less mags if you wanted to give them some type of drawback.

It's hard enough to get people to run medic now. Lol

Best time ive ever had was at broken home playing a medic. I don’t think I had my gun for half of the event. One way to motivate medics is to have your spawn be forever and a half away. If your squad goes down you’re out of the fight for a while.

I think they are all still important. I like semiautomatic games because it gives and advantage to support to offset the weight of a SAW.
For open plays I don't think snipers are as important, but in Milsim they can cause disruption and provide valuable Intel. I personally want to get some TAG rounds for a grenadier loadout. I think they have helped that roll. Also you have more hand grenade options that help all classes. Medics should have a weapon, but the new CAT7 clones can add alot of realism for milsims.
