Players are responsible for establishing their own base camp, with guidance from OOBI staff.

*** If you have a question about your gear being appropriate for this event, ALWAYS ASK FIRST. Take pictures and confirm BEFORE ARRIVING ***

US: RSVP "Green"
VC/NVA: RSVP "Tan"

Was ARVN kit much different than US? I do not know a tremendous amount about Vietnam but I was under the impression ARVN was mostly supplied by the US.

I'm going to try my hardest to throw together a kit for this. Vietnam isn't "my thing" per say but I do love games that are setup like this one.

What are your thoughts on the use of some blank firing guns? I would love to run around as NVA/VC with my Mosin and some blanks... would make the event much more immersive if a few people came out and mixed in with the regular players. Maybe even get some reenactors out to participate. Might not be able to actually shoot your targets but that doesn't mean they can't still help complete objectives. Just a thought.

What camo did you have in mind?

Blanks are a no go.

But yes, normal Vietnam reenactors are more than welcome to participate in this.

I'm pretty sure, but I believe they did have a but if a variation.

My main idea is, would they play any role?

If you mean VC, than yeah lol.
I will most likely go US. Could I do a US special forces typed thing?
Would probably include green tiger stripe Vietnam styled pants, OD Alice rig, white shirt, and an M1 helmet (possibly with camo cover)? Would that work?

White shirts are not ok.
Vietnam-era tigerstripe is fine.

Show me a picture from the war with v-stripe pants and an OD jacket
**edit**
scratch that, there's a photo from a reenactment group and it doesn't look that bad. Feel free to do that.

@rootbeerking

Trey Moore does top notch Vietnam repros. His web site is below.

http://www.mooremilitaria.com/

The Rothco tigers are different in details, pockets & other details, than the Vietnam Tigers. The link below will show you how you could backdate these tigers to a Vietnam look

http://www.vietnam-airsoft.com/phpBB...php?f=36&t=388

If you have any question, not about the event but uniforms & web gear, pm me. Our group does several different Vietnam impressions, LRP, SEAL, Marine Force Recon. You can check out my album for the Vietnam look.

@Sky,

I'm not trying to highjack the thread, just helping any one who may have questions about uniforms & gear.

Sky,

I posted the link for this out on Airsoft Vietnam. You may draw some more players.

Also, here is the link to Airsoft Vietnam. It has some very good info on it.

Great question. We're currently working through having a reasonable compromise on this issue.
Essentially, there will only be one radio operator per platoon. Said radio operator will need to use a faithful recreation of the PRC-25/PRC-10. This can be recreated pretty easily using an alice frame and an empty radio case. We're currently looking into a good supplier for a telephone-style adapter for modern radios that can be hidden inside the radio case.

What are the specs for squad formation now that you mention it? Like when are we forming up or will we be designated at the event itself?
