Ok cool. Always good to have another pair. Those gloves with cut offs for fingers and mittens are really nice too.

What is the opinion on rebel team using backpacks with molle on them? No molle pouches will be attached, but they are very good bags for this event. If you don't want us using them its okay. Just need a word back.

Using packs with molle will be fine since they will be left at your patrol base regardless.

UPDATE:

Two previously RSVP'd teams are now unable to participate as part of the US Force. As a result, registration is now open for two US squads. Spots will be based on a first come, first serve basis. However before payment you MUST pm the MWM page for confirmation of your spot by MWM staff. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all on the field!

If anyone has ANY questions, concerns, or anything you are to contact myself or anyone one else that is part of MWM or the MWM page directly. You are NOT to contact OOBI regarding our event, your questions or concerns about our event(s).

Another batch of registration emails are out.

As of now we have around 17 rebel spots open and 20 US open. Numbers are fairly even so both teams will likely stay open until game day or until they fill up.

Is there a backup date if the weather is too bad? IE. , we can't physically get to the event location.

Not currently. As a group, we set up some limits for ourselves as far as the weather goes, so if it gets worse than those conditions we'll call it off. Mostly because we don't think everyone will be prepared enough for the weather if it gets that extreme. It's not worth someone getting severe hypothermia or frostbite in 0 degree weather because they didn't bring the right equipment.

If by chance we do cancel do to weather, everyone will of course get full refunds ASAP. We will look into an alternate event time, but that likely won't happen for a few months. Between school, work, drill for the field owner, and other events, very few weekends work for everyone involved. We were already theorizing about a sequel event in the summer, so we could push this back until then if there aren't any other options.

Hopefully, it won't come to that. This polar vortex will only last so long. The average temperature on that date near the AO is 44 / 22F, if I remember correctly. It will be cold, but not cold enough that we can't all handle it. After all, it's going to be -20F tomorrow with the wind chill. 22 is nothing.

TL;DR - we will look into an alternate date [likely in the summer] if weather turns really bad.

It certainly is, as long as it fits with your specific faction. We don't want any rebels running around in Snow Marpat (or whatever the technical term is. Artic Marpat?), but if you are on the US side, go right ahead.

Quick question! Just so I don't break any faction rules. I have an old M65 field jacket my dad gave me. It is a woodland camo scheme, he bought it surplus in the '70s so it has a nice vintage worn look to it. I'm playing on the rebel side, is this acceptable gear?

On the same note, are non-molle belts (kinda like a duty belt) acceptable for rebels? Its all the non-molle gear I have right now, but I can pick up a chi-com if it is on the no-fly list.

Thanks for helping answer some dumb questions in advance, by the way. I would hate to drive a few hours just to have to turn back around!

At this point, I think almost all of our Rebel slots are accounted for. If any non-RSVP'd teams want to go US, I believe we have at least one full squad open, as well as a few other slots for small groups.

Safety and honesty are top of the line and we will except nothing less. Police other players and if they are breaking rules or safety you NEED to report them or it could cost you the event as well as them

Minor Infractions - Result first in a verbal warning. If it happens again, the player(s) at fault will be removed from the field.
-Cheating of any sort, including but not limited to: Not calling hits, automatic fire from a rifle, etc.
-Harassment of other players or staff.
-Goggles removed or displaced during play.
-Lack of water on field.

Major Infractions - Result in the removal of all involved persons from the field. - Physical fighting between players or staff.
- Refusal to cooperate with event staff.
- Blatant disregard for safety of others or themselves.

Hazardous Behavior - Result in the removal of the perpetrator, his team, and potentially his squad from the field.

-Possession of real steel firearms, explosives, or large knives.
-Use of alcohol or illicit drugs during game play.

The Midwest MilSim and Out of the Box staff reserve right to remove players from the game for any reason, if deemed necessary, and without refund.

One thing I'm seeing a lack of in your kit lists are sleeping pads.

These keep lots of heat from escaping from your bag into the frozen ground. Even with one, I melted a body shaped hole through the snow a few weeks ago. Without one, I probably would have been miserable and cold, not to mention wet. They cost maybe $10-20 at a camping store and will definitely improve the quality of your sleep.
