Unhappy Bad Luck on the Field

First off, i didn't know whether or not i should put this in general discussion or in off topic. Yesterday, i attend an Open Play at MASC, before the games started, i want to check to see if my Well MB06 was shooting accuratly and it turns out it was shooting WAY up, i totally forgot my allen wrench to adjust the hop up, i finally found someone with an allen wrench, but it was getting close to the game and i didn't know if i could adjust it in the time i had. So i decide to take my MP7 and use it as a primary, The darn thing couldn't hit a target at 25 ft with little to no wind. so i go and rent a gun, a G&G Combat Machine M4, filled up my high cap and the game began, it felt good to go running up hills feeling like i'm playing Call of Duty in real life, then i fire my weapon on full auto, one bb comes out, so i thought i just misfed, no biggie, i just winded the high cap again, fire on full auto, one bb comes out. so i call myself out of the game (IT REALLY SUCKS TO DO THAT) and i went to the consession stand and said to the guy running it, "your highcap wont feed" and he was a little suprised, he did something with it, not sure what, and gave it right back to me. i went to their little shooting range a few feet away (where i tried to sight in my MB06 and found out my MP7 is worth nothing) and fired the gun on full auto after loading the highcap and winding, again one bb came out. so i come back and said "it still isn't working" so he gave me another high cap, so i load up the resivior full of bbs, and proceeded to wind, i winded and winded and winded forever, then the same guy comes into the building checking in on us (the players who were out) and i told him, "this one wont even feed the bbs" so he just gave me another Combat Machine (don't know how thats suppose to fix anything) so i go over to the range, filled up my 3rd high cap and winded, it actually feed, i took some shots, it sounded like the battery was going to die at any minute and the bbs were flying upward, i could not adjust the hop up because the dust cover was like sealed shut, so i said, "listen, i'm just going to call it a day, i knew i should of brought my AK-47 with me, i wouldn't even had a problem" then he says, "we dont want you to go" then there was a pause, he says "are you used to an AK?" i just nodded, so he brings out this AK and i proceed to install the battery, (It was stockless so it took stick types) so i noticed the connecters were towards the front of the gun instead of the back, but anyway i tried, i could not get the dust cover on, niether could the guy who gave me the rentals, so i just went home. I ran through 5 guns and had bad luck with all of them. Talk about bad luck

I know this would be a blog, but no one at AO hasn't givin me permission to write a blog.

Please tell me if i have spelling errors, i will fix them

leave a comment below and tell me your bad luck on the field

NOTE: the dialouge was not exactly what was said, i really don't remember what we said

Koala has a really good bad luck story from July '10 when none of the guns he had worked and he was stuck with a pump shotty and his ride left at lunch because they didn't like the game or something. It's some bad luck. He better tell it.

Anyways, for me. I was at a team practice and five minutes in I tripped. I basically bayoneted my M4 into a log, which made the whole gun FUBAR, and it is now. I don't know why, but I have had bad luck with every gun. My JG G36 lost a piece every time I used it, Echo 1 M16 was funky, and then this. I'm sure with my gun luck I could get an inaccurate TM...

The worst for me is when I have a perfect shot on someone but my trigger locked up from shooting semi a whole lot.

Damn you V2 gearboxes!

My worst luck ever was when I charged my backup battery for my AK and forgot to take it. When I go to the field I took the only one I had out of my bag and it literally spontaneously burst into flames. I had to throw it on the ground so it ddnt catch my car on fire. I had to use my mp5 the whole day instead....

I broke my gun, twice before the game even started.

And it was fine the day before.

One of my bad luck times was the day before an open at red dragon. The night before I went out to test my gun and about halfway through the mag it stopped firing. I went inside my friends house, he was taking us to the game. I was trying to figure out the problem and the only one I could think of was the motor connectors came loose or my battery randomly died. With my awesome luck my motor plate used allen screws and my friend has zero allen tools. We went to the game the nexy day and I had brought along my mp5 and sniper. I went to test my mp5 before the chrono and the fuse burnt and I didnt have any replacements, I took my sniper rifle to the chrono. After a few shots it chronoed in at 403, since im not 18 I cant use it. I took panda's shotgun and used that and my 1911. The shotgun was a real pain because it was almost impossible to get the stupid shell cover open. During the game I learned that my 1911 mag was leaky so I couldn't use that either. There I was in the woods with only a shotgun that I couldn't reload, I am actually kind of glad I left during lunch, I didn't have anything to use anyways. Basically every game I have went to I have had bad luck. I have lost pistol mags, my guns stopped working in game, I go to a friends to get a ride and forget a battery or my boots, the list goes on and on.....

Agreed. This is more along the lines of "bad preparation" than bad luck.

Rather than running a gimmicky lineup of guns as most beginners do, much can be said for redundancy. When you find a reliable form factor you like, buy a second.

May I lend you very very very important piece of info. When we * My team* have something to do the next day where we are going to wear gear and put BB's down range. We all get together the night before and maintain and adjust everything from shims to sighting in optics, to hop up to making sure all the mags feed ect ect. I would recommend doing something of that nature the next time you have plans bro. I know what it likes to be in that situation that is why we have team night the night before

Hope this helps a bit bro!

If I know I'm going to an event, I spend that entire week preparing myself for it. Usually involves me getting dressed in all of my gear, running around my house and making sure everything is working properly. I also disassemble the weapon I'll be using and making sure it's clean and functional. Nothing is worse than going to an event and finding out you have a short or a dry-rotted o-ring on your gun. Preparation man, It seems like all of this could have been avoided but then again, this crap always happens to us every now and then. All you can do is kick @$$ and chew bubble gum.

So you didn't have your own tools to make adjustmens and find out at the field, your backup gun isn't so great. Brother, you have no one to blame but yourself. Sorry but it is what it is. P.S. If you haven't already done so, I'd invest in spare mags and a spare battery.

I got it, I like it and am gonna use it, bru.

I've had those days too. Then I got fed up with them, got a whole set of tools I can take along. And two more guns that use the same mags and batts. And I haven't had to miss out since.

And btw, The Blind Sniper, you do have some spelling errors, as well as grammar and syntax (says the guy who starts sentences with conjunctions). You'd do well to edit before you post to make it more readable (I couldn't finish reading your original post), trust me it'll go a long way.

Before Operation Redemption II Hitman and I popped open my gearbox to change out the main spring for a weaker one (the part had only come in the mail that morning). A part of the trigger assembly in the gearbox was cast just a little off and we could not get the trigger return/reset spring installed properly. I was up till 0700 and had assembled the thing 20 to 30 times 15 different ways. I wound up not using the return spring and juryrigging the trigger with a rubber band. I took the thing in to Airsoft Arms after the game and even they could not fix it. I no longer open gearboxes but instead just buy whole new stock assemblies when they go down.

I was asleep for less than 45 minutes before my roomate, hangover from a night of drunken rockband in the living room, starts pounding on my door demanding I help him get ready for the op. I did what any good mentor should and helped square him away in the morning. I slept a little on the rides to the prison. Final sleep count less than 1.5 hours for a night game that lasted 12.

Even with said sleepless night I still killed many a tan player that night with my ghetto rigged rig. Adapt and overcome!

there are 2 things I've learned going to a big game.

1: never, never work on your gun the night before. if and when something breaks, you are sol.

2: always bring every tool you would possibly need to work on your stuff for when it breaks on the field.

I first learned this when I used to play tournament paintball. every time I had a game or practice, usually my gun would have something go wrong with it, but even sometimes other ppl would need tools for their stuff. I seem to have the worst luck with my guns when I really want them to work.
