MW2: Multiplayer details leaked?

The information was gathered from a leaked version of the 360 version that hit the interwebz today. There was video up on YouTube for a while, and then it was immediately taken down. If you feel like snooping around you might be able to find it as well as the video, I quit caring after ten minutes so I leave that to you! I don't know about you guys, but some of this stuff looks a little on the ridiculous side. I stumbled upon it today, and thought I would throw it up here for everyone, since video games tend to be a hot topic around here. Have fun debating its value, I enjoy reading it all!

New perks and new multiplayer information can be found on IGN.com. To find this info search Call of Duty Modern Warefare 2 and look for the videos about the new multiplayer.

Sorry for being such a newbie about this game but what is a "perk" ?
To me, it sounds like a perk is a way to be better than what you actually are. I mean yes I can see that those using a SAW versus an M4 would have an handicap but beyond that, I have no clue what could be the purpose.

I am not really seeing that this information was posted on IGN... You have a link to that? Because the newest posting I see is on the first of November, and this stuff leaked today, the second. And for the videos, the newest is from the 19th. Once again, I am talking about stuff that dropped today. It was controversial enough for Infinity Ward to have it pulled from YouTube, and they are trying to track down the torrents where the game can be downloaded.
Unless you can pull a link, then for now I'll stick with what I found...  Perks are like passive bonuses for your character. A good analogy would be to think of it as stuff your guy is good at- fast reloading, hip firing, and stuff like that. You pick stuff that you are good at, weapons and their attachments, and your rewards you get for killing lots of people. That is a really simple explanation, but I think that works... LOL.

Am I the only one who thinks there could be too many kill streaks, spaced too closely together? Once you get one you might as well get all of them.

I was thinking the same thing, and I was wondering one other...
When you get a good kill streak will it carry over to the next respawn? One thing I always did in CoD4 was to get a chopper, not use it until I died, then use it to get another chopper after I respawned. Especially in Headquarters where kills don't end the game, I could keep choppers up the whole game and walk out of the match with close to a hundred kills and routinely get at least 50.

Over and over again... That is what is broken, I was always felt, about the multiplayer kill streaks giving the player an automated killing machine for a reward. It turns into a reward that keeps on rewarding. And a Nuke? Wait until respawn and then drop it and get at least another 3 or more kills without firing a shot...

I honestly don't care considering the game is 8 days away. I can wait and would rather not spoil it or get my hopes up (damn you bungie and odst for destroying my high hopes)

I like the Bling Perk. That is is thing I hated about the first COD. I always wanted to run Suppressor and Red Dot.

Sadly MW2 will be O.K. at best, or at least for the PC version, for us pc gamers (the few left) with no dedicated servers, and these ridiculous perk systems, this is gonna have to be a pass. I will refuse to buy or play until there are at least some dedicated servers. I WILL NOT BE A FAN BOY!!

Honestly, I like Battlefield better anyways... But not getting MW2 if you like shooters and have a love for online play, will leave you pretty lonely for a while. Waiting for something else to come out, It will be like the summer game draught all over again waiting for spring...

Great find man! 7days! Can't wait hopefully it lives up to the hype we shall see.
I'm hoping they keep this kill-streak stuff to a minimum too much of it seems a bit over-kill i love all the added support and gadgets but hopefully they put enough spread between these where its not a barrage of deaths. I'm actually more excited to play threw the single-played than the multiplayer and for a shooter thats a big deal. Great find on the details man, i haven't seen anybody notice a juggernaut perk so maybe?!?

I think it's funny IW had to break their media blackout because of the leaked game and it's single player controversial content. It's too tempting to play COD6 early.
Oh and the kill steak rewards is ****in stupid. A tac nuke? Really? The perks seem cool, but I always used the M16 w/reddot, stopping power, sprint, & extra ammo.

For those worried about the kill streaks adding up too fast, remember that there are death streak perks as well to help even it out.

I thought so too.
Maybe in their shoes I would have let it go. Blacking it out is already a unstoppable thing. I checked a torrent site, and I am going to keep them on the DL ( I don't want to get sued and all ), and the game is there, the fire is spreading, and there really isn't anything they can do about it. Being this silent about it is also a little bit crazy, remember how open Bungie was with Halo 3 in summer 2007? There was a lot of stuff that was fixed before release because of community input. If it is blacked out, and then people aren't "hip" to it, then things might get ugly. Gamers on all platforms like to feel like a piece of the games they love, keeping things too tight leads to things like this. People are already judging the game based on perks and kill streaks, I know I am a little, without ever playing. Oh well...
