Debating Between Guns, well brand of Glocks.

So I am looking for a new sidearm. I am being very picky.

I have had a WE 1911 MEU, KJW P229, HFC G17, and a KWA NS1 USP Compact.

I am not a fan of the 1911. The SIG was too bulky (maybe I would have liked the 226 better), I love my HFC G17 but it doesn't perform the best, the KWA USP was nice but it was NS1 and has some internal problems.

Everyone seems to love KJW but with my SIG I had 3 mags, all were brand new, all leaked. Was that a fluke from the 229? I don't want to buy a KJW and have the same problem again.

So for my new pistol I am thinking of getting one of the ones listed below:

KWA USP NS2 (Maybe the compact)

TM, KJW, (Maybe WE) Glock, either 17 or whatever the sub compact is, G23 or G19 I think? (No full auto)

I really love glocks so I am pretty sure I will end up with another Glock.

TM does not thrill me because it is plastic, gotta order from Asia I believe, and it costs the most.

KJW does not thrill me because I had such horrible luck with leaky mags with my 229. And they don't seem to be all that common.

WE doesn't thrill me because of the suggested lack of performance compared to the other brands. And half of everyone says they do not fit in a serpa.

My questions are these:

KJW Glocks? I am going to be throwing money into the mags? Can I even find what I am looking for in the US in stock?

How much will it set me back to get a TM G17 and replace it with a metal slide? Will these be orders place from Asia?

Should I just opt out for the WE Glocks because they are cheaper, easy to get, and they aren’t as rare or will the lack of performance be that much different to the KJW or TM?

I am open to buying used as well. For simple sake I just left it as everything being bought new.

KJW mags leak. This is a historically proven fact on all KJW GBBs since the dawn of time. I'm sure there's even something in the Bible about it. But, a leaking mag is an entirely fixable problem to have. This can be addressed with minimal repairs at best.

WE aren't perfect, but they are workable. I wish people would consider this before trashing them. Consider the reason why you hear so much about them is because they are very popular and common-place. Also consider what it would cost to convert any other design all the while WE still work out of the box.

What you have to do to make them more reliable - a hop bucking, maybe an inner barrel, a piston, a set of springs or a magazine valve - all of them marui compatible parts that you would still have to buy if you ran a marui but without having to spend another $100 on metal body or outer barrel.

I did a total evaluation of the WE g17 to the TM G17 on my Sakujosei youtube channel check it out, it may answer some questions for you. My WE mags for the g17 didn't have issues and are also compatible with marui mags.

Sorry if this may not be one of your options, but I have a kwa ATP, and I know it is not exactly a glock but it still has the features of one. I've had it for over a year now, and it hasn't failed on me yet.

Ambrose, I have looked at the ATP but I prefer the ligit Glock over it. I do know it is a well prforming gun.

Texx, I think I am going to go with a WE. Since KJW mags leak, since the dawn of time, to me it is just easier to have something that is not broken out of the box.

After what sakujosei said about rebuilding a WE Glock 17 I am pretty much down for that. Grab a decent WE G17, slowly replace things as they either need it or I want better preformance.

To forget the Serpa proplem I am just going to Kydex to make life easy. I prefer those over Serpas anyways.

Just get a KSC glock
They're cheap, mags are easy to find in the US, KWA stocks replacement parts, and out of all the Airsoft glocks, the KSC is the most compatible with real parts

Check out stark arms s17,s18, s19. Before glock stop allowing trades on Airsoft weapons the handguns were complete copies of the RS handguns. The mags do not leak at all and they have the range of short barrel rifles. And ALL models have the ability to go full auto. I can't speak high enough about the stark arms "glocks". Also mags are $19 for the standard and $31 for the 50 round mags.

Where do you buy stark arms because I've never heard of them and if you talk so high of them I've wanted a glock 18 or 19 for a while

I purchased mine from Airsoft GI but you can order right from their site or ehobbyasia.com. The 18 and 19 are nice. The 19 is kinda small in my opinion.

I concur with all save the kjw leaking mags. perhaps they have improved or I have gotten lucky; my two kjw mags haven't had any leaking issues whatsoever. no new seals installed after about a year and a half of ownership. though time will tell...

One thing i shall add to this discussion is WE mags are compatible with KJW... with a slight modification. the WE G17 mags have a extruded notch on the rear of the magazines. it will need to be filed down for it to fit properly in a KJW glock. this being said, its a solid piece of metal and filing of it has had no negative effects on the magazine so far.

From experience, I have had better luck with KJW than WE. in fact my only real complaints are that the finish on KJW glock slides is glossy and scratches if you so much as look at it funny. Mine also doesn't like temperatures above 90 degrees, and it seems most don't from what I've read elsewhere. Other than these minor issues though, at 105 off evike for the upper and lower, the KJW glock is a fine gun
