G&P AK mag troubles, help?

Hi everyone -

Just wondering if anyone could tell me how to take apart a G&P ak mag.

I need to know so that I can oil the mag so it can feed properly and I can eliminate feed problems.

Thanks.

You really don't need to take the mag apart to oil it, just spray oil in the top of the magazine.

But if you *really* want to take the mag apart, theres a little metal clip on one of the thin sides of the magazine, bend that back, and slide the bottem off, then the internals should slide out.

Cheers

What exactly do you mean by "thin sides".

Apparently there might be 2 clips if I'm looking at the same thing.

thin meaning the (in real steel version) how the rounds would go into the gun.

Yes, there is a front and back tab, you only need to bend one of these to slide the bottem of the mag off It might be a bit tight to get off, and require some pounding because of the paint.

Best thing to do, is about 3 sprays. One short in the spring area or crack that pushes the bb stopper over the bb to keep them from flying out. Two, medium squirt in beginning of bb tube. and Three, about a medium to tad longer squirt with that extension your silicone can or lubing can should come with - the red extender normally - that goes into the nozzle - spraying as you move down the bb tube pushing the plastic part over the spring down till you cant go any further, to get down to the bottom of the mag.

Just to make absolutely sure, you mean the top where the bbs go in, correct.

It seems like on one side, if looking at the magazine where it would curve away from you, that there is one clip with a metal rod that runs through it.

On the other is a clip that covers the WHOLE top of the magazine, as in the cover over the bb and the winding mechanism.

Do I simply take a hammer to the part that has the WHOLE cover on it and gently tap it to get the top to "pop" off? It appears the other "clip" is there just to secure the magazine into the gun, and NOT to hold the top in place. If so, how does the top keep from popping off?

I'm not very good at these things so I might be off in my interpretations.

Also, is there a guide for how to take the clip apart?

Thanks for the help so far.

As you mentioned, in the part on the top front of the mag (the metal part that secures the front of the mag in the mag well) there is a metal rob going through it. Push out that rod, the metal clip it goes through will now come off and then you should just be able to pull out the entire internals set by pullin on the plastic top of the mag.

I have tried to push out that rod, but it's extremely hard.

Even with a hammer and "punch" (as I have no actual ones) I only succeeded in getting the rod to push out a tiny bit.

Any help?

:(

I still haven't been able to take the mag apart.

Is anyone else able to help, or does anyone else know of a guide or something for taking the ak mag apart. (It is different then the m16s or the other mags I believe, I KNOW it's different then the m16 mag (how it's "held together"))

Help?

HELP!!!

I have taken the mag apart (finally).

Lost a screw and the little spring for mag release and found them again, after much searching.

And, STILL, can't get the spring to go back in right.

How the hell are you supposed to get the spring back in!!

*I'm so frustrated...*
