G18C Magazine Problems

I had a high cap mag for my G18C GBB. At some event I had a guy ask to see if it fit in his gun, and he jammed it in kinda hard....some gas leaked out. He refilled the lost gas, and things went on. Last week I was testing out my gear for the new season, and I found that whenever I put my mag in the gun, gas leaked out continuously. This only happened with the high cap, my low cap works fine. Visibly there is no damage. Is this trash? Or is it fixable?

Well if it is a problem with the valve, you could always upgrade to the Hurricane Valve kit for the Glock series... you would gain about 30fps and fix the problem all at the same time.

I would imagine that he broke the valve, its pretty hard to do otherwise. Like Seabass said, you can buy a replacement valve for a few dollars or you can upgrade to a high-flow valve. But if you go high-flow I believe you will have to upgrade your recoil spring as well.

Just a few minutes and a flathead screw driver. If your gun is a KWA/KSC, its not hard at all. You do know how to field strip the slide from the main gun frame? Once you take the slide off, the spring is right there and pops out with no effort.

I think the kit comes with just about everything. You will need a few tools, but nothing major I dont believe. I have an older airsoft magazine that shows how to install it step by step. Most likely there are some manuals online that you could find to get an idea of what is needed/how to install.

Keep in mind, if you upgrade your recoil spring, you will want to upgrade ALL of your mags to high flow valves.

The thought had crossed my mind, "how will my normal mag perform once the spring is upgraded?" Thanks for the tip.

Were you using the mag in cold weather? You might have busted an O ring inside the valve, which you would need a new valve for. Also, is the the lip that connects to the gun ontop of the mag oily? I have had mine dry up and cause me to get a new mag.
