Ideas for a indoor field

Ok I am just wondering if a new indoor place was to open what would you like to see inside it? Play area? proshop?

Thanks,
Sgt. Roc

That sounds like it would be fine to me. Some Krogers are pretty big

An on-site pro shop would be nice so you could buy bbs and gas for the games and then some room to room fighting areas with some longer hallways or corridors would give you a nice mix a true cqb and distance fighting. Perhaps make the barriers and stuff out of lighter material so you can change the layout pretty easily like CIA does from time to time, that would keep the experience interesting because it might be a different layout every time you go.

I agree with yost93 indoor fields can get boring ounce every angle is exploited. Smoke machines and lighting can be combined to create a chaotic mood. The use of the buildings rooftop during the summer would be an awesome addition.

Pro shop with a easily customizable field. (Meaning able to move things around to switch it up, sorta like CIA's layout on there 3rd floor)

Also location is key, Cleveland has CIA, Cinn has Blackops.

I always thought of making it like a mall. Having stores with fake isles and rooms. Making narrow hallways and then big open areas. Put more then two different ways of approaches. And like others said make it easy to move around so it's different every time.

Lots of room. Like, lots of room. Leave the staging area and pro-shop to a minimum in order to allow for more area.

Some area that is made with two stories. Have many rooms inside mock buildings so that you really have to use team work to clear. Also some background noise would simulate the fog of war.

I'm going to disagree slightly with swimmer. I agree that you should maximize the playing field, but you need to have enough staging area for the numbers of people playing. IE, if your field can hold 100 people, an 8x8 room will not accommodate everyone.

Also a pro shop doesn't need to have a ton of space, but you need lots of inventory. So storage and organization is critical.

I agree. You could always have different walls for different guns and the your rentals could be locked up in the back.

I agree with everyone, especially about getting the most play area, but having the staging area still large enough for everyone. I would want to see a pretty good pro shop though. Not just bb's, gas, and face masks. Maybe like fallen warriors but a little more professional. Idk, but if this happens, I would be there in a flash. Delta19, are you wondering, or thinking about doing it? There's a large old krogers in Lebanon Ohio that is for lease. They built a new one and just forgot about the old one

I think a sweet idea would be to have a large permanent two story kill house and then some smaller more open buildings in front of it.

That's a good idea. I would like it being a small city or mall.

Small city urban style place would be great. We all see the videos of the places in Cali and we want to try them. Why not bring it to ohio?

Best environment for an indoor field? Space.

This here is a catch 22, however. The space (sq. foot) should be big enough to allow for a large number of players to roam freely throughout the field (CQBCity for example). This space allows a good mix of line-of-sight engagements.

On another note, to keep it dynamic enough, from no single point on the field should you be able to shoot further than 30 feet in any direction. This would be the ultimate layout in terms of dynamics, but advantages are often one sided.

If a field manages to maintain a good amount of dynamics (rather than just plopping bits and pieces of cover across a given area), and provides a large amount of space in order to play, then it would be perfect for Close Quarters Battle.

I do like the idea of no more then 30 ft in any direction. But I would like one point that is really exposed. Making teams have to think the layout through and decided on what course to take.

Usually places aren't big enough so if there is one flaw like that there is usually only one way around that
