Is JG Even Worth Investing

I might buy a JG G36c or a JG m4 but i do not know how nice the quality is please tell me what you think. I also heard a rumor that JG is a OEM of Echo1 and they re-brand their products.

Thanks

If you get one go with the G36. I've had one for almost 2 years and it stills runs like a champ.

JG's are hit-and-miss. Their quality control isn't like Echo 1, TM, or CA. Some of their guns can match their more expensive competition, while others should be dropped in Walmart. JG basically puts together the gun and boxes it, from what I know they don't check if it works or offer any sort of warranty. If you MUST get a JG, as Master Chief said, their G36C is the SAFEST option. Echo 1 DOES rebrand JG, CYMA, and AGM, but their quality control is a lot better than either of the 3 previously mentioned.

I personally think that JG would be good as a starter gun for some who is mechanically inclined. I say this because they are cheap and if you can work on them then you can get them to the level they need to be. This goes back to the endless clone Vs high end gun debate. The fact is, guns break and you should be able to do basic stuff to your gun, ie piston swap, spring, etc. A JG would be a good gun to work on because if you completely screw it up, you out a little bit of money, but not the 300-500 dollars if you had bought a CA or TM.

JG's Quality control is typically checked by the End Retailer. Retailers such as ASGI, eVike, Etc. will typically (or they should) check the gun for operation before shipping and offer a 30-day warranty. One thing I do like about ASGI is they actually fire the weapons and put an inspection sheet with chrono testing with each gun they ship.

I've had good luck with the JGs I've owned. Their G36c is one of the best guns they make. The M16 and M4 variants I've owned have had some issues with the hop that are easily corrected with a file.

They aren't perfect guns by any means, but they are a workable solution if you are willing to spend the time on them.

If you aren't willing to hassle with that, spend the money on a brand supported by the manufacturer. You still have the chance of getting a crap gun, but you can get support from the manufacturer if it happens. You always have the option of buying from a JG Retailer that offers a better warranty or sending it to a airsmith to iron out any out of box issues you run across. And you can always send it back tot he retailer if its a warranty issue.

Like everyone else said they're hit or miss. If your a beginner and are just testing out this sport, then this is probably your best bet because it's cheap. But if Airsoft is something that you know your gonna want to do for a long time then just get a classic army or something like that. I say this because, just like I have done, eventually your going to want to put a metal body on it and all this tacticool stuff on it.

It'll be cheaper in the long run to just get a "better" gun to begin with.

The JG AK is a hit or miss. In my case it was a hiss. It's got it's good days and bad days. But overall I love it. Just remember: Always get a new battery.

I have a JG g36k that was bought used, not a hiccup with it so far. It sat with a battery in it for about 4-5 months. I picked it up after all that time and it was still shooting straight.

Mine is a jg sr-16. Just an m4 with full stock. Overall good gun, could be much better though. My brother has an echo1 g36c. Stock it shot faster and more accurate than my jg.

You may want to look into the JG G3 also. My brother bought one a couple years back and it's still running strong. It has great range, rof, and accuracy right out of the box.

Guys, watch the naming of specific guns, mods like to eat opion-aters. money wise, JG m4 S-systems is your best bet because of the included full metall forward RIS Rails and how easy it is to learn with. Battery is easy to put in etc etc. If you wanna upgrade it, since it's TM based, the sky is the limit since m4's are the MOST customizable guns out there. Both RS and airsoft.

Overall. JG is cheap and good for beginners. Not incredibly reliable, but of course still gets the job done. I have a modded JG MP5S5 and love to use it just for fun as a loaner and a great gun for me collection.

For the little bit of warranty you do get with the Echo 1, my personal opinion would lean towards that. Also, more reputable dealers, such as Ohio Airsoft dealers (AA, AS, 321) carry Echo 1, so you know if you buy from any one of those companies, you would have dealer support as well.

I've had a lot of trouble with my Echo1 M4 it may have been a lemon, I'm not sure. However, my JG G36c with the exception of a hop-up issue was very nice.

I was gonna say that!

Be careful with the JG G36c. The lower on my JG G36c literally started to fall apart after one game... Maybe it was just a lemon, but it made me go TM.
