Defcon5 makes a DDPM plate carrier but it is a version of the maritime ciras and since it is new, it runs around $200. They also have a recon harness that would be about the same price. I don't think they are based on British used gear - more of generic PC and harness.

The color in the pic is off, because it actually matches DDPM when seen in person:

Note that the pouches in the PC will hold M4 or HK33 sized mags. I think they will fit G36 mags too but I don't have any to test with.

Recon harness:

Both are also available in regular DPM.

Nice vest. I think they still run alot of PLCE webbing as well. You can find that on Ebay real cheap, from time to time.

Yep, both the Assault Vests and PLCE are still in use. Believe it or not, even P58 webbing is still used by some Pathfinder (Recce) forces because of the long-range load carrying capability.

In the first attached pic below, PLCE in the middle, and Assault Vest on the left.
In the second pic, Assault Vest in the middle, and PLCE is on the right.
In the third and fourth pics, it's pretty much all Assault Vests.

I've always liked LBE, like the PLCE, over any tactical vest. For me, LBE is more comfortable and more breathable. But I guess at the end of the day, It's all personnal preference.

Have some new updates coming, but thought I would post this interesting photo I found. UK SFSG members with... (gasp) AKs! I guess they really do have a lot of options. Also notice the chest rigs.

When I get back on my feet in the airsoft world I would love to get a DPM layout. It looks so smooth and screams badass.

I also am planning on finally working on a British loadout. Going to do some cleaning in the next few weeks to sell off some gear to fund it.

Can't wait to get my hands on an L85 and some Brit gear. Will probably be aiming not so much current day, but maybe one or two years back.

I can't wait to see your loadout to maybe get some ideas for mine if you don't mind. I see this British loadout style catching on. It would be amazing to have a group or team that has a strong British base. Not only is it something new but would look great on the field.

I saw that Torque. I joined and would like to let you know I am very serious and would love to see British style of play thrive. It's so under rated.

All these Arktis love takes me back to the old days. One of my first vests was an Arktis "Battle Vest" (can't remember the designation number.) I like what this thread has going so far. I'd like to see some Early Astan SBS rigs. Esp. some from the Qala I Jangi battle.

Simple loadouts, but I love em' none the less.

Hey guys if you want to look for some Arktis vests, I found a bunch on sale in Ebay (Thanks to guidance of Torque). So if Arktis is your thing, jump in the bandwagon now because I know I'm buying one.

So far I have a complete Desert-DPM Loadout minus the MK.6/7 helmet. Now I am working on the DPM loadout. Also a reminder, if you guys are as interested in British loadouts and operations, the O-UKSOC is always welcoming new members.

The point is I had the rig in 2004 or 2005. Now nearly 7 plus years ago, the sport has just changed alot (static rigs were much more common then, as were this specific brand) It's not the current availability I was describing.

I just ordered the Arktis M173. Looks like a great piece of equipment. I can see why you guys loved them so much.

Regarding L85's: I know "which are the best" isn't really allowed, but I've played with all three brands of L85's, and when comparing and contrasting cost vs. performance, the ARMY is the way to go.

The ICS has some nice features, but it has a slow ROF and VERY sluggish trigger response, even with a 9.6.
The G&G, which the ARMY is based off of, for the most part is meh across the board. I thought the performance was average, but awful for the $400.00 price tag or so. The furniture is spot on with the real steel, or so I've been told. With looking pretty out on the field, you need to function as a player too.

I would say the ARMY would be the way to go, even though it has a franken gearbox made up of SR16 parts I believe, for the price, it's a great deal; and even when you fix what few bugs it has, it is still relatively inexpensive. I know a few years back, on Evike the stock gun was $158.00 and the upgraded version, with new shims, piston, piston head, etc. was $200.00

I'm not bashing the other brands, just throwing this out there for the people who are looking to buy weapons specifically for this loadout. My ICS has served me well over the years. It just needed lots of skills I didn't have to make it what it could have been.

I've heard good and bad from all three. But we can't forget that the British use a lot more than L85/86 style weapons. Hell, SAS has been known to use guns from HK416 to your standard AK. So in all honest, we aren't limited on weapon styles as much as people think.

Thank goodness. I can afford to alter my gear and rig but if I had to buy an L85/L86 I well, wouldn't. Soon I'll be purchasing a Kimber rim fire and a tattoo so it would pose a problem. Glad to hear the group is pretty laid back in loadout terms. I might even buy the British style comms if I can. We should get the group together and hit up an event. It would be awesome to play with you guys. I literally just sold all of my things related to airsoft and just built my new kit. Switched from a plate carrier to an RRV with matrix replication body armor and swapped my 1911 out for two Sig p226's. I'm so excited to finally play with gear I'm happy with. And look forward to playing with a great group of guys!

Word of warning Vapor, DPMs are hard to find. Sometimes you can fine tops but no bottoms, other times, bottoms with no tops. It takes a wile but eventually you'll find some. If you need pointers where to find items, you've got a bunch of guys here you can PM.

Btw side note, I've got an extra British DDPM shirt that won't fit me. It was supposed to be a large, but it is equivalent to a size Medium Reg in U.S. sizing. So if anyone wants it, please PM me for pricing or trade options.
