Thumbs up JTech, Eagle, BLACKHAWK!, and Condor Stress Test/Comparison

Here is an interesting video on the quality of major Tactical Gear Brands. It is a little longer of a video, but it is worth it. JTech Stress Test:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuW5j...&feature=share

I've identified the brands of each vest.

C-brand=Condor
B-brand=BLACKHAWK!
E-brand=Eagle Industries

I'm actually quite shocked at the results. Eagle Industries, at least the civy versions, fail tremendously and apparently isn't worth the money you spend. One thing did annoy me though: Why didn't they test Pantac or Flyye?

Overall, a great comparison video. I own a JTech pouch myself, and I must say, for something that isn't American made and is quite affordable, it is incredibly well built. Nearly as well built as my Eagle pouches.

What do you all think? And for those of you who don't know what JTech is, here is their website: http://www.jtechgear.com/

Civi EI fails because its now being made in the Dominican Republic. Have you seen any of the pics of the major stitching issues?

I have. I've seen lots of pics. Stitching made sewn together too tight, making it impossible for molle strips to get through. Unreinforced stitching. Stitching sewn like someone fell asleep while doing it, etc. There are a bunch of problems with Eagle's civy stuff. Not worth anything near what you spend. I've seen Pantac and Flyye do much better than what Eagle does with their civy stuff now.

However, the fabric on the, what looks to be, EPC is a failure of Cordura, not EI. Plus, EI will fix it for free

But yeah, some of the EI civi stuff now is pretty sad...

You are right. I must give credit to EI for being easy and willing with their warranty.

But could it be avoided in the first place by reinforced stitching in that area? Not Eagle's necessarily Eagle's fault, I agree, but there's gotta be a way to avoid it.

The fact that they used different styles of vests doesn't help their test. The stitch location could be reinforced by design on one vest but not on another.

The 4 (Vietnam, DR, Taiwan & China) different locations for their tailoring/stitch work makes a big difference too. Depending on the workers' experience, competency and the material they used that could of been another factor which resulted in the failure.

They used as close of vests as they could. They used what was available to the public, i.e., Condor MBSS, BLACKHAWK! Enhanced Commando harness, Eagle Industries PC w/out cummerbund, and a JTech Socom Gear Mesh plate carrier w/out cummerbund. So they are all pretty similar.

Wish they did Pantac, Flyye, Condor, EI. All have MBSS carriers. 3 Chinese stitch vs 1 US. 2 US material vs 2 (unknown).

Eagle Industries/Allied Industries MBSS plate carriers cost an excess of $500+ and aren't very available to the general public, so I see why they didn't get one just to do a test. However, I do wish they used the Pantac and Flyye MBSS.

Anyone paying $500+ for a EI/AA MBSS needs to be beat with a rubber hose because they got raped and didn't know it. However since they're located in Taiwan their cost might be $500.

I paid $450 for my EI SPC but those at the time were restricted (Still are I believe) and not dime a dozen like now. I've come across them new in plastic for $250.

Anyways thanks for the video. You should email them and ask for a Pantac, Condor, Flyye & JTech Test.

Really?! Wow, I've got to look around some more.

I may just email them. I'd love to see a Pantac and Flyye comparison to all this stuff as well.

If you look in locations (Online, Craigslist etc) around bases, you can find good stuff. I got my SPC from a online collectors store near Twenty Nine Palms.
