M249 spring?

Hey, will a stock A&K m249 handle an m130 spring? And is there a certain type of spring I need to get or are all springs built to the same specs? And what fps will that kind of spring give me? Thank you!

I hate to ask how an m140 shoots at a legal fps, but I'll take your word for it. In any case, you may need to reinforce your piston. I've had a little trouble with m130's breaking cheap pistons.

Madbull m140's shoot 450-470 (supposedly) and the legal limit at 90% of the fields in Ohio (if not at all) is 400

The stroke on a M249 is longer than a normal AEG. Thats why you can run a stronger spring and stay legal. Don't expect the same FPS per spring that you get in an AEG. An M249 will always chrono lower with the same spring.

I own 3 SAW's and an m130 in my saw is over the legal limit. I know because I can't use it at various fields. An m140 is definitely illegal

I had the first SAW in Ohio 10 years ago. And your point is? It also depends on what else has been done to the gun. But on a stock gun, the fps will be lower.

That I know from personal experiance anything over an m130 (Unless Armand's Compression is really bad) isn't legal when chrono'd with .2's

People that use m140's are those who hype up to 450 fps which use to be the legal limit for SAW's at some field, but no longer is.

Or people that have massive air leaks in their compression system.

Or unless you play at an event which allows fps over 400 for SAW's. Such as Lion Claws IRENE series which is 400 w/ .25 (or 420ish w/ .20). Without more info you can't say its illegal with a blanket statement.

I've run a M140 in my TOP SAW converted to PGC V3 gearbox many times. Chrono is about 425. All depends on the gun. Dropped in a M130 for IRENE last weekend. Chrono was 380ish w/ .25.

If they'd like, sure! If not, I know there are others that can help.

I'll allow the fact that perhaps you didn't read my post entirely. I stated Ohio fields, Lion Claws currently isn't in Ohio.

On the A&K M60s and SAWs (same gearbox) you can run an M140 spring and be right at 400 fps. They do have a longer stroke and the piston does not go all the way forward (like what was said). It helps when you guys mention what brands you are using. I think the E1 and A&K are the same, but I dont know this for sure, that is why I am saying the A&K M60s/SAWs are like that. CA, G&P, etc I dont know, never worked on them.

Please take a chill pill guys, no need to get into a pissing match/argument.
