There are a lot of guns that have the C AF trademark. Also where did you buy the gun. NO VFC WILL EVER COME SHOOTING 195fps. Take a picture with the upper receiver off and I will be able to tell you if its VFC or not.
VFC will have a clear hop up. and a black stock motor. IF they are not its not a VFC. You also wouldnt have needed to replace the piston. IF its a clear piston that was stock then its possibly a VFC.

Reseaon im concerned is that you would have no posted saying its VFC if you didnt want people to be possitive. I just want people to know IF you actually have a VFC or a FAKE.

Also what TLC does it need.

Also bottom logo on lower receiver looks as if it says ASGI.

"C AF" = Colt Alcoa Forge....nothing to do with VFC as they are forge marks found on Colt AR upper receivers.

No! Just because its asgi doesn't mean it's g&g. This is OEMed by vfc. There is a lot of controversy. I you Actualy researched you would find out its a vfc.

Would you care to show us the "Vega Force Company - Taiwan" marking on the right side of the upper receiver? Or perhaps the GB Tech markings on the Gearbox?

Please read ASGI's site:

http://www.airsoftgi.com/index.php?cPath=139_70_302

VFC are marketed by SOCOM Gear and Elite Force (Umarex) in the US.

Look at this gun.

I am sorry, Texx, but you are mistaken. This is an ASGI FMG4 and it is indeed manufactured by VFC. I have worked on a number of them and I even owned a regular VFC for quite some time. From the pictures, you can see the dull gray gearbox shell VFCs are known for, along with the chromed cylinder, flat-faced air seal nozzle, clear hopup unit with oversized black locking ring (not to be confused with the C-clip), subtle swell in the motor grip to allow the motor to properly seat since VFC grips are unusually thin, and surface texture of the motor grip itself. It is definitely a VFC. I have owned one in the past and I can safely say that this is definitely a VFC.

Sorry Jonesy, I don't believe it. ASGI is tightlipped on its origin - perhaps for legal reasons, so even though it may look and sound like a duck, it could still be a goose (4). Would think ASGI would openly market if it was actually legitimate VFC components. But its sitting in their custom section where all the other G&G crap is. As for research its all speculative at best with most people arguing as to its true origin.

VFC, themselves are known to OEM through several different manufacturers at times. If it were a VFC product, it would have VFC markings. G4 is ASGI's Frankengun. The true origin is ASGi's secret.

When you have first-hand knowledge of its origin based on the parts found inside the gearbox instead of where it's categorized on a retailer's web site, you can be sure of such things. Airsoft GI is very tight-lipped about the origin of their G4 series so they can pull the wool over people's eyes, something you've fallen prey to in this case. To my knowledge, this FMG4 is the only gun in their G4 lineup that isn't manufactured by G&G so I can see where such a misconception would come from.

It's not speculation, it's a fact. This gun is a VFC, period. There is nothing else to it. If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck, a person knowledgable about ducks and experienced with ducks will be able to tell you if it's a duck and what kind or breed of duck it is. They might even be able to tell you if it's a male or female if they know how to identify the subtle differences between a male duck and a female duck without having to be too intrusive to the poor duck's privacy, if you catch my drift.

If the OP would like to open the gun up and post some pictures of it, we would see the following:

1. Self-shimming black sintered gears
2. Black steel 8mm bushings
3. Chromed brass cylinder
4. Clear polycarbonate tappet plate
5. Black ball bearing spring guide
6. Flat-faced crosscut air seal nozzle

Outside the gearbox, we would see a functioning bolt catch, clear polycarbonate hopup chamber with black hardware and black bucking (done), ferrite magnet motor with black nylon end bell, and a small straight-slot screw that screws into the threads in the back of the spring guide instead of the buffer tube bolt, which threads into the lower receiver itself.

Now if you'd open a G&G, you'd see the following:

1. Bronze 8mm bushings
2. Grey sintered gears with no self-shimming BS
3. Black nylon tappet pate
4. Black standard air nozzle
5. Brass cylinder
6. Black nylon piston
7. G&G markings on gearbox shell
8. Grey ferrite magnet motor with black nylon end bell
9. Grey plastic hopup unit with green hardware and a lime green bucking

Tell me, Texx, how many G&G M4s come with a functioning bolt catch? That is a very uncommon feature across all brands and I've yet to see or hear of one being found in any G&G M4 variant.

As you can see, those of us here that know what we're talking about have already confirmed beyond a shadow of a doubt that it's a VFC.

BUYER BEWARE! THIS IS A VFC!

Thank you, Jonesy.

To those of you paying attention, if you want questions answered, give someone an opportunity to prove you wrong.
