Post How does your team operate?

My team (so far) is split into two squads of three. Both team leaders have a long distance radio. The squad leaders consist of me and a close comrade. We both give direct orders to our squad and succesfully complete the mission.
How do you nad your team operate?

Our operating system is WindowsXP. We got few issues with Windows 7 so we did not upgrade yet.

I see what you did there.

Since you only have 6 people I would suggest going to one fireteam. For the Raiders, a squad is divided into two 4 man fireteams, a squad leader and RTO. It seems to work well for OPs, but for open plays gaggles seem to work pretty well.

Cmon! Don't give away all of your secrets Blade!

Basically, It depends on the team, objective, event, weather, numbers of opfor, assets available, etc, etc, etc.

In general conduct, I would say the well known and or established Mil-Sim teams on AO act in a respectful, friendly, competitive and safe way whenever they play.

Something to get you started: http://warriortactics.net/index.php?...quad&Itemid=60

Two FIRETEAMS of three is actually workable. It gives you a fire and maneuver element. Do you have any SAW's or special weapons?

We pretty much just let Slacker disappear behind enemy lines to do the crazy things he does... The movie Deliverance is probably the closest thing to compare that to. The rest of us like to stick together in 1 large squad or 2-3 fire teams depending on the objective and we do whatever the C.O. tells us to do. Our mentality is pretty simple: Take the objective or die trying.

No, right now we have a VERY small armory. Me and the other squade leader are the only ones that have rifles the others pistols. one of the men just got a G36c actually. the ohers are getting there weapons soon. My most used stratigy is one fire team exacutes and initial strike on a possition and the second stays back for support fire and can be called in for reinforcments.

We get shot, walk up to respawn, and get into a conversation about girls or something for the rest of the round at the spawn.

Question: Are you from Detroit? I just read this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/0..._n_858307.html

Seriously though, take 2 minutes and fix some of your spelling and grammar. Coming from me (I am already bad), is not really a good thing.

Now before you start dividing your team, do you at least know what are your weakness and strongest assets? Being a leader is one thing but being a good leader is something very different. If you guys lead just because of the title and not the capacity, you are already on the wrong track. Better have fewer good leader than too many egocentric leaders...

we Operate awsomly, cause that's how we role.

We use a 5 man Recon team that scouts ahead with one commander, they are usually pretty far ahead of every one else. We use a 5 man Assult squad aginst the main attacking force they have our XO and right beind them, a 5 man support squad with our CO. (Maelstrom)

My other team, ..... well we TRY to stick together (3 of us). But 1 guy thinks he is recon (goes Rambo), 1 thinks he is a 1 man assult team (gets stuck out in the open or pinned down) and the other is usually trying to stay with one of the other two. Needless to say, Not a great system haha, but we still have a great time.

Bad Company does what is needed and is fully battle ready with various lazy elite operators in which all of them except for two have AO accounts.

WRONG!!! A good leader is able to delegate and assign on the basis of mission and strength and weakness of the troops under him. I'd suggest getting a copy of Army or Marine leadership books and find out what a leader does.

The biggest thing I've learned playing airsoft is that, for people like us, with very little discipline and zero desire to seriously train, SOP flies out the window the second we see the enemy, so I wonder if we should even waste our time thinking about it. Instead of focusing on a finely-crafted SOP that will be more useful around the campfire than in a game, I wonder if maybe we should instead focus simply on protecting the person next to us ("I got you" comes to mind...thank you Glaeken). If we can figure that out, I suspect SOP -- and I mean real, functional, applicable SOP, not blind mimicing of military SOP -- would naturally fall into place.
