So, I was just browsing Airsoft Megastore today and I noticed something that caught my eye. It was a Lithium Iron battery (Li FE). Are these brand new batteries? Have anyone on AO had one before? Are they a good investment?

You really can't find too many springers that you wouldn't be able to also find AEG versions of. With the exception of my dream gun - A bolt action rifle powered by an M14 gearbox with EBB added so that the fake bolt goes back by itself. Mostly as a gag, but also because peoples' definition of a gun is sometime fun to turn on its head. Kinda like Mr. Black's G18 AEP with the SAW box mag attached.

Hey gents,

I have another general question.

So, I've never actually played an event where I didn't have the chance to reload for the entire day, but I'm looking at a few

Can anyone recommend a good Multicam pouch, no more than two Molle lanes wide, to hold a speedloader and about 3000 bbs? I am looking for something made in the USA, from a genuine USGI contractor, but ultimately I may need to have it by this Friday, so I could settle for the Chinese CONDOR brand.

I would probably remove the bbs from the store bag and put them into a more flexible bag, so I can fit them into something compact.

So the front of my vest is totally occupied, the lower back left is occupied by a small dump pouch, the center back occupied by my hydration carrier. I have two lanes to work with on entire the back right or the maybe back upper left.

Maybe an empty IFAK would work? Dunno the price, size, or if I can find one that quick.

Any suggestions? I know this is a really noobish question. Some people say, "Hey don't go on AO, they'll eat you alive." So far everyone seems pretty friendly.

Clean out a 24 oz pepsi bottle and use that. I've also used the small OD plastic Pilot's flask.

I can fit two 16oz bottles in two double mag pouches. That's more than plenty. Thanks for the suggestion.

Question time! So I got my smart charger yesterday and it has two settings on it. It did not come with instructions, I checked time and time again, and I googled my question too, couldn't find my answer. So, the two settings are .9a and 1.8a. I'm guessing that the 'a' is for amps? When would I want to use each setting and is there anytime I have to worry about what setting it's on?

King, those settings are used for how fast you would like to charge the battery. The .8 is gonna be a slower charge but in the end is gonna extend use of the battery and charge capacity. The 1.8 is gonna be faster but a little more 'potent' to the battery. You may have to use a 1.8a charge for a large battery or for a faster charge (maybe pre-game).

Also a in .8a and 18a does stand for amps or the strength of a electrical unit being delivered.

FYI I work a Batteries Plus so this stuff is well covered in training so I thought I'd share!

Hope I helped

pill bottles make the best bb reloaders. usually the same amount as your click loader so you dump and empty. nothing to rattle.

Can the foam on ESS profile goggles be replaced? I know this sounds like a stupid question, though I have the turbofan model and am considering reselling them.

Once cut out, the foam cannot be replaced.

So I was looking at some stuff to buy for long outings/hiking. And the backpack says that it is Hydration Bladder compatible. Does that mean that I could put just the bladder in the backpack? Or could I fit the whole hydration carrier in it?

You just put in your own bladder and the hose goes through the top.

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who isn't a member here. He'd like to build his own airsoft WA2000 basically from the ground up. He's considering using propane, CO2, or compressed air, and the heaviest bb's he can. What pressure do GBBs operate at (pressure in the mag and pressure per shot), and what pressure do you guys with sniper P*s set your regulators to for the highest safe/field legal fps? He's thinking probably about 500 fps with... oh let's say .40g bbs.

He wants to make an sniper rifle that's actually capable of fulfilling its real steel role on an airsoft scale. You know, the 300% increase in performance over assault rifles and whatnot.

.40 at 500fps is a bit much (~4x the power of normal AEGs), I know, but he said "the heaviest bb you can find at the highest fps they'd let you use."

I said 'just get an AEG,' but he's set on this, so if he can do it (safely), more power to him!

Does your friend also realize that a .4 gram bb at 500 fps had the same energy of a .2 at 700 fps? I know of no fields at which this would be allowed. Every field I know of, save for op lion claws events, uses .2 for chrono.

Tan based BDU's - next best thing to multicam

Hi,

What would be the "next best thing" to Multicam in terms of providing camouflage in the woods/grass while still being considered tan-based?

I prefer US/NATO patterns, though am open to suggestions.

Washability/resistance to fading would be a plus.

Thanks.

The biggest problem with this is that there really is no set in stone list of tan-based uniforms. Every event may have a different list of acceptable patterns based on what different organizers choose.

That said though, here in Ohio during the fall and winter months, most desert patterns can work surprisingly well. One of my favorites is the desert tiger stripe patterns, but good 'ol US 3-color and 6-color desert are okay too.
