Thumbs up Polarstar Discussion

After a couple searches I came to the conclusion that there isn't a thread for just polarstar users here.
I started this in the hopes for people to show off their polarstar, talk about FCU settings, and what they run with on/in their polarstar.

Whether its your DMR setup that can reach out and touch people at 300+ feet, your setup that can tear anything in half with its insane rate of fire, or just you backyard plinker.... Lets talk about it

If you want to talk about anything pertaining to polarstars, this is your place!

And don't forget! Lets see your polarstar

Sorry for the quite large image

My setup as of now is a VFC M16 with some PTS furniture, I never take it over 350 fps. Backyard plinking at about 380 fps, I could hit a dog loo (no not a dog, a dog house) at 300 feet. I used a rangefinder of course.

I almost never use full auto unless I'm in a pickle. Of course my DP is pretty high because it's an M16. I use to have a foam filled suppressor for it, but I traded it for a QD suppressor. It was crazy quiet.

You guys need to tell us what bb weight you are using please. 350fps with 0.20g is a bit different than 350fps with .43g

I forgot to even mention my own haha
My base is a VFC m4
I have a LaRue Tactical 13.2 inch FF rail system with FDE and Black XTM rail covers
Peq 16a, FDE AFG, Magpul ACS-l stock in FDE, and a foam filled silencer... My god it's beautiful.
For my optics I either use a eotech or and ACOG depending on the game type.
I usually keep it right below 400 to keep it field legal
I'll have to put up a picture and my fcu settings later

Chrono'd with a .20

Yes, I use 0.20g bb's to chrono. I was talking about 0.20's. However, the highest weight bb I use is a 0.28g. I only chrono with 0.20's

Elite force milsim max? I tried those before and I hate them because you can't see them since they are brown. If you're thinking of using those, try plinking with them first.

No clue... Haven't looked much yet

But I forgot to say my upgraded items
I have a prowin hopup with an orga 6.23 barrel and a firefly flat hop

Though my hose to the FE is leaking... Replacing it soon

On the bio note;
I've tried bio BBs with my Masada aeg and they didn't feed
I'm sure with a polarstar you could adjust the dp or something to make them feed easier

The bio's have never been a problem for me, at least Elite Force bb's. I added a low quality pic in my first post

You know what
I remember you from the FW expo
I'm not making any fun of anything because you hit me from a heck of a distance, but that rifle with the supressor of it was almost as tall as you!

I will get the picture of mine up once I get home

Yeah I know, haha. I am quite short for being 15.

Your bb weight doesn't matter if you chrono with .2's and are within field fps rules.

aBod22, I did not imply bb weight matter at the chrono. I was referring to the saying "I shoot 300ft at 350fps". If you shoot that far with such FPS and using .2g, that is awesomely awesome. If you shoot that far with 0.43g at 350fps (which equal about 450fps with 0.2g), the 300ft become less of an awesome distance.

What I did understand is your need much lower FPS with the same 0.20g bb to achieve the same or greater distance when using Polarstar. The TM14 is well know to out range other guns with higher FPS too.

That's why I love the polarstar setup

Understanding the ratio from a .20 to a .4 to the fps variation and weights in between is very valuable in the polarstar community

Mine chronos in at about 390 with .2s but right now I'm using .23s. I still use the stock settings and I'm running a red nozzle at only 40 psi which has almost doubled how long my tank will last. I do have a question tho what settings should I expertment with to help with range

I would start with a heavier bb to get some good range
It will drop your fps (if you're worried about that) and a really nice hop up/bucking/nub
Sorry I can't help much with the fcu settings

So far best article I've found for setting explanations. I haven't tried anything yet, but soon will.
This is what I have for my p* so far.

So far I have installed the fe into a G&P magpul tan lower and attached a black moe pistol grip, and fde UBR. The tank is a pure energy 3000 psi max 48 cc. The line is I believe a redline firebase. The regulator is a ninja.
My goal for this build is to utilize the awesome customibility of the fe. At the moment I have upper
1. Baby monster upper (pictured)
2. G&P sr16 URX upper
3. Madbull dragon fire 12" rail some sort of DMR style upper.
So far I have a unopened pro win hop up system that I am waiting to pair with a barrel and bucking. (Blue in package)
I also have an angel custom 6.03 480ish mm barrel with some nice hop up and I believe angel custom hop up with anger custom white bucking (red hop up).
I plan on running kwa pmag mids and some pts pmags high or mid in the gun.
Problems I am having
1. The little lipo I received is dead (not a huge deal at all $12 fix)
2. Leaky top of tank (may be o ring, I hope so, but the tank is quite old.
3. (Main problem) where the top of the line and the regulator meet, there is a substantial leak. However to test and see if I did everything right, I need to fix the tank.
So there are definantely a few struggles I have faced, but am excited to get this thing working right.
If you have any suggestions for me to do for hop up barrel bucking combo, or either of my problems please let me know.
Thanks!
Alec

I'm loving the Black and Tan so far
I have ( as pictured) a black body but for my cqb upper (not pictured) it has the FDE moe handgrip
I believe I have a promy soft bucking but I'm not quite sure (i got it from a friend-he got a pack of 2 I took one) I get pretty decent range especially with the flat hop
But I plan on getting my cqb upper r-hopped to get the best range I can out of it
I'm using the black nozzle right now

The only thing that I can say about Pmags is that they are finicky... You deffinately have to shim the mags to get them to feel correctly... Once shimmed they feed flawlessly (in my gun)

Are you sure you're not talking about beta project p-mags?

"It's true, you've built an extremely accurate weapon. You just don't look good shooting it." - Sakujosei, the most deadly airsoft sniper evar. - 6/29/2013

The bottom is the rifle most people are familiar with. It started life as a JG full metal S-System M4. I think the grip and buffer tube are still original.
Functionally, it's got a Prommy hop-up unit, R-Hopped Prommy 6.03 440mm barrel, and a HS5 carbon fiber long-range barrel. Due to the flexibility of the carbon fiber, I house the whole shebang in a 16.25" dragon-fire free float rail system. Pictured above with the night vision sight I used at Crucible 2.

This used to be my DMR, shooting ~500fps w/ .20g bbs, however OOTBI and Devil's Playground limiting everything to 400 changed my mind a bit. I installed the gold low flow poppet valve, red nozzle, switched it back to full auto, and use it as my standard battle rifle. It's very quiet, and still very accurate out to about 280-300 feet when shooting .40s, although I generally use .30s. .40g bbs cost more to shoot than pennies.

Settings (off the top of my head): DP 20, DR 22, DN 16, RF 1

The top rifle is an M14 EBR converted by Bingo Airsoftworks. This is my new DMR platform. Presently, it has a flat hop installed, and shoots fairly well out to around 300 feet when set to ~500fps w/ .20g bbs. My intention is to install an ER-hop before Sovereign Fury.

I'm not sure if they are the beta or not (I got them used) but before I shimmed them I had to hold the bottom of the mag and push forward
