Well I do agree with you about the portrayal of Ed, but as for Kimbly, I like him. He is like the Joker of FMA Brotherhood. He just wants to watch the world burn, and he wears a sweet zoot suit. But, once again, I see myself in Brotherhood's Bradley, so that is what I am focused on. Although he is a secondary character, he is the one I care about most, so regardless I like Brotherhood over the first series. I didn't care for the whole Dante thing. Also, Selim Bradley (Pride) is awesome in Brotherhood, and Wrath in the original one is just an annoying little kid, so that is lame. Anyway, both are good animes, but I will watch Brotherhood again. I won't bother with the first one.

Brotherhood follows the Manga, so to me it is the original. The first tv series went off on its own and is nowhere near as good. The story doesn't have the same quality to it, and Bradley is Pride instead of Wrath in the first series. Wrath is important to the manga/ brotherhood and is a character I personally identify with. He is just a radical version of me, so that is why I like him and therefore like brotherhood better.
