I was wondering if anyone has played with or owned the G&G GR15 Raider series and/or Airsoft GI G4 series custom guns. I'm in the market for a blowback carbine shipped with RIS rails that DOES NOT use a PEQ box; so far I like what I've seen on Airsoft GI regarding the Raider, in particular, I like the clean look of AGI's custom guns with the flip up front/rear sights as well as the Daniel Defense 9" Rail.

Concerns thus far:

- Seems to have conflicting specs on FPS (I've seen anywhere from 325 to 415). I assume standard chrono'ing using .2's resulted in those FPS numbers...
- Plastic composite body. Is it really as sturdy as AGI's 9ft drop tests show?
- Crane stock: big enough to accept anything other than a crane battery?
- Accepts TM compatible M4 mags? No hidden quarks like "requires G&G brand..."?
- Raider model: Can the front triangle site be removed or does that require a barrel replacement?

Here are a couple links to a few of the models I'm interested in:

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=5120

Obviously, I would prefer to buy locally, but first of all I could use some help with the items listed above. Thanks for the help!

Hey all.....

So I've been looking at getting a new G36c, and have narrowed it down to the ARES and the KWA 2GX.

I have a couple of questions about them though (all that can be answered with FACTS, NOT opinions).

I haven't been able to dig up much info on the KWA 2GX G36c, so I haven't really been able to compare it to the ARES. I was wondering.....

-Which is more accurate/has longer range stock?
-Considering it is 2GX, does that mean that the KWA's internals are of higher quality than the ARES?
-Is the ARES Li-po ready?

Those are pretty much all of the questions that I have left that I haven't been able to find answers to anywhere else.

Cheers,

So hello everybody, I dont know if anyone remembers me but its been 2 years since I've posted here. I'm trying to get back into airsoft but I'm pretty lost right now. There's a lot of new brands of guns that I'm interested in buying for a second AEG (already have a TM sig552). I'm not trying to start an opinion thread, just trying to get some pros and cons of brands such as echo 1, jingo gong, G&G, etc. The last time i was really into airsoft there was TM, CA, and ICS, so obviously im a little lost. Thanks for the help!
Either one will be outfitted with new tight bore barrel and 11.1 lipo battery.
What would you choose?

I bought a new SR10 and besides the BB, hop up issue I have 1 other issue that I'm hoping someone else has experienced or can shed light on.

The gun works perfect until I shoot about 200 shots out of it. Then all the sudden you pull the trigger and nothing. I have tried different batteries thinking maybe my battery was bad. But they are both fully charged and it still happens. If I lightly hit where the magazine feeds then it will fire for another 2 or 3 shots then quit again until I hit it again.

When the gun sits for awhile then it will do the whole thing over. Be fine and no issues for about 200-250 shots then act up every 2 or 3 trigger pulls.

My thought was something is heating up and causing pieces to expand which is causing a part to get stuck and when I tap or hit it then it frees the stuck part and works for 2 or 3 shots until it gets stuck again? But that is just a guess.

I am sending it back to AS tomorrow but just baffled on what it could be and kind of has me worried about later in the future if the problem could arise again.

Anyone have any thoughts on what the issue could be?

Let me first state off that this gun has been a big trouble for me since i bought it off a friend broke. It is the CASV version. The problem that my friend had with it i believe was an electrical problem. I reconnected all the wires and used a new battery and it worked fine. The battery was an 8.4 1200mAh Intellect battery.
Now it seems to be acting up. When i first hook the battery up and pull the trigger, the gun will only make clicking sounds. After a bit when the battery gets somewhat warm it will start to shoot like nothing is wrong. Also for semi to work i have to fire it in full auto for awhile.
Suggestions and any form help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Basic Specifications:

•	Cost MSRP: $425
•	Stock FPS: 380-410
Note: I have found the FPS to be a bit high on this gun. My gun shoots an average of 398 on one crono, and 406 on another crono. This is with a tight bore barrel.
•	Barrel: The diameter is unknown, but I have obtained an original barrel and it shoots above par than most stock barrels.
•	Battery: Not included but takes a crane stock type battery, small connector
•	Magazine: Includes one High Cap 300 rounder
•	Body: Metal Body with full LWRC Trade Marks
•	Rail system: a CNC Free Float System.
Note: It is in two pieces. It will be talked about in section 3.
•	Stock: Custom Crane Stock
•	Iron sights are included

2. Externals

This gun looks absolutely fantastic on the outside! I will start from the rear of the gun, talk about features, build, and quality then work my way to the front.

The Stock of this gun is quit something. It is probably one of the best crane stocks out there. It can fit sub C type batteries in all three holes with maximum room for a 10.8volt battery, but that is pushing it. To put the Battery in, simply push the rear button in, and gently pull the back off. It is so easy to take the back off, it will fall off, if help towards the ground. To put the plate back on simply push the button in while putting the plate on the rear of the stock. The stock also has a mount point that is extremely strong, as well as a small but roomy “bin” to fit a few things. It will hold quit a few small button batteries, 3 AAA batteries, or 2 AA batteries.

^ The small storage on the crane stock.

^ The small button to push to remove the butt plate.

^ The butt plate simply being pushed off.

The buffer tube is very well built. It has the standard 6 different position marked. I only recommending going to setting 5 with a Crane stock battery in. Any farther and you will hurt your wiring, and battery. The buffer tube also has the nut that will “work”. This means it will actually screw on and off and aids in keeping the buffer tube tight with the body. Most clones and some middle end guns have the nut casted with the buffer tube. Also, the buffer tube houses the wiring for this gun. It is in a coil, to take up less room, and is of a thicker than average gauge for less resistance. Please note there is not fuse in the wire system so be careful to check all the connections of your gun if you work or mess with them.

The body is full metal and features many trademarks and features. The gun is fully licensed my LWRC so therefore it has ALL of the trades the real one would have. The body also has its own unique serial number which is no biggie, but what is really nice is that the upper and lower receiver has the some serial number stamped on both, so if one is stolen it will be very easy to verifier that it is your upper or lower, even if they get separated. The rail is numbered and is flush with the rail system on the front. The mag release is like all the others. The Selector switch clicks into place very solidly. One thing many people like about this gun is the blow back and the mag catch. You can pull the fake bolt back, and keep it back with the mag catch and even release it. The dust cover will no close with the bolt pulled back. More about the blow back will be in the internal section.

^ The full trade marks on the left side of the gun.

^ The left side.

The front rail system is free float and has no movement what so ever. It is CNC milled but is in two pieces. Also it has a partially working gas system in the rails. To separate the rails there are two screws that can buy unscrewed by hand in the front next to the barrel. Then simply slide forward and up to revel the gas system. The gas system is almost exactly like the real steal. It even works partially. If you put your hand on it, and push it into the body, it will actually go in a little just like the real deal would. It will not work on its own, and it really has no purpose but to show the replication quality of CA.

3.	Internals

I am not to knowledgeable about internals of airsoft guns. I do know that the LRWC is rock solid. Many people have told me about it and I will put it in very simple terms. All the upgrade parts come preinstalled. You do not need to touch the gearbox at all. I also know that the gearbox is from the line of the X series by CA. If one of the more knowledgeable members wants to write a small review of the internals of an X series gun, I will gladly throw it here, and give you full recognition of your work. Also, the LRWC features a radical and extremely well made hop up.

^ The screws at the front of the rail system that need to be unscrewed to get to the gas system.

^ Screws unscrewed. Note they will not unscrew all the way. Also the top rail slides forward ever so slightly before being pulled up.

^ The replica gas system shown simply by lifting the rail up.

^ The top rail by its self.

4.	The one Upgrade

The one upgrade I would recommend for this gun is a Tight Bore Barrel. Other than that this gun works extremely well. You could through in a MOSFET if you want three burst rounding but other than that this gun is set to go for a while.

Thank you for reading my review. If you have any comment or suggestions or see any wrong sayings in my review please let me know. Also if you have any specific questions let me know! Thanks! - Wahugg

So I'm happy with the drop but should I expect the FPS to go down and by how much?

i have plans for the future for what ever gun i keep. aka making it into a DMR gun. so a 140 spring and fixed to semi only or a 3 burst mosfet. also what GB may handle stress easier and so on. also what would be better for a lipo

Recently my echo 1 Mp5 has stopped working. The motor for some reason won't spin. However, I know it is not the battery because it is fully charged and I tested it in another gun. I also know that the motor is not burned out because I put it in another gun and it turned just fine. The only reason I could think of why it is not working is the wiring, however, I checked for continuity which it had and I checked to make sure I had a volt reading which it did. The only test it did fail was when I hooked the motor up and when it was under a load, no volts came through. I can not figure out why it will not work. I appreciate any advice you could give me. If you need any more info just let me know.
Again, I really don't know anything about the anotomy of airsoft guns but im very good with taking things apart and putting them back. The mp5 I have has a stripped gear box and I need it replaced. Also, will any gear box do? I have been looking and found a fairly nice one bny dboys: http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/COMP...acc-db-k03.htm
Can anyone tell me if this gear box will work in my mp5 or not. If not do you know one that would? All links are greatly appreciate. Thanks...

Okay. So I've got a new and interesting problem with my CA M4. I know it's electrical but not sure as to what specifically is causing me problems. I searched but didn't find anything that really matched my problem.

With the motor out of the grip it spins fine (except in semi but I don't care about that). However when the motor is in the grip I get nothing. It's not even trying to spin. Even with nothing spinning I'm blowing fuses. I'm thinking there is something wrong with the motor.

I've torn the gearbox down, cleaned, re greased, re shimmed, cleaned all electrical contacts and checked all the wiring for exposed wire. Everything should be good. Some other specifics I'm running a 9.6 purchased from 321, a 110 spring, and stock motor. If it helps its an 03~04 model.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

On a side note, is it the hop-up chamber itself or the bucking that optimizes range and accuracy? I feel stupid for asking but...hey...nobody told me..
And another, why the h3ll do my MAG mags mis-feed and sometimes shoot 5 feet and drop out of my gun? I guess its my hop-up?

This is review is on a Systema Turbo (blue) motor that I am using to build a high ROF AEG.

This is review is on a Systema Turbo (blue) motor that I am using to build a high ROF AEG.

I purchased this motor two months ago and tested it in my M1A1 Thompson at two airsoft events that I attended in June. I had also upgraded the gun with a 9.6 v battery, a tightbore barrel, an upgraded/improved cylinder set, air nozzle, and metal bushings. I was disappointed with the ROF. It was 12 rps. My research then lead me to investigate the spring. The spring system was still stock.

I replaced the spring and the spring guide. I down graded the spring to a M100 type and upgraded the spring guide from plastic to metal with ball bearings.

It was during these test firings that the Systema’s pinion gear disintegrated (see http://www.airsoftohio.com/forums/sh...=systema+motor)

Based on this thread, it was determined that the Systema pinion gear is designed to fail and from further research it seems as if the System pinion gear could be made out of compressed graphite.

Since that thread, I have had the pinion gear replaced with a solid steel pinion from Bravo and have put almost 2000 bbs thought it with no issues. Please see the attached pics. One thing to notice about the pics is that the motor height is fixed within a half of a mm. No real adjustment of the motor height can be made in this particular motor cage.

As for the results, I am very pleased to report a 170% increase in my ROF! I am able to still maintain a muzzle velocity of 350 fps.

My average went from 10 rps to 17 rps without having to go to an 11.1 v Lipo battery.
(Note: Low rps was 13, high rps was 21 using a Fidragon Chrono)

However, the cost of this system ($140) might have been better spent in making the gun ready for an 11.1v Lipo battery. I’m not sure at this point. But, I think I might investigate it as my next project using my CYMA AK-47.

The wiring was gone but has been replaced and current seems good. However, when I pull the trigger the gun doesn't fire. It makes a clicking noise and motor jolts but nothing else happens. Does anyone know what the problem is?
The gearbox was never taken apart so hopefully it's nothing in there. There is a pin missing, (the one that holds the pistol grip on and goes into the motor) could this be the problem? Any help is appreciated, I will post pictures if needed.

I know people with one post selling expensive things tend to be scams but I live in New York and just wanted to get this out to as many places as possible to find a potential buyer. If you are still skeptical of doing payment I go to school in Philly and can meet to make the exchange any time after September first.

Did you start with one of the cheaper entry level guns? Or did you get a nicer one from the very beginning for a few hundred dollars? I don't want to "ruin the experience" by buying a cheaper gun, but I'm also wary about dropping $200 on my first gun.
So, what did you guys do? And did you regret it?

*EDIT*
Just realized this may not be the right thread... I figured since it's a question about guns specifically it might go here, but maybe it belongs in general discussion? Apologies in advance...
