Like Nightfall, there will be no pay at the gate. This will help cover the extensive cost of props as well as covering the field fees associated with our location. The event will be a full on two day event where you will live, sleep, and eat in the field. Everything you need to survive that 24 hours is to be carried with you onto the field!
“These are dark times to be in the territories my friends. The baby queen is all grown up and the slaver nation is making caravanning impossible without risking your life and cargo. The Battle of Bartertown left a lot of good men and women dead or in chains but the N.A.C. hasn’t backed down an inch. Slavers fighting neo government, the trade houses fighting the slavers, and the great tribes are fighting everyone. The hills are stained with blood and fire friends, and personally this is one trader who isn’t sticking around to see how it plays out.”
-Jacob Tolliver, Wasteland Merchant and Territories Ex-Patriot.
Out of the Box Industries is proud to present Daybreak: Return to the End of the World. Set 15 months after Nightfall the events set in motion at Bartertown have grown into a full scale battle between the Slavers and the New American Combine leaving a lot of tribes in the middle of a large scale and bloody conflict.
Daybreak will be a multi-day event with two main factions, two smaller tribes and several role-players. The event will begin at 4:00 PM on September 22nd, and will go until 12:00pm on September 23rd. This will be a fully immersive event that will feature play for the entire length of the event.
At midnight on the 22nd, all combat will cease but play will not, meaning players will be free to interact with each other, make camps and complete several evening objectives that will be given to the factions.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS WILL NOT BE A TYPICAL MILSIM EVENT SO PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE FOLLOWING LIMITATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE COMMITTING.
1. Attire for the event should be something that truly represents the feel of living off the land and surviving with what you can scavenge. Utilitarian garments such as ponchos, gloves, hats of any variety, backpacks, cookware, utensils etc. should be the first thing that comes to mind when planning your kit, not how effective it will make you in combat. IF YOU SHOW UP IN INAPPROPRIATE ATTIRE YOU WILL BE DENIED ENTRANCE TO THE EVENT AND YOUR FEE WILL BE FORFEIT. Please check the player pack and event postings for what is acceptable attire and what is not allowed. There should be NO camouflage.
2. Tactical Gear while tempting to bring out would lose its value VERY quickly in the setting that we are discussing. When you live off of your back, humping around a 20 pound CIRAs Rig with 20 magazines, a radio etc. is just unnecessary. While each player will be required to have a radio for safety reasons we would ask that all but the tribe leaders leave them off unless there is an actual emergency. Please no plate caries, tactical vests, helmets, or military attire.
3. Weapons will be restricted in the following ways. Each player will be allowed to carry any number of mid or low-cap magazines with the following stipulation. Each player MAY NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO CARRY MORE THAN 300 ROUNDS FOR ALL WEAPONS INCLUDING SIDEARMS. Some leeway will be given but keep it within +/- 25 rounds. Each faction will start with a pre-determined amount of ammunition representing the collected reserves of their tribe, group, collective etc. It is up to the faction leader to dispense what they have in the manner that they see fit. There will be no support weapons of any kind allowed, period. They are too heavy, ammo intensive and repair intensive to be practical plus the average civilian after the fall won't have a lot of access to a 240B.
The two primary factions for Daybreak will be the Slaver Nation and the New American Combine representing the major powers in the area. There will also be two independent factions representing those who are caught in the middle of the power struggle and will play a large role in determining the outcome of the event. As before as well, there will be role-players a plenty to add the End of the World flavor.
