Event is based on the Battle of the Ia Drang Valley in November 1965 depicted in the book and movie: "We Were Soldiers," but is not a re-enactment. Vietnam era weapons, gear and uniforms are of course welcome, but not required. This is an open event, meaning there are no uniform or magazine restrictions, but no uniform means you will be the Viet Cong.
U.S. Army 1st Battalion/7th Cavalry will be in green based bdu's, must be full, matching uniforms. PAVN 33rd Regiment will be in tan based bdu's, must be full, matching uniforms. H-15 Viet Cong Battalion will be in black, blue, gray or urban camo based BDU's, hunting camo, civies, or mixed. No mixing of tan and green. Minimum Engagement Distance:
Under 10' = safety/knife kill
10' - 25' = 0 - 399 fps
25' - 50' = 400 - 449 fps
50' - 75' = 450 - 499 fps
75' - 125' = 500 - 549 fps
Over 125' = 550 - 600 fps
ALL AEG's 400 - 450 fps will be semi-auto only. Anything above 450 fps must be single shot. Guns will be tagged with color coded zip ties to show fps.
ALL Guns used by players UNDER 18 are to be 400 fps or LOWER.

Schedule: 10:00 AM- Gates open, Chrono
11:00 AM- Safety, rules and objective briefing, continue chrono
12:00 PM- Play starts
3:00 PM- Break
3:45 PM- Resume play, end at dark.

Medic rules: 1 medic for every 5 players. (Squad of 6 would have one medic on it) If hit, stay in place, display dead rag and call for medic. Another player can move you to cover by placing one hand on you while you move. Bleed out time of a 300 count. If medic reaches you, he must touch you for a 60 count to be healed. If you bleed out, you will go the re-spawn point and wait until the next 5 or 0 is hit on the clock that will be placed there. (ie. 1205, 1210, 1445, 1450) Say you get to the clock at 12:26 PM, you must wait for it to display 12:30 PM before you can re-enter the game.
Grenade/Rocket Rules:
Grenade projectiles are BB's only, Nerf rockets are allowed.
No simulation grenades.
Authentic military or law enforcement pyrotechnic (flash bang) grenades are prohibited.
Cold smoke is allowed, depending on how dry the field is, hot smoke
might be. Pull string smoke grenades are sold at the field.
Homemade grenades are prohibited.
Co2 decibel grenades are considered flash bangs, no kills result from use.
Rockets and grenades will have a 20' kill radius from their final rest.
Rocket must be fired from M203 or M79, LAW or AT4.
Rockets, once launched, can't be re-used in the same scenario.
Grenade, once tossed, can't be re-used in the same scenario
Grenade must be approved by organizers prior to use.
Knife kills:
Flexible blades only, soft rubber or plastic.
Tap only, no stabbing or slashing.
If knife killed, you must
quietly stay in place and display your dead rag. The idea is for a silent kill.
All knives must be approved by an organizer prior to use.
