Snow Blind II
The Estonian Liberation Army (ELA) suffered a heavy loss two years ago in its attempt at overthrowing the democratic government of Estonia. With the combined efforts of the Joint Forces (JF), the ELA was crippled and scattered throughout the countryside in the frantic retreat. Since then, however, the ELA has been gaining support from small towns across the countryside. Reports indicate the town leaders either join the cause or disappear. If the leaders disappear, the ELA supplants the government with its own people and the town joins the cause anyway. Taking no hostages, the ELA is said to have killed thousands as it utilizes terror tactics to keep its members in line.
As soldiers in the Joint Forces United Army, you must combat this terrorism and retake the towns lost to the ELA. However, in order for the entire Unified Army to intervene in the domestic situation, the Estonian National Army must first provide proof of the terror allegations. Due to the extreme effectiveness of the terror tactics used by the ELA, no civilians are willing to volunteer any information regarding the ELA. It is suspected that the evidence has all been buried or burned, including mass-murder grave sites, chemical warfare, and public torture victims. The only chance the Estonian National Army has at collecting evidence against the ELA is to catch them in the act.
Estonian Liberation Army – Civilian Freedom Fighter
Estonian National Army – Woodland BDU
Joint Forces United Army – All other camouflage (will be working with Woodland)
Mission 1: Caught in the Act
The ELA has been seen at a prison ‘interrogating’ prisoners. It is suspected that they have been using torture tactics to acquire information from prisoners before finally killing them and burning the bodies. Catch them in the act of torture or find a body of a tortured inmate for physical evidence. The town of Haapsalu is the primary target area. Search the town thoroughly before proceeding to the prison.
Rules Of Engagement:
Estonian National Army – Shoot on sight any ELA operative bearing arms.
Joint Forces United Army – Return fire only until evidence has been collected and the order to engage has been given. Defend yourself if directly fired upon, but do NOT initiate an engagement.
Mission 2: Reconnaissance Recovery
The ELA was able to shoot down a reconnaissance UAV that may have recorded the current positioning of their leader, or at least a Lieutenant who would be commanding the troops we are facing today. It was en route back to HQ when it was taken out, so it crashed between the Estonian capital Tallinn and our HQ. We must secure it and an engineer must extract the data from the recording devices. We must then get the engineer and data the rest of the way to HQ to be processed.
Rules Of Engagement:
All Joint Forces – Shoot on sight any ELA operative bearing arms.
First Break
Mission 3: Mortar Fields Aflame
The ELA has regrouped and is defending a cache of mortars, ammunition, and an artillery piece they apparently stole from the Estonian National Army. Cautiously pursue the enemy as they will likely use the mortars against the Joint Forces. Any cluster of soldiers will become a target for mortar attack. Any noticeable cover will become rubble. A swift and aggressive assault on their position will be the only way to prevent heavy casualties. Return any confiscated ammunition supplies to the HQ.
Rules Of Engagement:
All Joint Forces – Shoot on sight any ELA operative bearing arms or operating heavy weaponry.
Mission 4: Taking the Capital
With the analysis of the recordings recovered from the UAV, it has become apparent that the ELA leader is in the Estonian capital Tallinn. Take it quickly to prevent his escape.
Rules Of Engagement:
Estonian National Army – Shoot on sight any ELA operative bearing arms.
Joint Forces United Army – Capture the leader alive for trial by an international court of law. All other ELA operatives may be engaged with extreme prejudice.
Second Break
Mission 5: Cat and Mouse
The ELA has been removed from the Estonian capital Tallinn, but the leader has escaped. Track down the rebels and exterminate them. Do not stop until they are all gone. They may have supply caches throughout the wilderness. Gather the supplies in the marked area for destruction.
Rules Of Engagement:
Estonian National Army – Shoot on sight any ELA operative bearing arms.
Joint Forces United Army – Capture the leader alive for trial by an international court of law. All other ELA operatives may be engaged with extreme prejudice.
If the scenario ends before 5:00pm we will host open play for those who wish to stay.
