First Impressions:
Came in a plain brown box, marked "552 sytle dot sight". Inside the box was the sight covered by a plastic baggie and packing material. There was no manual.

Included:
The 552 sight, 2 AAA batteries pre-installed

Sight first impression
First removing the sight from the box you will notice this thing is pretty solid. Seems to be made from some decent ABS plastic and has what appears to be an aluminum sight encasing. It isnt really heavy, the weight is about as much as any other red dot.

Externals:
The sight is made of ABS plastic, Metal and the glass lenses. It has a 20mm mount that is compatible with most of the rail systems found on airsoft guns.It can be attached without any hardware as it has a single thumbscrew to tighten or loosen the mount. Its definately well built and sturdy.

On the right side of the sight you will find the windage/elevation adjustments.

The metal encasing seems to made of aluminum and is removable.

The Glass is slightly tinted and can make tracking where your bb goes a little tough on overcast days or in low light situations.

Batteries:
The batteries can be accessed by pulling up on the top clip. Doing so will reveal the 2 AAA batteries that are included with the sight.

Controls:
There are 3 buttons to operate the sight. NV changes the reticule color (Red/Green), the up arrow increases brightness while the down arrow decreases the brightness. To turn on the sight touching either the up or down button will activate the reticule. Pressing both the up and down arrow and releasing will turn the sight off.

There is also a built in auto shutdown feature after 2 hours of no use

Performance:
This is the nicest red dot I have used. It is extremely easy to use with both eyes open and quick to acquire a target. I noticed there is some "ghosting" that happens in lower light on the brighter settings but it seems to disappear once out in the daylight.

The reticule is also visible from the opposites side and could give away your position in low light situations.

Pros/Cons:
Pros:
EOTech styling
LE/MIL trademarks
Solid construction
Almost Eotech reticule
Panoramic view
AAA battery size
Near universal mounting
Price is less that most other clones ($90 at Airsoft Smith)

Cons:
Battery compartment a bit hard to close
Not the true Eotech reticule
Questionable water resistance, rain may harm it
Visible reticule from opposite end

Overall:
This thing is great for the price. You get a great, sturdy, high quality sight for loads less that the competition and the real thing. And quick, easy target acquisition will put you at an advantage over the others.

Misc:
I will add more here as I get out and use the sight at games. Check back later for more pics (my cam is broken so I have to borrow for now) and any new pros or cons, should have some new input after the game this weekend.

Good Review. Thanks for the information. I have the 551 replica like yours and i love it. I think maybe the only difference is that I got mine at Airsoft Arms and it has the EOtech reticule. besides the obvious model difference.

Good review, I had one similiar (hurricane tho), and wished I never sold it. I feel slow, but what do you mean by ghosting?

Just a side comment, but as far as I have seem, the G&P 552 has since been updated to the real eotech bullet drop reticule. The battery compartment is also identical to the real eotech(batteries in the compartment cover), and ghosting has been reduced. Brightness is also better
