First off i would like to thank every one who came out. i know it was a long drive for some of you but i hope you had a good time anyway. we did get off to a slow start but by the middle of the game things were rolling along. there were a couple reports of cheating or misbehavior but it was nothing too serious that we didnt take care of. Overall i think the day went pretty well. i hoped you all liked the field despite the hills.

04-02-2006, 02:01 PM
Thanks to all the 97th esp. inferno for having me and my 3 companions out to the field yesterday.

You definately have something very unique in jackson. From the field to the rules you use. I am looking forward to the series expanding.

I didn't notice really any cheating either. Nothing another couple rounds wouldn't fix:cool:

Your choice of medic rules combined with field size and ammo rules were mixed perfect.

This was a great field for snipers.. i won't elaborate there. just if you are one. You should go to this field.

The hills kicked my @ss. But i quickly found there were many diff ways to go where you wanted.

Game was slow in the morning. But it was also 4 times faster in the afternoon so it ended up being a real good mix of recon and amush/counterambush.

The players yesterday really owe themselves an aplause. There were no incidents. I also saw teams working together which doesn't always happen effectively. Yesterday teams were divided up into ( and excuse me) old people vs young people. gives you confidence about the future of airsoft when you see the younger players being able to hold their own and then some. Also playing honorably.(it ended up this way not planned)

Had fun! and booya to those that don't get an invite to next events.

Everything from sliding straight down cliffs while shooting back up at the top, to stepping and sinking into 3-4 feet of water at the cave entrences with rounds hitting all around me, to picking up smoke bombs and throwing them back to unsuspencting enemy in a sick game of "hot potato", this event was by far one of the most brutal and enjoyable ones I've ever attended.

'Course there were small(really small) rule bending and communication problems, but nothing that stopped the game in any way.

On behalf of team Phalanx, I want to thank everyone who came for being such great "weekend warriors", 97th for doing the usual and putting on a top notch event, and finally to the guy who let us use his house as a parking lot. If that hadn't happened my BMW would still be out there in some mud ball.:D

Looking forward to the final chapters in the series, REBELS FOR LIFE!!

04-02-2006, 04:09 PM
I would like to thank everyone for coming out, and as Dante said, it was a long drive for some of you, and we appreciate you making it. We hope everyone enjoyed themselfes and we will be sending invites out for the next Op: as soon as we get the final date set. Hope to see you there.

Also, I am missing a KJW Glock 32C with OD Frame. It has a metal slide with a grinded off Glock logo on the slide for trademark reasons. It should have been in an OD holester with a spare mag. If anyone has seen it or has it, could you please pm me. Thank you.

04-02-2006, 06:11 PM
Some more lost items...
1) We found a mag base plate to a KJW pistol. if its your PM me and i will try to get it to you.
2) I think it was Black Seven who lost a green sniper veil. if you grabbed it on accident try to return it to him.

04-02-2006, 06:12 PM
As far as this event goes, i went through 300 rds in the morning and 1200 in the afternoon.. ;)..

Shoutout to Phalanx who AGAIN let me tag along.. and Scorpion for his 70+ kills.. and as for the 3ft of water at the care entrance, i learned about that the FIRST time i saw someone fall victim, unlike some of my OTHER teamates who needed a couple of personal reminders. ;)

Good Job to 6mm for holding down those caves with us and putting up with me for about 1/2 an hour on that left side ;)

to the 97th, this field was a great find, great organization of the game after the first siren mixup and the HQ mixup.. the terrain was great, i didnt find it terrible accept for some of the mud, since im in shape for football.

My favorite moment was ripping up the Striker infiltration into our HQ at the end almost single-handedly.. the shadows in those caves are deadly..

and shoutout to blade for those smokes..they made the game MUCH more interesting... especiallt scorpion throwing them back and forth from 15 ft away behind a corner.. that was great..

and to that '530 fps' sniper that scorpion was toying with, hope you set your hop..;)

btw- i cant wait for my new 110 lumen tac light to get here tomorrow , shoutout to airsoft atlanta for that one.. i definitely ordered it tuesday night..

lets get that AAR quick so i actually know what exactly happened and who won..

My turn to thank everyone who showed up and made this event great. I had a blast organizing and playing. I definitely have to give props to the commanders, squad leaders, teams, and the spy. We thought we knew how this event was gonna work out, but you guys kept surprising us all day. We've been wanting to get players to use their heads more than their guns, and that was happening yesterday. Great job guys.

Special thanks to Oddjob and Target Drone from the 71st for their camping greatness. The brats, corn, and wine were awesome.

We will get the AAR done and pics posted ASAP.

04-02-2006, 08:23 PM
Well, the 91st had a blast. For most of my guys, this was their first event. They thought this event was great. Besides a few minor issues, like my getting shot in the lower lip and all my bbs getting dumped in the cave, I had a great time. I wish some things had gone according to "plan," but that usually never happens. ULP were a great bunch of guys. I never saw the enemy hardly at all! But I still got off enough kills to satisfy myself. Thank you 97th, and thank you Airsoft Arms for water proof boots!

04-02-2006, 09:45 PM
first i would like to say i had a blast. I just bought my first gun at the event and was using my "530 fps" sniper rifle on the cliff. i don't know much about it but i got a few kills from up there. i had a blast exchanging banter with the guys in the cave. It was hard to see you though being the shadows pretty much hid you and all i saw was shapes and bb's flying out. good times though. i hope everybody had a good time cause i know i did. i loved the location. great for sniping. maybe some of you could pm me and let me know anything i should about my CA m24, that would be appreciated. thanks guys for a great time.

p.s. i had fun target practicing on inferno as he walked the trail!!! HAHA I AM ON YOUR TEAM!!!

04-03-2006, 12:26 AM
I would like to thank the 97th for their kind hospitality and the owner of the property for allowing us to use his land.

For the ULP guys, sorry for snatching the bermuda device from you, but had to do what I had to. I enjoyed being the spy quite a bit and hopefully did a good job. The banter between guys in the cave and myself was fun and although there were a few guys out there who were supposidly INVINCEABLE, everyone seems to be pretty honorable about their deaths.

It really heated up in the after noon, got alot more aggression from you ULP guys than we saw in the morning encounters, made for more fun. This was my first event and had a good time. I had my sahre of kills and was quite satisfied with the strategy behind some of the more focused attacks. I have a son on the way soon and may not be able to play for a while because, well, attention is going to be on my boy, but once things get settled, I'll enjoy slaying more of you.

Good times all and may all of you have an outstanding airsofting season.

Navarrodropout, call sign : Dropout

04-03-2006, 02:04 AM
Raptor, yeah I heard you shooting at me. I sent a few friendly rounds back to say hi, but they couldn't make it over the cliff. :)

Dropout, you did a great job as the spy! I can't believe you actually walked out of the cave with bermuda in hand. They didn't even know you stole it until the last half hour or so of the day. I'm looking forward to playing with you again.

04-03-2006, 08:19 AM
My first post got lost in limbo......

Great job to everyone who had a part in making this thing great. It was a blast. I got to break in my new Tanaka sniper gun on many a bullet-wasting Audie Murphy.

Great job, 97th, and I look forward to another game and another camp-out. You guys earned another round of brats and corn from me and Oddjob.

First gun...

Sorry I missed it, sounds like you guys had a great time. Pics going up soon?

04-03-2006, 11:27 AM
It was his first purchased gun, but he's played with us using borrowed aegs many times. I can vouch for him, he knows his MED's and is one of the better airsoft players out there.

04-03-2006, 11:41 AM
Pics and AAR will be up soon, and I think Krayzi from Strikers got some video if I am not mistaken, so we will see when he is going to be able to get that up.

So King, are you glad we didn't "kill" you as leader:p ? Oh, and to the spy, that was AMAZING. I was cracking up during lunch when I was like, so do you guys still have bermuda, and everyone on there team said, oh yea it is back in the cave a little further, then the very next sentance I heard after that was, where is the scientist? :D Very smooth man.

04-03-2006, 01:32 PM
Oh yeah, I'm glad you didn't "kill" me off as commander. What fun, what fun. Although, I was a little confused as what sides you guys were on throughout the day. One second I'm leading 5 guys out of the right side of our cave and I spot the truck. I got so excited then wham! My entire squad is wiped out by the 97th....and 15 minutes later I'm talking to Inferno in our HQ. Hmm. I wanted to take Inferno hostage, but he got killed and just layed down, while I screamed for a medic.

04-03-2006, 01:51 PM
Ya, we are tricky bastards, you never know what is going to happen next:p . But that is the way we want it to be, we want this series not only to be about trigger time, but about tactics and using your head. And as Inferno has been saying, if it is not breaking one of the ground rules, you can do it. You don't need our approval, just don't break the rules. And yes, I heard about Inferno getting shot, it was a BS shot to, like in the leg or something. But stuff happens:D .

04-03-2006, 07:26 PM
yes thank you inferno, it was my first purchased gun. believe me gentlemen and ladies if i have a doubt about the distance i will just lay low and let you get further away before i kill you. i am not out there to hurt anyone or piss anyone off so i usually will only shoot if i am 110% sure of the shot. good luck to everyone at the next event;)

04-03-2006, 08:48 PM
Kudo's to the 97th. This was my first event and it was great fun. I got stuck in the molasses swamp and some kid shot me to death while I thrashed about like a mastodon in the La Brea tarpits. All of the advice about equipment, etc., from all the regulars was helpful. I managed to get all the way to the cave entrance to get shot by the scientist running out with the Bermuda device. He apologized for killing his own team mate as he ran away. At least he was polite...

Hats off to all that attended. I had a blast organizing and playing in the event. I saw a lot of tactics implemented by both sides, weither it be recon, ambush, counterambush, or sniper teams. Sorry about the little mixup and slow start to the game, but as the day rolled on it really heated up.

I still can't believe ULP allowed Bermuda to be taken right under their nose... As the AAR will further elaborate, Bermuda was taken right out of ULP's front door by the all too friendly and helpfull "Scientist".

Hands down to the ULP player in desert camo, sorry I wasen't able to catch your name. After exchanging the Scientist/Spy with the Phalanx escort and following them up the right side of the mountain, we ran into a lone ULP member. We (the 97th) were still "neutral" to both sides, so after talking to him a while we figured out that thier bade had been surronded by NURC members, he was the last remaining surviour. We discussed a plan to help take out the NURC members. What he didn;t know was that we (97th) were more on the NURC side than the ULP side. So after he gave us a tour up to the ULP caveren, one of the NURC members that was following us, shot him. Betrayal at its finest :D

When he was dead, Inferno said, "Lol, sorry man." Desert Camo Guy, "Yea I know" (realizing that we the 97th were a lil shifty...), [Inferno], btw your dead." aka Dead men don't talk

We ran into him again in the caverns, when we paraded like we where on ULP side. He didn't say a word.

Thats the airsoft honor system at its finest, I don't know how many guys I know would come and tell all their team mates that we where the bad guys. But he kept his mounth shut, I don't know how hard taht was not to shoot us when we where in the cavern acting all friendly lol.

All in all, thanks for everyone that came out the night before and camped with us, and everyone else that attended the event.

04-03-2006, 09:33 PM
6mm was in desert.. should narrow your search...

However i must say, that you guys stacked the deck against the ULP.. to make the series more interesting no doubt.. cant blame you.. but in ?july? (seem to have heard that somewhere, not sure where , maybe lunch) we will be MUCH more careful.. trust me..

btw- since we are on the subject, any ETA on the next installment.. im enjoying not having to wait a full year.. just dont make it during football season.. ;)

just wondering, would it have been worse to shoot the scientist in the back of the head as he walked out?? hmm, you probably cant answer that can you?

04-04-2006, 11:25 AM
I'll be the first guy to lay in wait amongst dead players, or be the guy that takes an enemy hostage and uses him as a shield against his own. So I can understand why the scientitst/spy was employeed against us, but the whole of 97th as a "shadow team" was too much. There were no offers made to pick alliegence, there were references to funds saved and available, but never a time to use them on our side. I personally asked 4 different members of 97th if we could hire them at any point or if we could simply get them to stop fighting and there was never a response, just vague answers of "maybe" or "could be".

So if this is going to happen again and it's going to end up getting "stacked on one side" then there really isn't a point of bartering or even trying to get intel. Just kill everything within hearing distance that isn't ULP, and no one wants that.(Except my SAW gunner:))I feel that is took a tremendous amount away from the series by playing it like that. Now that you guys are bringing all this to light it would almost seem that you had planned to "even" the score between the two forces by any means available. If this isn't the case then I would say NURC got a very "lucky" break.

I also understand what you guys say when you reference, "if it doesn't directly violate a rule then you can do it.", but even still that is so extremely open that it could mean anything from me walking around saying "i'm cool" and waving at people, suggesting I may be dead. And in turn shooting them or sneaking past where normally I couldn't. To something serious like taking hostages and holding them for as long as I like.

Just some thoughts, nothing serious.

I like to think that players would not use this idea of elasticity to cheat or make airsoft unpleasant for another player (i.e. hold someone hostage for 4 hours) it is more of a free pass to use your imagination while playing. If you have a cool idea that won't come off as offensive or cheating or breaking a rule go ahead. For example you wouldn't have needed our permision to restrain and interrogate the "spy" had he been detected leaving with bermuda. The 97th conducts practices this way all the time it it gives airsoft a more real feel. This kind of play is also fun because you never know what your enemy will do outside of simply shooting at you.

04-04-2006, 09:26 PM
Also, since we did help nurc, please don't look at this as simply us taking side's or us just wanting to destroy ulp. Just let the series play out, I assure you there are reasons behind what we do, and our decisions. As well, Nurc got completely owned at EJ, so it's about even, each team has gotten completely http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f121/Black97Hawk/gundamballkick37ez.gif once.:p

04-05-2006, 03:19 PM
ok i dont know about owned.. sure in the scenario, but as far as the fighting went.. if they wouldnt have got the jump on the morning siren, and known exactly where our caves were, i think we would have done very well..

maybe im just speakin for phalanx, but for me, the fighting went decently..

..NOTHING like the infamous EJ junkyard pwn.. uncomparable ;)..

04-05-2006, 03:23 PM
Well, not everybody found the cave right away. We went on a 1.5 hours recon, trying to find parts and we passed over your cave without noticing. There was fight below but we couldn't say for sure what direction it was going.

Btw, you guys were not supposed to move the candles :D

04-05-2006, 03:25 PM
Very true very true, however no excuses for the afternoon. You had us pushed all the way back to the mouth of our cave, then by the end of the afternoon we where starting to enter yours. No, it wasn't as bad as the EJ Junkyard ownage, however close.

04-05-2006, 05:18 PM
okay picture time...;)

04-05-2006, 05:34 PM
so wait, not all of your team was in our cave before the game, when the 97th took us back into the woods?

notice how blackhawk (of the 97th) is saying we, refering to NURC. :D and as far as entering ours.. i made sure that didnt happen ;).. i mean not to brag or anything, but i did get a quick 5-6 kills in that disaster..hehe..

i guess they can be comparable, but you also have to remember that EJ ended with all NURC dead, whereas bermuda ended with phalanx approaching enemy lines on a huge counterattack, locked and loaded with renewed morale..

i had refilled all 20 stars, those were fun to empty  you should have seen us when that siren sounded.. i was upset..

...the ULP will rise again...

04-05-2006, 05:49 PM
we didn't know where you were. I spotted you all out with my thermals..... imagination it works. **** happens take a bite. If it makes you feel any better it took me the first 10 minutes of the game pulling me and peachpit out of the swamp. It could have been worse for you.. think of it that way.

The only thing that ****s with me is that bin laden got away.

sry inferno i couldn't help it... the whole time... I'm saying to myself screw bermuda where's ole laden. Never did find him. The scientist guy would have done... but i didn't find him. without the beard it wasn't the same anyway.

by the way.. whomever that was cutting a deal with SF on the hill. A single man. We had you at 25 yards. 5 of us. One with a 24. We were all praying to god you would try something funny. Ner.. happened. If we had known what was really going on.. .... .... ..... bbs ..... .... ... . . . hit.

04-05-2006, 09:00 PM
i know near the end of the day i was up on a hill outside the swanp entrance of ULP's cave. i had my APS2 and managed to tag 2 guys before 4-5 gunners located me. dang that was hell for about 2 minutes with bbs raining down everywhere. i had to pop a smoke just to breath. luckily my sniper detatchment hooked up with two NURC guys who saved my *** with full auto bursts. i couldnt see more than 6ft into the caves becuase it was so dark in there.

04-05-2006, 09:14 PM
No, we as the 97th:rolleyes: . I died right before I could get in the cave, not without taking scorpion with me, but yes, there where a few of us, the 97th, who where just about to come in. As well there where also a **** load of Nurc who also where attempting to enter, but we where there to. And yes, EJ was a freaking massacre:p .

04-05-2006, 09:37 PM
you said the mouth of OUR cave.. ie, the other cave, as in the NURC cave..

and yes, there were a whole bunch of NURC waiting after the strikers attempted to end the ULP.. lol.. but, we got out on counterstrike without any problems because we knew you were there, one of the 97th dimed you out to me, and i told the team..

04-05-2006, 10:20 PM
Forgive the poor Camera man on this pics becuase the camera did suck, its not all his fault. well the finger in the shots is but other than that blame the disposable camera. here they are. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v95/Dante420/OP%20Bermuda/

04-06-2006, 12:14 PM
I am thrilled to death! I actually got in a 2, count them, TWO pictures! I never get any camera time. And the last picture of the guy being "shot" is me. Yeah, I know I look stupid, haha.

04-07-2006, 12:25 AM
Scorpion, actually, the 2 or 3 times that you talked to me about bartering for assistance, you were not ignored. I said maybe to you, and then went to your CO, King, to do the bartering.

As most of you have figured out, the 97th did help NURC out quite a bit. At the end of EJ, they bought our assistance. However, ULP did barter with us for intel a few times during Burmuda, so it wasn't completely onesided.

04-07-2006, 12:44 AM
Well for our first event we had alot of fun. Although i did'nt anticipate being the NURC leader though. We can't wait to see where the next game will be.
After reading the postings here are some facts i don't think the ULP's knew about. The NURC only had one player from the Dec 10th game and i'd say around 65% of the force was playing there first ever organized event. True i did bug the s**t out of the 97th for info but i did'nt see anyone ask for there help. We lost some players during the lunch break, maybe that's why they helped?
Any way the ULP's got a gift by being able to keep the radioactive part even though you did'nt wear the suit. So we are even, we got the case and you got the radioactive matieral.
Part three should be a blast. See you on the feild.

Hats off to the spy for nabbing Bermuda. Very impressive I'd say.

04-08-2006, 12:34 AM
I appreciate all the praise for snatching bermuda. It took much patience seeing as how ULP took me ona long a$$ tour of the field before getting me to their cave. Still, it payed off in the end. I would have nabbed the suit too if I knew of its importance. Prolly not going to be playing much early this summer, I have a son on the way and am going to be spending ALL my free time there. Still, I'll keep my eyes open and see what develops.

Yeah, 97 helped us out alot, but ULP has no idea how much sitting around they did too. I wasn't around for the first in the series, so I don't know how that got us to where we are, but I hope the third part is fun. Anyone have an idea of when it is going to be?

04-08-2006, 11:48 AM
I took a few pictures myself on a digital camera. Some are posted in Nonspecific Airsoft Events here at Airsoft Ohio, others are on my personal album here. If anyone wants to see the full-sized (pre-compressed) picture, let me know and I can send 'em out.

Oh, and my team-mate and I had a great time at the game. We really appreciate all the 97th did there (especially for not shooting us in the back like we had been expecting).

Monkey_slap and I were on top of the ULP cave when we saw the spy and a few ULP walking around. We thought they were holding the spy at gunpoint, so we mustered a few NURC that were around and almost attacked. The NURC forces we were with were too far forward to have yet received word from their commanders of the spy, so Monkey and I decided to hang back and watch rather than rush in a potentially kill the spy. A little tense, that situation.

04-08-2006, 12:46 PM
Navarrodropout, congrat's man with your son, definatly way more important than airsoft. I do believe that the next instalation in the series will be some time in July. If you can't make it to that one, there will also be another before the end of the year. And yes, I did do some sitting around, definatly plenty of that.

SFRLink, thanks for taking some more pic's, I forgot all about it, I was intending to, had 2 camaras, but forgot. I'm glad all of you guys had a good time.

04-08-2006, 02:37 PM
Are you still going to command us ULP'ers in the upcoming series of events? I was in the cave when you got smacked in the lip. OUCH! Looked painful, but like a good leader you delt with it. How could the sqauds and squad leaders done a better job to make your job easier?

04-08-2006, 04:59 PM
To be honest, I wish I could have had a list of teams that were going to be on the ULP. That way, I could have been in contact with the squad leaders before this event happened. It seemed like everything was thrown together for our team, but I guess that happens in war. I think our plan would have worked in the beginning, if we had heard the starting alarm. I'm sorry I wasn't doing a very good job in the end of the second half, but I had to deal with one of my teammates from the 91st. The 91st wasn't working as a unit, and I was getting frustrated. I also feel that communication was key. Most of the transmissions I was getting were choppy, so I didn't have a good idea of what was going on a couple times. Also, if the squads are going to do a specific task, then they should stick to it. That way, I and the rest of the ULP know where everyone is. For example, Phalanx was our HQ security. While P.O.B. was mostly recon. We needed to have the squad's assignments pretty much set in stone. It's ok to do something else every once and a while, but when I ask for reenforcements cause my entire squad gets knocked out besides me, because of the 97th, and no one responds and I don't have any idea where anyone is, then that is a problem. Seriously, I'm not complaining, because I felt that the ULP did an awsome job that day. Thank yous go out to all of the squad leaders and their members. But when I tried to find where squads were, then we can get into trouble. And I can't believe the spy just WALKED out of our base with Bermuda!

04-08-2006, 05:21 PM
Ok, when invite's go out, we will figure out who the team leaders will be, wether it be the ones that where at bermuda, or new one's if need be. Then, we will hopefully get a list of replies for those who WILL be able to make it, and send it to the leaders so they can contact the people and squad leaders. It will be easier, now that we know who is coming and what team they are on since they will be personally invited. And yes king the spy calmly walked out of your base, during a firefight I do believe:p .

04-08-2006, 05:45 PM
Well it's nice to know the ULP's had the same problems we had with commo and secondary leadership. I don't know about everyone else but if i was in a cave radio traffic was very broken up. I think a good change for july if this go's back to the same place would be to move the HQ's out of the caves. If the caves were just a part of the feild i think it would play better because with the leaves out the snipers will be less effective. But thats just an idea.

04-08-2006, 05:57 PM
More than likely, the field for July will be in Tipp City, right now we are working on getting it insured, however we are hopeing that it will be done by then. If we are able to play there, then radio traffic being broken up should not be a problem. I can't say much about the tipp city field though. This being becuase I have yet to personaly set foot on the field, and the discriptions and from what I have seen on Google Earth, it should stay secret until the event.

04-08-2006, 10:12 PM
i thought, I was hinting quite clearly that the next op should be "The Hunt for Bin Laden":D

Ya, well we where going to have this one be that, but we saw him heading out as we where hiking back, so we decided to drop that. Oh, and you didn't happen to see the camel did you? On the way that I came in from 35, there was a farm that had a camel:p no joke.

A camel...wow can't top that, but we saw the most massive sheep any of us has ever seen. It was all alone on a hill on the way down 32E. Swear to god this thing was the size of a small to medium cow.

On a more serious note, I get it about all the rules and how the game turned out. Guess I was more pissed than previously thought. Thanks for taking the time and explaining. We're still in it for the long haul so please keep us on the list;)

Hello All.

Nate the Great I find it very funny you used the word "lone" in your decription of the ULP player in desert camo. It was me and my call sign is Lone Gunman. Thank you for the props. The game is about Honor and Sportsmanship. It was nice to see some familar faces and a few new ones.
Scorpion as always good to pound the dirt beside ya.

AAR should be done soon, as for video, we didn't take any, however I do believe Krayzie from Strikers did, so you will have to ask him about that. We tryed to get a camera for the event, but couldn't find one.
