CODENAME: Thunder III
Return of Chiro
The Midwests Premier
Airsoft event
August 12-13th, .06
@ Challenge Park (CPX Sports)
-INtel-
After narrowly escaping the noose of U.S. forces, Drug lord Hector Chiro went into hiding to lay low and resurrect his once mighty empire. Meanwhile the U.S. attempted to stabilize the region, but encountered stiff resistance and corruption on all levels. The American public tired of countless body bags returning home and forced the Pentagon to withdraw the majority of its forces. Along with DEA and CIA operatives, the U.S. left some garrison troops and Special Forces advisors to train the newly elected government’s armed forces.
After some time passed and his dealings with international arms dealers and militant organizations began to bear fruit, Hector Chiro is ready to once again to return as Colombia's premier Drug Cartel leader. With a series of car bombings, well-planned surprise attacks and help from the locals, Chiro and his surviving lieutenants have managed to gain a foothold in Colombia and reclaim their former cocoa farms and factories for production. The remaining U.S. forces and Colombian armed forces were overwhelmed through firepower and attacks from within.
Not wanting his term to go down in history under these circumstances the President of the United States has again sent in U.S. forces under a Coalition banner including British, Philippine, and Russian units to battle the scourge of the international drug trade. Mission parameters are to capture or eliminate Hector Chiro and his mercenaries, once and for all…
The two-day event features:
Multiple scenarios- special missions- two armored assault vehicles- props- pyrotechnics- smoke grenades- special weapons- night play- free camping- concessions- a dealers area filled with Airsoft products- prize give-aways and more!
Enlist with US/Coalition forces to defeat the Chiro Cartel, or join the Colombian Drug lord in their pursuit of extravagance and greed at the Midwest’s premier Airsoft event, CODENAME: Thunder III.

No Problem. I travel to games out of state as much as I can also, so I know what it entails. (In the past 12 months: Indiana-Wisconsin-Iowa-Missouri). I haven't made it to Ohio, yet, but that is very high on my list. I've only heard good things about Airsoft in Ohio.
Free Camping is available on Friday-Saturday night, and actually Sunday night for teams/players that travel as far as you guys. There are no open fires per city ordinance, but BBQs are fine. There are teams planning on attending from as far as Minnesota and Kansas that will be camping as well.
At this point there is a cap of 300 players as the property can handle that easily. I used to be the Operations Manager for CPX and held the William Shatner Paintball Big Game in 2002 where there were 1500 players on only slightly more property, so 300 will give it a large game feel, but with plenty of space to spread out and sneak around.

Some other things to consider about CT3:
2 Armored Vehicles (Possibly a third)
2 Motorcycles w/ sidecars and Machine guns
Night PLay will be in the town of Bedlam and Armageddon -the bombed out city- under real street lights and other ambient lighting.
Free Camping
Lockers
Real bathrooms
Asphalt Parking Lot
Concessions stand
Airsoft Dealers booths w/ AEGs GBBs, BBs, Batts etc.
Hotel discounts
Hooters Girls coming on Sat.
Post-event party Sunday night @ Hooters Joliet (Plan on traveling home
Monday!)
Casino within 5 miles
More cool stuff to come...
The safety rules/requirements are on the CODENAME: Thunder website in the forums, a pdf will be available after our webguy wins a battle with our server.
you addressed one rumor that came down the vine; about the place being just undersized for airsoft events. could you be more specific about the amount of room you have. This may prove or disperse the rumor about the field being small.
normally i would pm you something like this but i thought it would help if others wanted to know the same info.
either way i've checked out all your webesodes etc and am already sold myself. my only regret is that i couldn't make it down for asylum.

Its 143 acres total, we will be on about 50+ of it. Here is a non-official map of the playing area:
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i242/SummitLakeFilms/b4d52ab7.jpg
There is plenty of room as most of it is very thick woodlands, which makes it seem to double in size. There are some open areas, and "The Black Hills", which is a series of dozens of small hills/mounds. There is also a crashed airplane, an a ridgeline with ravines and washouts. I have never encountered anyone who didn't like the property or its neat add-ons.
I would also like to assure everyone, that we won't pack people into too small of an area. As an Airsoft player, I know theres a balance between nice size large-scale game and freedom to roam/patrol/recon. Thinking back- I did a scenario PB game on this same exact piece of land with 325 players and it was a good size area, even though it was early March without any foliage.
I apologize that the CPX website doesn't have better pics or maps of the property. I had to dig through my old stuff to find most of the pics posted on the websites, and more are to follow soon...
