Is sniping a wise "job" in air soft?

i wanna buy a sniper rilfe. i know what one i want so dont tell me wich to buy... just is it a good "job" ?:confused: i think i want to be a sniper caz im good at geting close to ppl and ima good shot.and i have a lot of camo

Geez it seems like alot of people are becoming snipers. If your going to be a sniper, you can't get that close to people, Just lettin ya know. If your willing to wait, and wait till someone comes near you then yeah your good for it.
PLus you have to spend alot of money upgrading and etc.

Plus's is its totally awesome and your usually wanted by either team so good luck.

yeah i forgot... here in killeen texas (where i live) there r a lot of hills, small forests creeks, and feilds. just 2 name a few. and i can wait a long time if theres a reson for it... oh yea i forgot, is ghille camo a wise buy for me... i more so play with ppl in my naiborhood , theres a lot of land out here though. thx for ur help :cool:

A guy had a ghillie suit and he hated ,but he was always moving. If your just going to stay put and wait then yeah its very good ,but if your going to be moving then it might get stuck on branches.

I'd recommend two things

1. If you've never played before, start with a regular AEG, then consider switching to sniping later

2. Read the book "Shooter" by Gunnery sergeant Jack Coughlin. I had the privlage of serving under him for a few years so I can verify his teachings are accurate and very enlightening. His book will give you a whole new perspective on sniping.

as for staying still or moving. i do w/e is needed to take out key ppl. theres some ghille stuff at either cabelas or bass pra shops(i forget what one it was) as for an AEG i had one it was a POS type of gun. now im gonna try out sniping the gun i found has a bi-pod, lazer, and scope. is there any thing else i will need for just playin' around with ppl in my naiborhood? im not into the comp airsoft so i dont need high tech mumbo jumbo. just what is the basic stuff for sniper? again thx a ton im new at this

The main reason I'm recommending the book "Shooter" for aspiring snipers is because most airsofters I've met view sniping as wearing ghille suits, creeping, stalking, and waiting forever to take just one single shot. Gunnery Sergeant Coughlin (Top sniper in Iraqi Freedom) has changed this entire paradigm to keep up with the ever changing chaos of modern war through the use of revolutionary new sniper tactics. I don't want to give any more away so for more info you'll just have to read the book.

nvm i realy dont need ppl to tell me what is ans is not good. i like the idea of hiding waiting and looking for key ppl. i only wanted to know 2 things, #1. is it a good "job" in air soft. #2. what do i need for a basic sniper just to try it out , i already have a bi pod, scope, lazer (for when i wanna freak out my freind. not for in a A.S fight) do i need any thing else? like i said b4 "i dont need the high-tech-mumbo-jumbo stuff .

Sniping is definitely for you, especially caz you're good at geting close to ppl and you like hiding and waiting. Those are very key attributes.

You're a good shot and have a lot of camo, yeah, on the right track.

Bipod, scope and lazer? Excellent, yeah, snipers don't really need much high-tech-mumbo-jumbo-stuff

Yeah, ghille camo is good for when you're in your naiborhood or on the feild and you have a good reson to wait, cause you said you're good at waiting and ghille camo is good for that.

Hmmm...I never thought to check out Bass pra. Good call.

Be careful with that lazer, you don't want to freak out your freind too much, lazers are scary

Yeah, being an airsoft sniper isn't a bad job, but it doesn't really pay very well, but if you're willing to accept that then it would be perfect for you.

What Bobby is telling you is before we can tell you what you need, you have to know what you want to do first and THAT book will give you an aspect of the sniping.

NOW, if you are telling me sneaking up on people and waiting for them is what you want, then you don't need to be a sniper for this. Fields are filled with campers waiting to spray their high cap mag on the unfortunate players.

Airsoft sniping is not real steel sniping and this is why nobody can tell you what you need because nobody know what you REALLY want to do. For example, some "snipers" will like to stay attached to their squad so their loadout will not be the same than the sniper staying hidden all day (which are REALLY rare in airsoft anyway). if you don't mind mind shooting one bb per day because nobody showed up in front of you, then you can be a sniper.

i just think from looking at the hills, creeks, forests, feilds, caves, underground forts, fox holes, and water falls would be perfect for a sniper. iv always thought that snipers were cool ,and ppl dont realy wanna leave cover when a sniper firers at there heads each time the try to move. and i want to beable to be the inflictor of that fear..it would be fun.. and just shooting ppl who can see me is fun to, u take a shot some, one is down ppl start to look around u get anougher shot in..ppl start to run and theres havoc caz no one knows where u r....thats fear...for them.....sry if theres miss-spelled words "some people are only still alive caz its illegle to kill them"

snipers might look cool but are definately staying very hot with their ghillie (;)) . Only newbies don't know how to out maneuver a sniper, hence a sniper should always have higher FPS to reach further so they can run more when uncovered.

you will most likely be able to shoot one guy before the other guys see you....100-200ft away. Again, airsoft is not real steel and YOU WILL be found in an airsoft game...unless you get solo or duo players in the field.

"still why snipe?" hmmm lets see.....i know this feild better then any one in my naiborhood, and i will be solo when i snipe, if i get in cloce range combat i get out my shot gun and blast the hell outa them.:cool: :D plus seeing as i know this feild better then any one i have the edge . i built all the fox holes , under ground forts, and i made the caves biger .i know the feild caz i made a lot of it theres a tunnle system about 50ft long that i use it takes me from the hill to the creek where theres a lot of cat fish holes (AKA tunnels cat fish some times live in) most of them still have air to .from my tunnle system i can get from the hill to the creek then use the cat fish hole to hide, then go into the cave next to the water fall and climb the later up to a tower on top of that no one knows about the tunnle system only me :p lol

oh yeah Chaos Reigns, i found the ghilly stuff . use google to find cabelas, then put in the cabelas search bar "ghille" it will have the pre made ghile gear that u can ad onto il say theres about 40 ghille camo there..made like pants and shirts...

hmmmm....hide and seek? no more like ...hunter and hunted but i haveit all worked out...if u put the tennels and to and it would be about 100-130 ft long good for a 13 yr old eh?

as im sure u know a shot gun works very well in a cave or tunnle..... thats why i keep one with me . if i get in over my head and ppl start coming at me with AEGs out comes the shot gun.but ppl dont normaly see me im the "Ghost of the feild" but its fun to go solo. i dont like ppl slowing me down . il try and add the shot gun picture.
