Nevermind my previous post, I found what you're looking at. That's not a scope though. Thats a monocular. I'm not sure if you have some sort of helmet mount or what for it, but I don't see that being mounted on a gun easily, nor securely unless you do a good custom job with scope mounts.

There's a mount for a helmet. A bit pricy but well spent if you want your NVG's to work well. I personally would rather have goggles, because when you only have NV on the scope, you can't see all your surroundings.

actually, there are rifle mounts for it that attach to a weaver rail

but how useful would this be to attach it to an aeg?

Like I said. There's one serious flaw if you mount the NVG's on a rifle. The only place that you will be able to see NV is through the scope. If someone is firing upon you your not going to turn your gun while looking through the scope the whole time, it's obvious. For that reason alone I would get goggle NVG's that mount to a helmet. That way you can see everything you would regularly look at. You will have a wider field of vision and still be able to effectivly aim and engage the target.

Yes, ideally, I would he would probably buy the $3000 nv goggles. However, thatn seems a little pricey doesn't it. It would be a far better investment to buy a decent monocular than a crappy set of goggles, for about the same price. Goggles are more expensive, so unless you want to dump over $700 on a decent pair of goggles, its not worth it. A good monocular can be had for $200-300.
Well, I would define "good" night vision goggles as something US Generation 2 or higher. These are cheap, low-end night vision goggles and monoculars.
Things to note:
That Yukon you pointed out has a permanent 2x zoom on it, making it all but useless for anything but spotting, or rifle mounted sights.
Also: Generation 1 and 2 sights require infrared lights to function effectively. This isn't a huge dis advantage, except when you are going up against generation 3(and now 4) stuff, which don't require the lights. To them, you'll look like a small sun running around; easy targets.
Now if you do some looking around and compare some prices, you'll find some good deals. This would be a prime example:

These are ATN Night vision goggles on Ebay for $229 + shipping. Let's compare the two:
ATN Goggles:
Generation: 1
Magnification: 1
Resolution: 40 lines per mm(higher resolution)
Operating time: 8-10 hours
Mount(s) included: Head mount assembly
Warranty: 2 years
This is a factory floor model, which means it's been demoed.
Cost: $229+ shipping
Yukon Monocular:
Generation: 1
Magnification: 2
Resolution: 32 lines per mm(lower resolution)
Operating time: 20 hours
Mount(s) included: None
Warranty: 3 years
Cost: $139 + shipping
After reading a bit, I have discovered that apparently, neither have auto shut-off, so if you are intending to use these around tactical lights, you'll have to be super careful, as said tactical lights have the ability to, and likely will fry your image intensifier tube.

Arn't monoculars just goggles, but only one tube in the middle? If it's not I had the wrong item. I would agree with Loki on the good NVG's. If I were to actually spend $$ on NVG's I would get something worth the money, which is a lot, but well worth it. I personally don't know much about NV, so Loki, could you please explain resolution and what an image intensifier tube is?

actually, monoculars are like binoculars but for only one eye. they look kind of like a small telescope.

in my experience, monoculars suck, but ive only used pvs-7 and pvs-14's.
