View Full Version : Retreat

I came up with this idea while watching Tears of the Sun last night. This involves one team retreating and one team pursuing the other.
The field to be played on should be divided into about 5 checkpoints. Right when the game starts, the two teams(Nigerian Rebels & Seals) should be engaging each other at the first checkpoint. After about 5 minutes or so of gameplay some one would blow an air horn to signal the first retreat. The seals would fall back to the second checkpoint and at the same time the rebels would be engaging them. Another 5 min goes by and the horn goes off and the seals retreat again. And so on until they reach the last checkpoint.
The whole time between checkpoints the rebels would still be engaging the seals, so it's continuous fire. If the seals make it to the last checkpoint they call in the airstrike and win(like the movie). If the seals are killed, the rebels win.
Lots of ammo would be needed for a game like this, maybe upwards of 600 rounds. The seals wouldn't have a respawn and the rebels might respawn once. The rebels should also outnumber the seals significantly. suppressive fire would be key. For this to work, the rebels would have to be aggressive and constantly be engaging the seals while they are on the move.

I came up with this scenario with the reddragon field in mind.
Checkpoint 1 - Seals take positions in the far speedball field, and the rebels would start at the base in the woods behind it. Rebels would attack through the trees into the speedball field.

Checkpoint 2 - Seals retreat to along the big river, not yet crossing it. Rebels keep advancing.

Checkpoint 3 - Seals retreat to across the river into the tree line. Rebels keep advancing across the river.

Checkpoint 4 - Seals retreat to wooded speed ball field, not crossing the smaller rivers. Rebels keep advancing.

Checkpoint 5 - Seals retreat across the smaller rivers and up to the base with the blue barrels. After they control that for 5 - 10 min, airstrike inbound, seals win. If the seals don't make it back to the final checkpoint in time, they lose, so they must stay moving.

This could be a very fun mission because it requires finess and a lead finger. :p (I'm not sure about the times between checkpoints though.)

sounds awesome, i think the rebels should start with 2x the number of seals on their team and respawn once (after the 3rd retreat)
