The date is tentative, I *think* I can squeeze it out of my schedule but I need to double check with the owner and make sure he's good with it (i.e. no other shoots going on).

This will be an Airsoft Ohio event, all AO rules apply. Field fee is only $10 per person, since we aren't done building up the field yet. Everyone who showed up yesterday to help build the field will get free admission.

From there on I will be hosting regular "build the field" event, so everytime you come there will be new trails and structures!

More detail to come, so stay tuned.

Cool, Deathstryke is in. Sorry we missed the Build the Field event.

I'll try to make this one. Might be on call that weekend, just don't know yet. I'll definitely try to get up there though.

I might be there... depends on when I actually move down to columbus and such. Which has been going up in the air with a sudden trip to canada being arranged and such.

Oh I will really try and be there. Sorry I missed building up the field. I had a blast the first time there, for the test game. Very fun place to play.

PUNISHERS should be there.

and also for most if not all of the build field events.

I live about 10 minutes away so I can be there early if you need help with anything. Also, I'm interested in a Systema PTWS M4 and if you have a few free minutes then I'd be interested in getting some information on it.

The field's "address" is:
6250 North Street,
Grandville, OH 43023

Which should get you pretty close to where the actial entrance is. I will work on a better "direction" page later on.

In addition, due to the comments made on the "clean-up event" thread, I want to make it clear that:

1. We will be playing in a field that was occasionally used as a outdoor shooting range, with steel targets setup in measured distances.

2. BUT, NO real gun shooting will be scheduled during an airsoft event.

3. Furthermore, no real firearm is allowed onsite during the airsoft game, no exceptions, no questions asked, even if you’ve "been there done that" before. The field owner is the only one allowed to possess real firearm in the property during an airsoft event (after all, he stores all his guns in his basement...) so please do not bring your real gun(s) with you. If you want to shoot real guns, there will be other events that you can attend (future "clean up" events, or check AR15.com for class-3 shoots).

I've already said in the other thread 2 weeks ago that mixing real steel and airsoft is a REALLY, REALLY bad idea. Unfortunately someone didn't bother to read it before they made their assumptions and caused my rampant, so I think I need to make it double-clear here so I don't go ballistic again. Also per some member’s request we will not discuss real guns here in AirsoftOhio.com

Finally, please know your risk in playing in a wooded area (from landscape to wild animals to poachers or "neighborhood varmint hunters"). Granted it is no difference from any other wooded field such as Hidden Spring in Springfield, except that Springfield has regular ATV riders who scare animals away, and Swingset’s have occasional real shooting events that scare people away. lol

That being said, look forward to a fun day of airsoft skirmishes. There are a lot of untapped resources in this field, and I will continue to host “trial run” events at reduced cost while we build up the field to better fit airsoft. During the ramp-up period, most games will be fast-paced shoot’em up, but once I get to know the field better I will start hosting some mil-sim events there.

Guys,

Due to the current gas price being so high I have a feeling that some people may not be willing to drive all the way for another "trial-run". That being said, so far I haven't heard a lot of feedback per attendence, and if the response is lacking I may cancel this game and change it to another build-the-field event with free admission.

Please e-mail me ASAP at Wallace@Wallace-Lau.com with your AO handle (and your teammates, if you know they are coming) so I can make a better decision. Thanks!

Unless you have a broadband connection in the middle of the woods, I can't come :( I'm on call this weekend.

Wallace - any updates on the status of this event?

If the event is still on... Wallace HAS to cook brats, anyone agree?

So far I haven't heard a whole lot of response... I am more and more leaning towards making the event free but in between skirmishes you will have to help do some clean-up. You will still get some trigger time, just not a full day of skirmish.

All in all, I wish I could've heard from more people. So far only like 3 people e-mailed me saying they will come... that doesn't help in organizing at all. And we all know as soon as I change it to a skirmish + clean the field event 80 people would show up demanding more play time... :P

Since I am entirely not sure how many people will be coming, I am trimming the event down to something more informal. I will be in the field tomorrow at 10am, if enough people show up we will run some games; otherwise I am going to have maybe some practice and then some more chean-up chores like last time. Either case, I would like to wrap things up by 3pm and keep the day short.

Oh and the game is now free. :)

A family need came up that'll prevent me from coming out. Sucks too, just bought a new set of goggles yesterday. Ah well, I hope enough show up to have a good day Wallace and I look forward to seeing folks out on the 17th at Fran Bar.
