Just got home not too long ago... Had a great time, thanks everyone for coming out. I'd say Darkstar did hell of a job setting the game up, from what I've seen everyone had a blast with non-stop action!

Wallace, You are the Skinny Santa.
The bbs are awesome. Unless guarder's .25 are unbelievable, the systema's are going to be my first selection.

Ok, to ask the stupid question. Was the paintball place behind the guys house? I showed up at the address listed and found a road going into trees, with a sign outside saying "Red Dragon Paintball 12 ML --->" I even pulled into the drive once and just found two houses and a barn... nothing much telling me that it was a field. In any case, bummed out that I missed it, looked like great fun.

Goob that was it. You had to keep going down the drive - there was a parking area behind the barn. I'm surprised you didn't see the cars from where you must have been.
Great game guys, I had a fun time. Its always good to see familiar faces at the games. I think we had a shade over 50 people at the event, and the weather turned out to be great. It was good to see some of the WVA guys show up too (Bossman & Chappy).
Big thanks to Brad/Darkstar for putting the event on once again, and also to Wallace and Loki for driving down. Wallace - the pictures look great. Now if only you were as good at airsoft as you are at taking pictures....:p - just kidding.
Can't wait for the next event.

... ah well... it was a fun drive through the rain I guess.
I got there originally at 8:45, so I'm guessing I got there before everyone else. I didn't even see how you could drive behind the barn and I wasn't really comfortable with walking up to a random house in fatigues asking about an airsoft field. Ah well, I know where the field is for next time.
Now I just need to talk to Darkstar to have him ship my order.

Yeah there was only a few cars there at 8:45. I imagine there will be another event coming up pretty soon so perhaps you can make it to that one.

looks like a good time, i'll try to make the one on the 20th. Just one concern that I have though, it seems like there were a lot of people in the pics with just shooting glasses which I would be concerned about for future AO games.

I believe there were three people with shooting glasses at the event (out of over 50). At least two of the three were long-time veterans of the game, and who knowingly chose to take those risks (they must know, they've been playing long enough).
I agree though, I'm not a huge fan of shooting glasses.

I'm upset I missed this one "family reunion". Theres going to be one of the 20th you say? Anyone confirm this for me?
EDIT: Found out the event on the 20th is at Fran Bar. Silly me.

Great game.

Under AO rules shooting glasses are not specifically prohibited (just strongly discouraged). As long as they are ANSI rated and are the wrap around style, not leaving more of a 6mm gap then they are allowed.
However I strongly disagree with this rule. ;)

I'm not a big fan of shooting glasses either, and it is likely that in the future I will require a full sealing goggle at all Airsoft Arms games. While accidents with shooting glasses are relatively rare, the possibility for danger still exsists. We will make it clear when we begin requiring full seal goggles at future AA games.
Once again I would like to thank everyone for attending Operation Risk. It was a great success and I think everyone had a lot of fun. I've been getting a lot of requests as to when Airsoft Arms will be hosting another event, and while it's still not solid (I don't want to step on anyone's toes) I am trying to get something planned as soon as possible.
I must also announce that the Brown team (red flags) won the game by a considerable margin, beating out the grey team by a 2/3 margin. Congrats to the Brown team!!
Overall the game went very smoothly, and I think most people enjoyed the simple conquest concept, something that has worked well in the past. I am hoping to have many more games of this type as it keeps things fun and fast paced!
I will also need to do some tweeking to the ammo rules, as there were some instances where people never seemed to run out of ammo. In future games will will likely establish ammo dumps for players to replentish their ammo supplies instead of letting people carry spare ammo onto the field.
Unfortunately there were several cases of people not calling their shots. While this is the nature of airsoft, please know that in the future I will be taking a much more hardlined approach to combating this issue.
There were also several instances of players accusing others of cheating and getting into yelling matches. While I do understand that a good battle will raise adrenaline levels, it is no excuse to yell or fight about misunderstandings. I know that no one likes to be called a cheater either. Please be mindful of these situations and please do what you can to reduce conflicts in the future. If there is a conflict at a future Airsoft Ohio event, please let me know and I will mediate to help resolve the situation. I want everyone to have fun, even when we do get heated sometimes.
I must say that I was generally happy that I didn't have any instances of people taking off their goggles on the field. If this was not the case, I certainly didn't hear anyone mention it to me. My thanks to everyone!
For the future, I am working on some changes for future events. I am currently working on a medic system which is not likely to be implemented until next year, but I think it will really work well and decrease confusion that past medic rule systems have caused.
I will also be instituting additional rules for grenades, grenade launchers and other BB launchers as well, including splash damage, etc. I think this will increase the usage of BB launchers at airsoft events and change the tactics that people will use accordingly.
Thats about all for now. I hope to see you all at the next event!
Darkstar out.

I saw atleast one time when someone cheated. I don't really care cause the game is over but the last game when the brown team was behind our base, a brown team member was on the speed ball field behind us. I came around to his right and unloaded atleast 2 70 rnd clips from my ak shooting 400 FPS and saw almost every bb hit him and he never called out and he never saw me either. It was rediculous. If you feel a hit you need to call out. I didn't have that great of a time but it seemed like everyone else did. Oh well it doesn't matter now.

Notabob i feel ya man i got it too. I had a good time tho my goggles fogged over for most of the time so i could harldy see lol. Darkstar one problem i had was that the Brwon team started shooting into grey spawn when they took that side of the field. Need to make rules about that. Grey team: we did a good job thought there was some confusion in the beginning. Retaking the towers was a great rush and beautiful teamwork. Grats to Shadow Wolf, D-boy, and Capn J, who along with myself composed Grey side Fast Team.
Looking forward to the next event at Red Dragon

That was my favorite part, we (brown team) stormed the creek bed and took over and pressed up to there. Then you guys just overwhelmed us and forced us to retreat. But I stayed on that side and hid untill you guys sent out a squad to flank us, then poped up and got them haha. Great job guys!

I don't think so Darkstar, I only made it to the edge of the creekbed, then towards the last 20 minutes we made it to there bunker in the back, I never saw the actual spawn. Must have me mistaken for someone else.
