All rules listed here meet or exceed the safety standards created by AirsoftOhio.com. Players are requested to become familiar with established rules prior to the game day. There will be a pre-game briefing to go over all of the rules for the day as well.

Everybody who plays shall know the rules and obey them. If there are any unclear matters, ask the organizers. In some games, there may be additional rules. In such cases these additional rules are told before the game.

All weapons should have a Barrel Blocker or the magazine removed as an extra precaution when the weapon isn't in use.

All players, observers (if applicable) and judges (if applicable) will be using appropriate safety goggles in the game and in the vicinity of a game. All goggles must be approved by the game organizers. DO NOT remove goggles during an ongoing game. All goggles will fit snugly against the wearer’s face and should not move during play. It is forbidden to shoot at someone without goggles. A full mask is not required, thought strongly recommended. All eye protection will use be approved using the following criteria:
o All eye protection must be ANSI 87.1 1989 Rated OR be subject to testing by event organizers. This test will require the eye protection be shot at point blank range with a rifle shooting at Airsoft Ohio's maximum FPS limit(Currently 500FPS w/.2 bbs). Airsoft Arms will be responsible for any damage that this test may cause to the eye protection.
o All eye protection must not have any gaps between the lens/frame and the face large enough to allow a 6MM BB to pass. If the eye protection is not FULL SEALING (meaning NO gaps between the face and lens/frame) then application of this rule is up to the presiding organizer’s discretion
o FULL SEALING ANSI RATED eye protection is STRONGLY recommended, and is the only form of eye protection that can be guaranteed to be allowed. If you show up with any other form of eye protection, you take the risk of not being able play.

0-350fps (1.14 joules): Full Auto, no minimum engagement distance.
350-399fps (1.48 joules): Full Auto, 25' minimum engagement distance.
400-449fps (1.87 joules): SEMI AUTO ONLY, 50' minimum engagement distance.
450-500fps (2.32 joules): SEMI AUTO ONLY, 75' minimum engagemnet distance.

All players will have a 300BB ammo limit per scenario for standard AEGs. You may choose any magazine configuration you prefer as long as you DO NOT exceed the 300 round capacity limit. Drum mags, auto-winding mags are not permitted for standard AEGs. Only support weapons may use drum or auto-winding magazines.

Support weapons may carry a maximum of 1000 BBs. Drum mags or auto-winding mags may be used for support type weapons ONLY! This will be strictly enforced. Ammo limits are designed to simulate an “OUT OF AMMO, RETURNING TO BASE” scenario and not to purposely hinder game play. It is also to reduce instances of “Pray’N’Spray” and will hopefully speed up game play overall.

Carrying BB's onto the field
Players may bring extra BB's onto the field for reloading between missions, however all reloading must be done in your teams base or other secure area. If a player runs out of ammo during the game, they should return to their base and reload, however reloading in the field should be avoided to reduce accidents. Also, Players that leave the field boundaries to reload must return to their base prior to re-entering play. If you leave the field boundries for ANY reason (unless you have received specific instructions and are escorted by one of the scenario leaders), you will be considered OUT until you respawn at your base.

Support Weapons will be defined as any airsoft rifle which replicates ANY real rifle designed specifically to fit a Light Machine Gun (LMG) Role. Airsoft Replicas such as the M249, MG36, RPK, etc, will have a MAXIMUM of a 400FPS muzzle velocity as they are primarily used for sustained full-auto fire. If the gun Chronos higher than 400, it may not be used. ALL OTHER AEG'S SHOOTING FASTER THAN 400 FPS MUST SHOOT SEMI AUTO ONLY.

Sniper Rifles will be defined as any airsoft rifle which replicates ANY real rifle designed to specifically fit the role of a sniper rifle (I.E. No MP5K's converted to a sniper rifle). PSG-1, APS2, L96, Super 9, etc, would quality as a sniper rifle. Sniper rifles will have an established 500FPS limit. The standard AO deviation of 2% will still apply, however guns shooting faster than 500 will be frowned upon.

All players should aim for center mass, meaning the stomach area. Head shots are strongly discouraged unless the head is the only body part exposed by your target. Please take care to avoid head shots when possible, as injuries may result from head shots.

Please take care when engaging targets at close range (any distance closer than 30 feet). If engaging your target at close range, it is STRONGLY recommended to switch to a lower powered back-up airsoft gun (like a gas blowback pistol) if possible. If you must use your primary gun, please use semi-auto ONLY to avoid spraying someone at close range. When entering a structure or other area where close range combat is extremely likely, players should always switch to semi-auto. These practices increase the safety and fun of all players.

All point-blank shots should be avoided. If necessary, aim for the legs or lower body. Shooting at eliminated players, non-players, and judges or organizers is forbidden.

All blind firing is strictly prohibited. DO NOT take blind shots under any circumstances. Players receiving fire from blindly shot BBs may be subject to otherwise avoidable injury. All shots should be taken by properly aiming at your target. Players seen blind firing will be subject to a detailed explanation and demonstration of blind-fire rules by event organizers in order to further educate them about the dangers of blind-firing.

ALL airsoft safety rules which serve to reduce play accidents were established by many people involved with AirsoftOhio.com. These seasoned players and airsoft veterans spent their own valuable time and money to test different rules to develop the safest possible playing experience for players of all ages. These rules should always be taken seriously and adhered to at all times. Rules are in place for a reason, to keep everyone safe.

If ANYONE has questions about these rules, or would like additional clarifications, please contact us at sales@airsoftarms.com or ask any event organizers at the event.

AO has no specified ammo limits, it is up to the event organizer.

The reason for the limit is explained in the event description:

"Ammo limits are designed to simulate an “OUT OF AMMO, RETURNING TO BASE” scenario and not to purposely hinder game play. It is also to reduce instances of “Pray’N’Spray” and will hopefully speed up game play overall."

I just hope you guys enforce the ammo limit because I know some people at OP: Tangled Web: Rebirth had way more than they were supposed to be carrying.

07-28-2005, 03:28 AM
Should have two SFR members there

07-28-2005, 09:28 AM
Great explanation of the rules Locutus. Now its up to you guys, the players, to follow them.

I like the idea of a 300round ammo limit. This amount should be PLENTY! I've never used more than 1 hi-cap during hour long games.

See you all there!

07-28-2005, 09:45 AM

Good luck i hope the scenario's are better this time around(not to be insulting at all)... also i would reccomend another briefing on the goggles thing as this event may tend to bring a younger crowd.... good luck brad ill be out of town(florida) but i hope all goes well.... ill be at the next event you guys sponsor.....see ya

For the ammo thing, could I bring all of my stds and bring four and leave the other 4 at the ammo dump?

07-29-2005, 11:07 AM
You may not bring more than 300 rounds onto the field.

Darkstar out.

07-29-2005, 03:26 PM
Ok I had reason to believe that there was to be an ammo dump. Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

Looks like as long as you leave the mags that wont make you go over 300 at the base, you'll be okay.

if u still have ur armband can it only be 20$?

07-30-2005, 12:40 PM
Yes, if you still have your armband from Op: Tangled Web, then you will only need to pay $20 dollars.

Also, for those putting at deposit down for new arm bands, please bring $20 for your registration and $5 for your armband deposit. We ran a bit low on $5's last time, even though I had brought more with me. If everyone can do that, that would be great!

Here is the weather report. Looks like it's going to rain like last game. Weather (http://www.weather.com/activities/other/other/weather/tenday-details.html?dayNum=1&locid=45130&from=36hr_fcst_undeclared)

08-05-2005, 08:52 AM
are we still gonna play. The forecast doesn't look that bad.

08-05-2005, 09:18 AM
Game is rain or shine.

I don't think anyone was seriously injured by falling rain last game, so we should be ok. :)

08-05-2005, 09:24 AM
k just wasn't sure. Thanks

08-05-2005, 10:27 AM
All, if you need to place an order to be picked up at the game, you need to place the order by 5PM today, otherwise it may not get pulled in enough time.

Also, anything purchased off of the website by the end of the day will get our sale discount (10% off airsoft/20% off gear). Items purchased at the game tomorrow will not.

Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

08-05-2005, 10:27 AM
Hopefully it will cool every thing down.

08-05-2005, 01:39 PM
Hello All,

Once again we'll be playing rain or shine, but most of the forcasts are looking like it will generally be shine!

Operation Risk is going to be a simple game of flag capture and will run all day long. There won't be scenarios, and we might throw in some additional objectives for fun, but overall we want to keep things simple and allow people the chance to play the entire field.

Located around the field are 10 flag stations. Your job will be to capture each flag station and raise your team's flag. You will also have to record your team's time with a red or blue pen. There will be 3 pens per side and each team will be responsible for hanging onto their pen. Only players with the pens will be eligible to record the times. Also, anyone can use the pen at any time, so if the person who is carrying the pen gets shot out, he can give it to someone else.

Here is an updated map of Red Dragon Paintball with the locations of each flag clearly marked. FEEL FREE to print out your own map to bring to the game. Each team will be supplied with 3 laminated maps for the duration of the day. (PLEASE TURN THESE MAPS IN AT THE END OF THE DAY).

We expect this game to be extremely fun as flag grab games have always been some of the best games I've played in the past. It keeps things simple and allow almost everyone extra trigger time.

There is unlimited respawn for the entire day. When you are shot, clearly call out several times, raise your hands and walk to a safe area. Proceed to your original entery point. People may only respawn in groups of 5. So if you are out, you can go and reload, return to your entry point, and respawn once a group of 5 people is at the respawn area.

There will be NO medic rules.

I want to make SURE that EVERYONE knows that the goggle rules will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. If you DO NOT have ANSI rated goggles, we will be required to conduct a muzzle velocity test, or if you choose, you may rent paintball goggles from Red Dragon for $2.00 dollars. I WILL NOT allow shop goggles at this game. We will also have paintball masks and tactical goggles available for sale at the game in case people wish to purchase them.

For additional information on goggle rules, please visit: http://www.airsoftarms.com/oprisk.php

If anyone has any additional questions, PLEASE post your questions here.

Thanks again and hope to see you at the game!!

Darkstar out.
