super 9 questions

Hi everyone,

I bought my first airsoft gun, a super 9, on ebay for 26.00 I ALREADY OWN THIS GUN SO DONT TELL ME NOT TO BUY ONE! it has a hop up sticker on the side, does this mean its the "pro" version. if not, how could i tell? Also, I am very mechanically inclined and am a certified airsmith (i used to play and work at a paintball shop).. I was checking out some of the "upgrades" you can do to the super 9 and was wondering what the real benefit of hopping up the fps would be.. Will i get more range and accuracy out of this or will it just hinder its performance while making it shoot really hard? Once again, i already own this gun so there is no reason i should get any replies telling me not to get a super 9..

Run a search, there is a wealth of info on any kind of "upgrading" you can perform on the super 9. All of it would be DIY stuff really.

wow i'm impressed by the wisdom of some of the people who are on this forum.. seriously though, i'm not asking for your opinion on the gun because i already know what it is in most cases. i have some fairly intelligent questions posted and so far i havent gotten any intelligent responses (excluding d_man). if you dont know what you're talking about or just want to be an a$$, then dont respond to my posts. look at the price i paid, 26.00, for a FIRST airsoft gun. ok... 26.00... not bad. can someone please restore my faith in humanity and actually read my question before they give me their brilliant answer?

The Super 9 cannot be upgraded in any professional manor. Why? Because the gun is made out of low-quality materials, and when you put a stronger spring in it, to boost the FPS, the gun will actually explode, and or shatter. You can take it apart, and add spring spacers or such, which might give you another 20 FPS or so, but really there is not much you can do to it.

first of all the bolt on a super 9 is almost all metal exept a couple things, i would look on airsoft arms in the spring section, i believe they have some springs i don't know if they are more powerful but its worth a shot, i wouldn't worry about it exploding that wont happen unless you take a part out you weren't supposed to, or something along those lines, give that a try if that doesn't work i don't know really i never looked into upgrading mine back in the day so?

Yes the spring also say they are ment to fit the m40, which they do not.

It may be made out of metal. But it's very cheap thin metal, and WILL break.

Just because something is made of metal, doesn't mean it's strong.

I'd recomend turning it into a flamethrower with a browngas conversion kit

come on fox don't treat me like im stupid, i've delt with allot more super 9s than you and the bolt's on those things is pretty strong stuff, in all things considered ENjamz unless you have allot of time on your hands i wouldn't bother upgrading it, it would take a couple custom parts that you would have to make yourself, sorry fox if i sound like a know it all, i don't want to start a fight, and you are very knowledgable in most regards

ne way, the super nine comes with like 415 FPS stock dosn't it? if i'm wrong sry, but if it does why would you want to upgrade 415, thats pretty good, (although the gun isn't).

From what i was told (i don't really know for sure) but most of the bolts are really crappy pot metal, They don't use quality control when they make them so you might just have gotten the good batch:confused:
