What is wrong with these rules here? This is fair and obeyed by others at all fields.

The following engagement rules must be obeyed at all times (FPS measured with 0.2 gram BBs):

0-350fps (1.14 joules): Full Auto, no minimum engagement distance.
350-399fps (1.48 joules): Full Auto, 25' minimum engagement distance.
400-449fps (1.87 joules): Semi Auto only, 50' minimum engagement distance.
450-500fps (2.32 joules): Semi Auto only, 75' minimum engagemnet distance.

Anything thing over the 350 make it semi auto only!! This seems fair!!

Oldschool, im not trying to offend you or anything, and correct me if im wrong, its just that to me 20 dollars seems a little steep. I was just kind of wondering where all of that money goes to. Once again i mean no offence. Just a harmless inquiry.

Plus in the form it says this form must be updated each year and it says "FORM VALID FROM 04/01/04 TO 04/01/05" so it would be void for this event right?

There will be a working chrono at this game so make sure your guns shoot under 350fps if you want to play. I will also take players picture when they turn in their waiver and chrono their guns. Hopefully this will prevent any future damage.

The CIA group must protect the plant without killing any DEA agents, OR they must kill ALL the DEA agents. (Yes, this means it is possible that DEA and CIA could get into firefights.) CIA's team leader had better make the RIGHT choice.

Operation Lock & Key
Terrorists hold up in a building have threatened a large city block with a dirty bomb of unknown size. A tactical response team has been dispatched to neutralize the terrorist threat and and disarm the bomb.

Mission A: Neutralize terrorists and retrieve case with code to disarm the bomb. Code will be combination to a lock.
Mission B: Neutralize terrorists and retrieve case with bomb inside. Bomb will be a case with a pad lock on outside.
Mission C: Return bomb code to bomb squad to disarm bomb. Once lock is unlocked the game will be over.

4 Teams
Terrorists with bomb
Terrorists with bomb code
Tactical Response Team (TRT Alpha)
Tactical Response Team (TRT Bravo)

Here's how it works:
Terrorists(10 players) with bomb code will be defending top floor of the building. Terrorists(10 players) with bomb will be defending office area on 5th floor. Tactical team will split in two: mission A and mission B. Once TRT A retrieves the code they must return it to TRT B. When TRT's have the code and have unlocked the case with bomb inside the game will be over. Terrorists and TRT's will respawn in separate stair wells at the bottom in groups of five. This will be a one hour time limit game.

This is just a suggestion. Feel free to comment or add to it.[B]

Evil Head
05-01-2005, 11:29 PM
One other thought that I had was that each TRT would have 2 or 3 designated bomb techs. If the terrorists eliminate all the bomb techs then the game will end. Bomb tech players would not respawn as bomb techs. They could re-enter the game as normal TRT players. Plain shirts will be a good idea since there isn't much need for camo indoors. It will help define teams without armbands or tape.

Just another idea... I will try to come up with some more objectives before Staturday.

BTW Oldschool... Were you able to add my Friend Marc to the list? He is making the trip from Toledo.

the waivers will be fine evil head he will be on there bring him along, i left this day up to the players and so far great play is ahead, i and others will be refs and watch to make sure no more doors are pryed open and glass broke. we want to keep it as safe as possile so all can enjoy thanx oldschool

Scorpion
05-02-2005, 12:49 PM
As for the shirts i think it needs to be regular clothes entirely or at least half camo for the two teams.

DEA (TRT) - MUST have camo pants and any shirt that ISN'T black or white.

Drug company - No camo whatsoever, OD and black pants are ok, but no camo of any kind. Only Black or white T-Shirts allowed.

This will make a little easier to tell the teams, Evil head way to go on the scenerio it will be really fun.

Operation Particle Accelerator

Now that the TRT has dispatched the terrorists and neutralized the bomb, a radio call comes in informing the teams that a second group of terrorists are found hold up in another part of the building. The terrorists a defending four canisters containing radioactive material. It seems that the terrorist, caught off guard buy the assault, were unable to complete the construction of their dirty bomb. The TRT's must reassemble and move in to Neutralize the second group of terrorists and retrieve the canisters.

Teams:
Terrorists
Tactical Response Team

Here's how this one works:
Good guys vs. bad guys. Terrorists will place four canisters(Painted bright colors) on different floors. TRT's will have to move up stairwells and neutralized the terrorists and retrieve the canisters. It's like capture the flag with four flags. Terrorists have to defend canisters. Once the TRT's have brought all four canisters to the ground floor the game will end. Respawns will occur like the first round. One hour time limit.

It would help in these games if terrorists wore non BDU tops. Regular shirts, white or grey. This way it will be easy to switch out teams between games. Everyone should bring a civilian shirt if they want to defend. You can throw you BDU shirt back on if you want to attack. Or do you best to look like a terrorist! I.E. Dress like a homeless person.
I will be wearing a T-shirt and Shemagh with desert bottoms. I will also bring my digital woodlands for team change.

oldschool
05-02-2005, 07:25 PM
ok evil head here is the kicker when a bad guy gets shot he will respond and change shirts to become a trt this way it will narrow down the terriost fast. but now comes a more switch in the game only 1 high cap for each terriost but they will have ammo very close to them this will keep everyone moving and not in one place. we will see how they handle pressure, thanx oldschool

05-02-2005, 07:29 PM

Hello All,

I just wanted to let people know that I still have a few rentals left, so contact me via Private Message to reserve one. If we have any extras, I'll have them at the game.

Also, if anyone needs anything from Airsoft Arms. Send me a message via Private Message here before 7pm tonight (Friday).

Also...can someone put a link to the updated waiver in here for ease so that Oldskool isnt rushed to send everyone waivers late at night or what not..it would make things a bunch easier. Or at least have someone bring quite a few extra copies for people to fill out just in case. Always be prepared, couldnt hurt.

Lotsa fun and some good kills today...however:

1. If anyone picked up/found a TM G36 standard magazine with a piece of black hockey tape on the bottom please PM me or post a reply saying you found it.

2. Several bandages to my right arm and neck later, I have decided that blasting someone with full auto fire within ten feet is a bad thing. Please, consider the freeze or semi auto when engaging in extreme close quarters fire, because right now my arm looks like Neo's arm right after he got unplugged from the Matrix. Personally, I don't mind coming home bleeding, but I can't speak for the guy who took three ICS M4 rounds to the nose/face from eight feet. Just a friendly reminder to try to keep the game as fun, safe, and painless as possible.

3. See you at FranBar.

Peace

Well, to just put my two cents in...

This was probably the worst event in airsoft history! Haha, not worth $20 by a long shot. It was definitely a good building for airsoft, but without defined rules, ref's, and honest players, the game quickly got out of hand.

Pros.
1. Awesome building.
2. Great scenario ideas.
3. Great turnout of players.

Cons.
1. Players not calling outs.
2. Unlimited ammo (SPRAY AND PRAY)
3. Unbalanced teamplay scenarios.
4. $20 fee, not worth it.

The reasons for my lack of enjoyment in this game were simple, and I will explain each of the cons for you.

#1. Many players did not call outs, ask anyone, most left early as a result.

#2. Unlimited ammo, up close spray and pray with full auto, no real "tactics" required for a good CQB game, therefore it was more less shooting "BLIND SHOTS" from around corners and not really storming rooms like real TRT's would.

#3. Terrorists could not win, period. And when a terrorist died, they joined the TRT's in a respawn, creating next to impossible odds for the terrorists to play against. And aside from that the bombs were just glorified props. Why were we defending something that would never "blow up"? I think a timelimit would have been a good idea in this situation as well.

#4. Why the hell did we have to pay $20? I did not see anything that deemed a fee of twenty bucks at all, I didn't even get complementary bb's. :)

--------------------------

With that said, maybe you guys can learn something and make the next event more appealing to more trained players, and not newbie spray and pray people who came in wearing thick padded clothing and face shields and stuff. I mean, that may explain why they weren't calling their outs, they simply couldn't feel them.

Had a good time!

Semi auto next time...
Also low cap mags to encourage CQB tactics...

Maybe next time we can break up into smaller groups and run several scenarios in different areas. A couple of 10 on 10's broken up by level of experience. Don't bail out on this place... lets work on it and make it work.

for one, i didnt notice ANYONE not calling their hits. tehre was a descripancy in the scenario with the monster but i didnt directly witness it so i cant really say. the $20 fee is a little steep. oldschool, did they ever fix the old CQB place? it was a much better place for it IMO.

One thing for sure, in a respawn game, why are you cheating? Die and then respawn! Simple. I must have respawned a dozen times each game. Get shot walk down stairs meet some friends and climb back up. GOOD CARDIO!
The games were designed so that the terrorists would lose. This was to keep people playing and have a resolution. I had no problem with this and I played as a terrorist each time.

Yeah, I played as a terrorist each time as well, and I sure as hell felt like one. For pretty much the duration of the day, I was holed up somewhere with two or three buddies trying desperately to keep an ever-growing force in a stairwell from rushing in and wiping us all out. Fun stuff, and we did a helluva job - but it was kinda disconcerting knowing that I was just sitting (or kneeling, painfully) for an hour or so until 30+ guys rushed in and riddled me with BBs. There was no way we could survive, and to me, that's part of the fun. I even thought about trying to get my team to make our way downstairs (trying to evade the bad guys) and "get away" just so we could say we lived.

Truthfully, I didn't mind the scenario that much. One thing you guys should consider, though, is how safe that scenario should be. How can you control a growing force of 30 trigger-happy guys just looking for someone to shoot? During that second game, I saw nearly that many rush into a room just to kill one remaining terrorist. That was completely unnecessary.

I know some people did not SEE others not calling outs, but you have to admit, whether you saw it or not (which i did...often), chances are some people didnt. The spray and pray style for ammo did make the game a little less enjoyable, but the people who ackowledged this did limit their ammo and only carried a moderate amount on them. The building was also good with all the interesting places to hide and ambush and what not, though the camping of a specific position for a long time kinda got annoying...real quick, but everyone had their excuse so, yeah. I'm no expert by any means due to lots of inactivity on my part, but I know enough to know when people are lying, making cheap excuses, and just whining. People make good points, its a respawn game...just die and do it again, no biggie. Everyone seemed to complain about getting hit when my poor friend, Sean, got shot no where BUT in the face...about 5-10 times per game, and he never whined a bit. It annoyed him, but he didnt whine and he took his hits. So for future reference for those who know they whined about getting shot...dont whine, or dont play.

P.S.: sorry about the excessively long post...bad day and i'm just venting, hehe :D

good game but rules weren't followed like... stairwells being OFF LIMITS! after respawn it was impossible to get back up. overall i would say it was a good day except for someone who was throwing a dead pigeon found in a bathroom. wtf?

$20.00 for a day of airsoft is a bargain compared to what it costs to do other things. $34.99 to go to Kings Island and stand in line for half the day. Can't tell you what it cost to go to a Bengals' game these days. $20.00 will get you less than 10 gallons of gas. $20.00 is a bargain for a days entertainment, trust me. Try to get into Disneyland! $53.00

Well at least you saw the good in my post? Sounds to me like you are the bad apple. But whatever, I did have fun, I am just saying that it would have been better if the day would have been planned a little more than it was. I really dont care wether you like that or not oldschool. Honestly, we never plan to attend another of your events in the future because from what I understand they are all the same, without any improvement from previous mishaps.

Also, why the hell are you lecturing me on the "hell" that CQB is? I play airsoft, I understand the risks involved. Matter of fact I used to play paintball as well, which hurts a lot worse. But reguardless of that situation, from what I know, NOONE HAS DIED from playing airsoft, so why be afraid to get hit? So maybe I misunderstand your post, but I do not understand why you are giving me a speech about airsoft hurting, becaues honestly its nothing to me.

well dustin i wasnt pointing a finger at you i was just saying cqb is fust that cqb, also we try to stop the problems but there is no way i have people doing damage like writing on the wall, so it is a hard day. as far as the day I LEFT IT UP TO THE PLAYERS ON THE GAMES NOT ME JUsT A DAY OF PLAY, thanx for not coming to anymore events as i dont need anyone with tears ,i play at all the events in ohio please look me up so we can talk more maybe you will understand where i stand.paintball is as painfull but when i played we never got this close, i know that some people didnt call out or shoot others to close but i cant be evey place in the building.so i guess we will see at other events sorry to let you down but this wasnt a planed out day please read the forms before you go to any more events oldschool

First off, I came with friends. They were speaking "GOOD" of your event. I went by their word, not your prized "FORUMS", and I am sorry that you feel that way. As far as this "TEARS" bullcrap you speak of, since when were there tears?

I will tell you your problem oldschool, and its very simple. You have a very immature mindset, and by attacking me personally for my "OPINIONS" you have proven that you are no more mature than the 12-16 year olds you sanction at your event. So, with that said, maybe your problem isnt you, it may be the maturity level of your players. As a matter of fact you stated writing on the walls, DIDNT PEOPLE DO THAT IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL? Really man, mature adults know how to play a sport, not saying that there arent young players out there that cant be mature, I know quite a few of them. But maybe you should referee your events, and ban anyone who breaks your rules. After all, YOU MADE THE RULES, YOU SHOULD ENFORCE THEM. Crybaby. heh.

That's pretty cool of you, giving the players a chance to decide how they want to play (especially since everyone had to pay to get in). But when it comes to safety, there has to be some considerations taken. Airsoft should be kept as safe as possible, because that keeps everyone from getting hurt (as well as promotes the maximum amount of fun to be had). For example, someone in the other thread mentioned that no CQB rules were established prior to play. Sure, you can say that the rules of CQB play should be obvious, but you can't assume that everyone is aware of them.

Also, games just can't totally be left up to the players. I'm not sure if that was the case last Saturday, but things can quickly become unnecessarily dangerous if it ever is the case. Like I said, 30 guys running into a room to shoot one guy is NOT safe. I don't remember hearing about the guy getting hurt, but the possibility was there. I think everyone would agree that it's better to avoid a situation like that in the first place. I know we sign the waivers, but come on - who wants to see someone get seriously injured? Airsoft is a tough sport to play, especially indoors at close quarters - but that shouldn't be an excuse. If anything, that should make everyone even MORE vigilant about safety.

Just some thoughts.

Like making a counter-accusation and calling him immature is any better? Pfft.
