Great game! A big thank you to the organizers for making this possible, Wallace for letting us use some armbands and getting the game going and everyone who showed up and froze with the rest of us. Meeing a lot of you guys was great enough!
This was also my new teammate's first game, ever, so I would like to thank you guys for showing a good time to him as well. He's pretty much hooked now ;).
Also, this was the first official AO game I have attended as well. In one and a half weeks, I will be saying goodbye to Ohio and making the move to Florida. So a big thanks for my last hurrah here in Ohio.

That was Great.
The weather could have been better but who really cares...(wallace)
I thouhgt the games were sweet. Phalanx and myself ponned the terrorists in the begining of the bomb game.
Well I had an excellent time.
Thanks to Slayer all of 97th for the event.

And ya I was the other guy prone in that game Slaya

Thanks to everyone for showing up, putting up with the cold, and being patient with me. Not only was this my first event, but also my first time at fran bar. Also a special thanks to Wallace for stepping in and helping out to make things go smoothly.
Our cameras weren't working properly, so we didn't get any video footage, but I think we got some decent pictures. I will try to get them posted up as soon as possible.
We did have one major problem...We couldn't eat all the hotdogs! We sure tried though. :D Thanks again, and I hope to see you all at future events.

Hey, I wanted to thank you for organizing and hosting the event, and I wanted to thank you for the opportunity to help support a good cause.
My thanks also go out to everyone who shared the field. I had a good time, along side of, and against, everyone out there.
Special thanks go to a few individuals in particular who went above and beyond the call to help and offer assistance to myself, my squad, and others around the game in any way they could. I usually don't like singling people out, because it has the tendency to make the others who weren't mentioned feel like their contributions were somehow less. So, to those of you, and you know who you are, thank you. :)
I also want to apologise to those who I had to betray in the mission where we were constantly swapping 5 man teams as you hit the regen. I had a great time with that game, it gave me an opportunity to work with a lot of people I ordinarily would not have. It also had the downside of, when I got shot, I respawned and had to turn around and hunt you guys down when I had just shared the field with ya as teammates. So there was some confusion there, and I'm sorry to all of my temporary teammates who I had to shoot 15 seconds later. :( But thank you for being good teammates when we worked together, and good opposition when we weren't. It was a good day. :)
Thank you for the cheesy dogless buns and the cookies... They kept me rolling strong. ;)
I look forward to seeing you all again in the near future at another event, taking place here at AO, or at out of state games, or at international events hosted in Ohio. I had a good time. Keep coming back for more!

As this being my true first airsoft event i can say now that i am truly hooked. i wanna thank Scropion for inviting me and helping me get started. I think the whole thing at fran bar went pretty smoothly execpt for losing five mp-5 clips. (i....well we found those by the way) thanx for helping me look. Im looking forward to future events. I hope to see most of you again at another event. thanx again.
P.S. i still cant feel my toes.
Note to self: Buy water proof boots.

P.S. Hopefully we'll have another big event at fran bar in the near future :D

This was a great game. I have been to Fran Bar two other times, and every time that i went back it kept getting better. Thanks for hosting this Slaya and Wallace for smoothing things out. I hope to see some of you guys around in the future, and hope that everyone had a great time.

I am glad to announce that we did reach our goal of $500. With Fran Bar donating $10 of their $15 per person and with the additional $5, we made just over our goal. Thanks again for everyone making it possible.
We only ate about half of our hotdogs, so we will be donating those to a local soup kitchen. And we will try to get our pictures posted by today or tomorrow. I will let you all know when they are up.
I would also like to urge everyone to make good use of this forum. Tell us all of your war stories, both heroic and embarrassing. Discuss likes, dislikes, and possible improvements about the games we played. Whatever feedback you have, I would like to hear it to improve future games.
For instance, at one point in the first speedball game, we were getting flanked, there was an enemy player in the prone position laying by some brush, and even though we exchanged much fire, neither of us were dying. I decided to run sidestepping around the brush and hopefully shoot him before he shot me. Well, about 2 ft. away from my cover I got my feet tangled up in a large branch and I fell flat on my back. Boy was I impressed.

Heh... Sorry about that. If we'd known, we would have been happy to bring you (or anyone else for that matter) something else. Glad everyone had a good time. And thanks to Brad and Wallace for letting us keep the rental gun in overtime, and keeping the store open so we could return it that night.
Also, big high-five to Dante and Cajones on that intense 10 minutes or so in the last game of capture-the-flag carrying out our black ops. mission., and to whoever the group of guys it was that lit me up 30 seconds after I responed in the second game we played in the "junkyard," that was some nice troop movement.
Thanks for being such a good crowd to work with. I will ask that whoever left the pile of trash on the picinic table not do such things in the future, but i'm sure this was unintentional, right.
Looking forward to seeing alot of you again at rising city.

my favorite memory of the event was the first capture the flag game. me, enoch, ics_assualter and someone else ran through the tunnels and surrendered 5 men before firing a shot. thanks for every who showed up and had fun. for this being our first event we hosted i think it went well.

My favorite memory was taking a bunker in the second speedball game and holding it for a good amount of time. I had teammates covering my flanks while I proceeded to play "whack-a mole" with about 8-10 enemy players. Someone eventually went around, ran up directly behind the bunker and surrendered me, but they didn't notice my teammate Bill, who was ducked down two feet next to me outside the bunker ;)
The only thing I saw that was wrong was a couple people (thought I don't know who they were) were using hot guns in the structures. I got hit in the shoulder standing outside from someone inside by a gun shooting at least over 400 FPS from a couple feet (the blood and 1-inch welts on my shoulder through BDU's and under armor proved that). I know these rules can be broken by mistake or just by being startled, so I can let it go. Just be careful if you are upgraded, a 400 FPS gun isnt bad at a decent range, but up close it hurts like hell.
But in all honesty, I was having too much of a good time to really think of anything negative. It was a blast. I could see some tempers flaring toward the end of the day as the adrenaline and caffeine wore off, I was even guilty of this too.
I heard a lot of people complaining of others not calling their shots, but I didn't see any of this first hand and didn't have a problem, so I won't comment. However, enough people were claiming to witness cheating so who knows. I don't care either way, I had fun and everyone I shot called their hits anyways :)
I would have liked to see more games in the junkyard, but I can understand for that day because it was practically a mud pit. I slipped and fell, dropped a couple mags and had to run back 20 feet to get them when I realized my gun had no ammo when I went to fire.
These are just minor things though that I am sure are present at every game as the day passes. People lose energy and get cranky. People get numb and cold, and can't feel some of their hits.
Oh well, it was a blast to say the least. I'm still sore today!
Inferno

I must say things went more smoothly than we expected, especially with the team switching game. There were some complaints about hot guns in the tunnels and people not taking their hits, but nothing that wasn't easily handled. I had a few times that i saw the bb hit a player and they didn't call it, but then again i had a stock aeg and they were fairly long range hits, so i doubt they felt it. I still got the satisfaction of knowing i hit them. :D
As far as memorable moments: When i surrendered Dante after he came out of the tunnel and surrendered 3 of my teammates, but didn't see me standing right beside him. Also, "the tree" in the very last game. I love that tree. It saved my butt a lot in the last stronghold game we played.
Thanks to everyone for enduring the cold and for your cooperation and patience with us. It really helped us out a lot. Hope to see you all at Rising City.

I had alot of fun, i think my favorite game was the one whith the bomb, despite the fact the other team found the documents before we got started.that was a pretty fast paced game. i think i need to hurry up and either join or make a team so the next time i go to a game iam not standing around like a bum.

Hmm, not sure what that has to do with the Brett Childs Event...
Anyway, I am sorry to say that we are having some technical difficulties with posting the pictures. I am trying to post them in the gallery, but it keeps saying "No picture was uploaded. If you really did upload a picture, check and make sure your server allows you to upload". Now there is a good chance I just don't know what i'm doing, seeing as how I've never posted pictures on AO, so if anyone knows how to fix this, please help me out.
So Thanks for posting those pics up for us Wallace, and I will get mine posted as soon as I can.

Slaya - wonderful job, I had a great time. I think the respawn with a new team idea and game was very fun. Nice organization and leadership. I wont address any rule-breaking incidences, but its still something as need to work on as a community. But overall a great day despite the cold.

lol. me and scorpion... we let like 3 strikers pass into the tunnels through like a 30 yd gap of no cover, then 5 seconds later we get sprayed from behind, we turn around and see two of them peeking out of the tunnel opening waiting for us to call out... lol good times...

Onsite, we would be more than happy to assist with organizing more games. We love being able to work with others in the airsoft community, and being able to share some of the games and styles of play that we practice. Just let us know.

oldschool, I am not particularly interested in jointly hosting another event at this point, as I have already completed the planning for Combat Mission 3 (it was actually done last year). I just don't have time to actually execute it.

Great event and good job on hosting 97th Phantom. My team had a great time and this was our first event at Fran Bar. Glad everyone had a good time and to all those who asked for my help but got stuck in between games I'm sorry. I wish there were two of me at times.
It was great to finally meet the people behind the names on AO that i have had long conversations with over many things airsoft. I'd say the best part of the whole day was my surrender on Francios(Blade) in that bunker towards the end of the field. When I came around that bunker I thought he was farther back. Ended up sticking my silencer not but 5 inches from his face and yelling surrender as he was crouched on the wood slat. Frank you're eyes were so big...:D
Then of course his team comes rushing up and my gun simply stops firing...that was great..Glaken surrendering me as I stood up.
As for Dante...I know you got a lot more pics...any chance of seeing the rest?

I hate to say it, but our cameras were not cooperating with us. We planned on getting some video footage, we had our video camera, with a spare battery, both charged the night before, and when I got the camera out to use it at the event, it wouln't turn on.
After much fiddeling, and swapping batteries, I gave up and decided to just get some pics with the digital camera(low budget camera btw). Once out on the field though, it gave me some troubles too. It kept freezing up and I had to restart it. I think it must have been running off windows.:D Anyway, I did what I could, but between having a crappy camera with a crappy zoom, and being a crappy camera man, I didn't get as many (good)pics as I wanted. I actually only took pics for one game, and then gave up on the camera.
I do however have some more pics, some from when we first arrived and fran bar and started getting ready. Most of those pics are just a result of Enoch getting excited by being at fran bar. And I do have some more pics of the game, but due to things such as low zooming capabilities, I would like to attempt to edit those before I get them posted.
If regards to the fps stickers, Thanks to Wallace, those stickers were provided along with the crono that was used. So Wallace would probably be able to give you a better answer than I would.

My favorite part of the day was when i dualied my sig and nomad_666's ak47 (2nd speedball game), for a little while i felt like rambo :D too bad my sig was having selector switch problems... Oh well thats what i get for tinkering.
My second favorite moment would have to be when i was borrowing raptor_magnum50ae's g3/sg1 (the wierd team switching game) and i surrendered who i believe was inferno? Then about a minute later i got another, but i had to stick the gun on top of the guys head cause he ducked down under a window (i was inside) of course i had no plans of shooting him, i'm not that big of a jerk.
My least favorite moment was when i ran into one of the tunnel buildings and tried to surrender another guy (1st ctf game) and 3 guys popped out and mowed me over (4 guys shooting total).... that was like 5-6 feet away... yeah i wasnt giggling after that, it really hurt :(
This event was great, it was the biggest airsoft event i've been to yet! Oh yeah and a BIG THANKS goes to the guys that helped push my car (sebring lxi) out of the mud.
