Have a quick question about downgrading a upgraded AEG.

Say I want to participate in an event that has a 350FPS limit and my gun shoots at 400. My G36C has had new Systema gears, metal bushings, battery and spring installed, fuse removed, wiring altered/shortened.

So, I asked Red Wolf who did the upgrade work to keep my original parts for me when they shipped my gun and they did. So I have the original spring.

I was wondering if I could open up the gun and put in my old spring, and still be able to run it all on the same upgraded battery. The original battery which I don't have was a 8.6V? 600mAh and the new one is 9.6V 1500 mAh.

The other parts (Gears, Bushings) I understand make the gun more durable and will not affect a low powered spring adversely.

If it is indeed possible to just insert the old spring and fire away I might just keep it that way a while, as I do not like having to worry about my gun breaking cause of the upgrades... And semi-auto fire would be nice.

yep you can use the battery with the stock spring. Your going to have a wicked rate of fire.

One other thing. You make it sound like changing a spring is an easy process that anybody can do with little to no training. If you don't know what your doing have a professional do it.

Or, you could consider purchasing a Muzzle Velocity Reducer. They're around 40-50 bucks, and an huge timesaver!

Alright, well at least that's a relief knowing that if my gun breaks I have the parts available to downgrade and fix it. Are you absolutely sure that insane RoF isn't bad for the gun?

I sort of figured that putting the spring in would be a pain, but nothing that couldn't be done by your average person? Maybe there's more to it than I know about, like using the right kinds of grease, etc. ?

I have worked on and completely disassembled a .22 and a shotgun before, although I know that's kind of irrelevant because they don't have gears or springs. On the other hand I did replace an air cylinder on my Daisy spring pistol.

Also, I was wondering if I were to downgrade the gun and use the small battery (600 mAh) without the fuse in place if it would be safe (for the gun).

By the way, is there anyone in Ohio who does airsoft maintenance and repair who could possibly teach me a few things? (Professionaly or not.) as long as they don't have a record of breaking things. : )

Thanks.

I was under the impression that these didnt really work too good, and werent allowed at most of the CQB games being held on AO.
