That was a blast! Real good game, great site too! My only complaint was the slow turn around time for the games but i know how you old folks are..:D
Real nice work oldschool, looking forward to playing there again.

good game. i was misserable the whole time, but good game. i got home and shorty after i took my temp and it has crawlede up to 104 degrees. on top of that i forgot my battery at home (thanks to david and eric for letting me borrow your batteries), then, to top it all off, snipe jammed my benelli (the dreaded benelli jam) but i have fixed it mostly. whoever said it was a pain to take those things apart is full of crap. i got it apart and got all the bbs out and then i realized one of the trinozzles was bent inward. i took a lighter and melted the nozzle and reshaped it and now it is fine and the gun shoots just like new. the catch that keeps you from loading more than one shot at a time is dissabled so im gonna go back in there and fix that when i get a chance. i just had to share that with everyone. i think i liked the old site a little better, but this one was still pretty cool. i think running that drug lab scenario 3 times straight got kinda boring, but good game and organization none the less, oldschool.

mind u that when that gun jammed me and snipe were taking out the strikers :D
good game over all. i think that chrono might need to be reinforced a little more, i know it is CQB and close but some of the shots i got hit by hurt quiet a bit. senarios i would hope next time might be a little more organized. and the whole deal with respawns/restarts of games could also get better.
i think that this new building is great. there are 2 stair wells that go all the way to all the floors. unlike the old norwood building.
good game over all and i would be willing to make the hour drive any time to play at such a place like that.
i hope u got good footage frank ;) *walks back into game* ;)

Great game!
all in all it was a fun fight. the new building is awesome. but of couse like all things tehre were problems.. some of the noobs had no idea about cqb or what to do. that is why i kinda agree with the class. and after the first 5 minutes the squads got completely seperated so there was a little chaos.
the drug lab thing did kinda get old though... but it was still fun.getting to flank the stairs with p90 and shoot like 6 strikers with my beretta was fun lol. and i figured out vests are worth the money! webgear is miserable compared to them.
strikers you put up a dang good fight! for 11 on 30 you did very good lol

Thanks for a great day.
I hope that we can have another one
About frank and the camra;)
The fps was a bit of a problem when I had the metal trashcan lid and strikers thought it was fun to over shoot me. Man was it loud. Funny thing is that when I looked at the lid it was dinted. When violator shot it point blank his m4 did not dint it. Wierd. Strikers were ~50ft way and dinting it. I am puzzled  .

Hey folks, before posting any type of comments here, Strikers are actually looking for few guys that were there yesterday.
First off, there was a game in the room with us. He was wearing Desert pants and a black shirt I think. If you could email me please, I need to know few things from you ;)
Second, One guy wanted to know something but I didn't give him the answer in time. He was wearing all black clothes and said to a teammate he doesn't have internet access. He is 17yrs old . Anybody know him?

yes and with the whole non chrono thing. i don't think anyone should pin it on anyone, because noone really knew what their gun was shooting. so u can't say that it was "all the strikers" for all i know my p90 with an m100 was over the limit. don't put it all on one team

O I am not trying to. I was just making a little joke. Ya my gun was just about over th limit too. I have no complaints aginst the strikers, heck they took on all of us with no problem. Who else has the guts to do that?
I really dont know another team that is that dedicated to be able to do what they do. Sorry for the misconseption.

I think you're thinking about somebody else :p I was the one who asked you about p90killer if you remember? My stuff was in the corner of the office opposite where the waivers were signed (I was the one who gave a couple of the briefings before the games and also the one shouting "Lets go!" to get people up off their a$$es and over to the rally area for the briefing).
To answer the question regarding chronos, the reason nobody got chronoed was because we didn't realize that the fluorescent lighting inside would affect the chrono, and it did. You couldn't get an accurate read. By the time we figured this out, we had not designated an area outside for gun chronoing, so the parking lot was full with no place to shoot (sunlight needed!). The next game expect the 350 rule to be fully enforced. Some people also showed up with .25 bbs - next game make sure you bring ONLY .20s!
This was the first game at this building, so now that we know how it played, we can start developing some better game scenarios. I imagine oldschool already has some ideas.
Overall it was a pretty fun game. Good games to the strikers who were faced with 3 to 1 odds but still managed to win a few of the games. As always it was fun to team up with oldschool, and good times playing with Bullfrog, Bell and a few of the others. Hope to see you guys at the next game.

I'd like to thank Oldschool for finding such a great facility for some intense CQB and DE gaming.
I'd like to see a show of hands here.
Who now understands just how much of a nightmare stairways can be to assault?
Nasty, eh?
Even with 'Top-Down' being the prefered method, the stairway 'drill' is never a fun prospect to conquer...er, attempt to conquer.
As most of everyone found out, working in stairways requires tenacity, precision, absolute cooperation among your team and stone-weight cajones.
Everyone that played should also appreciate just how difficult entering a room or area can be if it's defended well.
You better believe that when it was our turn to assault the stairs to 'attempt' entry of rooms we knew we were in for a fight.
You guys did great at defending those areas and wiping us out at the 'fatal-funnels'.
I hope everyone that played became aware just how important teamwork is and how effective a coordinated effort can be when playing airsoft. 'Lone wolves' don't last long in this environment.
I say this in the hope that you'll understand why the games that Blade organizes emphasize teamwork.
I had a great time and hope everyone else did too.
I would like to refute any notion that the Strikers were using weapons that would have chrono'd higher than 350 fps.
We practice CQB type engagements and keep less than 350fps weapons specially for that purpose. We don't change springs for CQB games, we have <350fps guns for that purpose.
I use a completely stock gun, ie: 265fps. Most of the others are 300fps or less.
I don't generally like to debate, in the forums, concerning things like this as I feel it's not fruitful or professional, but this time I take the exception.
We are very concerned about the safety aspect of this game and take every precaution to maintain and enhance safety.
OldSchool,
Keep up the good work, buddy.
We'll keep coming back for more.

thanx gleaken as you stated if the guys would have worked as a team no room would be safe fore anyone, when i had them charge the room on the last game they seen that they could get there from here also when i lead the charge in the back stairs guess what . i know that you guys train together all the time , as i train with local swat team on their time and have learned a lot in the past year.i want to see this sport grow and really think AO should look in to having everyone take a safty class to make this sport become big. thanx oldschool

I knew going to this event that it was just going to be a good shoot fest. All in all it was a fun time. Nice place to play. The stairway was interesting. Alot of cheating, but, I'm not pointing fingers. Now, I must address the "Hot Gun" issue. Strikers have weapons for indoor use only which comply with the 350 FPS rule, hell, I'd say half the Strikers there were shooting stock guns. (Hydro, Rodent, ........the ones supposed to be denting trash can lids. LOL, give me a break.) And as for me well, my M249 chrono'd at 340 the morning of the event at Hardlock's secret gun shop. So, I suggest some of you check your own weapons before pointing fingers, oh, and, brush up on CQB fighting, so next time we don't have to shout instructions to you guys on how to clear rooms and stairways. ;) Anyway, thanks Oldschool.:D

I would like to thank old school for finding the facility and having this event. Half the fun was sorting through the junk on the top floor. I have had cabin fever and was jonesing for some trigger time.
Usually CQB isn't designed for 30 against 11. That's more like a video game rather than reality. I'm not complaining, just making an observation. As for the young guy who came through with the trash can lid...that was damn funny but there is no possible way that lid could have been dinted with the gun I was shooting. BONE STOCK It all goes back to what the previous Strikers posts said. I have 4 guns just because I don't want to have to rebuild one everytime the venue or fps limit changes. Hopefully we can stop the myths and rumors about bad sportsmanship by Strikers. I came up against several hot guns throughout the day - such is life. I personally don't care but rules are rules. Safety is the only way we are going to be able to further our hobby. Most of you young guys don't understand the full wrath of politics on guns and gun owners. There are already a couple of states that have banned airsoft gun sales. If you like as much as I do, DON'T F&*@ IT UP!!!
I have to make a public apology to the guy (whom ever he was) I lost my temper with during the last game. I'm not accepting all the blame here so read carefully. Your crewcam through and shot me. Fair game - I'm dead. But when I'm standing there leaning against the wall with my hands on my head and over my mouth, PLEASE don't shoot me another 15 to 20 times. I know people get excited and a lot of you take great pride in killing Strikers. That's great! I probably wouldn't have cared as much if it didn't hurt so damn bad. We also have to exercise control and I should not have used profanity. Sorry to everyone.
I would to congratulate my team on a job well done. 11 vs 30 No problem:D .

SAFETY ISSUES, HOT GUNS, STRIKERS.
Just to throw in for public domain knowledge, I have two weapons (everyone on strikers seems to have two or more primary weapons as well, each with its own dedicated purpose, field or CQB).
One, my MP5, is totally stock, with only accessory modifications (gun camera, tac light, sling, rail system) and a slightly larger battery. This is used for CQB engagements, and of course, always chronos around 270fps with .20s. My other weapon, an M4A1, has been upgraded and is used solely for field work and long distance engagements. Yet it too, is still, only 350fps with .20s. In the past year and several months I have exclusively used only my stock MP5 for enagagements both on field and in CQB because it has enough range and accuracy for me to be happy with results, without the added risk of injury to my fellow players that an upgraded gun represents.
I do resent the implication that strikers take unneccessary safety risks and use hot weapons. I have NEVER done this, and we all make sure our weapons are checked regularly and are safe. We are extremely hard on each other within the team structure to make sure safety is top priority. Especially with all the gossip running rampant on the boards about our team and "hot guns". You wouldn't believe how many shots we pass up on a regular basis due to safety concerns for others. Safety violations are a good way to get in big trouble within the ranks of our team, and flagrant safety violations by a Striker or unneccessary risk of injury to others (be it to teamates or not) are grounds for expulsion from the Strikers. We are a very publicly known team, from Boston to Los Angeles, and many places in between. As such, we know we are in the spotlight and people look to us in many cases to decide how to pattern their own behaviors in the game and in the staging area. We are organizers of multi state events, and attendees at many out of state events. We know people watch us, we know people learn from us, we know people like to kill us.
So, knowing that everyone knows us, knowing that everyone loves to shoot us, knowing that everyone watches us, and knowing that the reason we are well known is for our honorable playing style and tactics, why on EARTH would we throw it all away or jeapordize it by committing unsafe acts that could be potentially injurious to other players? Just think that through a bit. Why would such a public entity and such a well known pro-airsoft team who has been featured on DVDs and in magazine articles and the like do something so stupid? We represent the airsofters of ohio, and because of our national status, we represent the airsoft world as well. Lesser known teams that don't get out there much still affect the way the public percieves airsoft, don't get me wrong. But the teams with a lot of notoriety and publicity, like Hatchet Force, the Cimmerians, and the Strikers, to name a few, are constantly in the public eye, and constantly under scrutiny. If we do something stupid, everyone knows about it, and it can be VERY bad for airsofters everywhere. We know we're being watched, we know the responsibilities on our shoulders. We know we need to be good examples for how airsoft SHOULD be handled and played.
At any time anyone chooses to, you can come over and check my weapon. I have zero problem with this, and would much rather have this done than face accusations after the fact that are unfounded and unproveable, and are just plain wrong. These kind of statements serve to injure reputation and injure public perception of airsoft as an event in general. These are public boards. Anti airsoft people and anti gun people are reading this stuff, just looking for examples and excuses to help them in their cause to shut down airsoft, paintball, and all other firearms related activities. If you doubt this at all, you are living with your head in a hole in the ground. This is a very well known site. Moms come here to figure out if they should let their kids into this sport. Lawyers come here looking for examples of patterns of safety violations to use in court. Law Enforcement and Military people come here looking to see if this is a sport that honors them or embarasses them or poses risk to the general public. What kind of conduct do you think should be portrayed here? What kind of conduct do you think the teams need to have on and off the field?
If there is a problem, talk to us. We're not evil meanies that are going to chew your head off and spit it out if you look at us the wrong way. We're not gonna bite you or embarass you or make a big deal out of it if you have questions or concerns. If you think a gun is hot, ask to have it checked. I think I can safely say each and every single one of us would rather you ask us and have our weapons checked right there and then in front of you, because we all know our guns are fine, then face ambiguous charges afterward that are impossible to prove to deny. This stuff only serves to unfairly taint the image of our team and portray all of us airsofters in a negative manner. Especially when we go to extraordinary lengths AND COSTS to make sure such situations do not develop.
We all routinely check out our guns, and we all routinely engage each other with these guns, without face protection (goggles only), at point blank range in our training facilities. We know very well the damage levels our guns can inflict on each other. We all know our guns are good because we routinely shoot each other with them from ten feet away, at the skin, and we chrono them all the time. Our team owns several chronoing devices.
So please, pass this along to everyone, make sure everyone reads it and understands this. This is a situation that really needs to be handled. We cannot continue with this petty squabbling and such trivial off hand comments about weapons denting metal, or reckless disregard for safety, even if only in a joking manner. Its not fair to myself, to my team, or to the airsofting world we ALL respresent when we are out there.
Strikers have even gone so far as to procure, at their own out of pocket cost, medical gear and equipment to field treat injuries as they happen to help further promote the well being of all people involved in the sport. We have emergency medically trained people in the field, and we have field treated several injuries, from skin avulsions to broken bones in the past, most often not even at our own hosted events!! We never ask to be paid back for our services, or even thanked for them. And we replace our supplies that we willing use and give away, at our own cost. We provide this first responder care as a courtesy to help PROMOTE the safety of the sport and the well being of everyone involved. We coordinate with local EMS services and fire crews. We map out extraction points with EMS. We go to great lengths to keep people safe out there. We do many things that go unknown to the general public attending our events.
Doesn't it seem a little counter productive and counter intuitive to use weapons that may cause injury when we supply medical gear at our own expense? Why would I want to use a weapon that could cost me money and supplies to heal people it hurts everytime I use it? Just from a financial standpoint alone it doesn't make any sense.
I hope this helps change the public perception of my team, or at least maybe opens a few eyes as to the dedication we have to promoting this sport and its safety. We even harp on other people about safety issues at events we don't even organize!
If there are concerns or questions, please contact me directly (peppycadet@aol.com subject: Strikers), or just talk to us when you see us.
But please, enough with the after-the-fact hot gun comments and safety issues. Its insulting after everything we've done.
Thank you.

Well I had a good time even though I had to leave at 1:45.
I never noticed any hot guns at anytime. I got hit close range (almost point blank) a couple of times, and yeah it hurt, but the guns were defenetly not "hot". I don't think people realize how much stock and lightly upgraded guns feel in a cqb environment, it hurts. People somtimes rush to conclusions saying certain people or teams have hot guns when they are getting their butts kicked. Its almost like an excuse that some people use when they are loosing. I've experienced this on a couple of occasions. Kudos to the Strikers for being good sports and taking on 30 people. I had fun. Can't wait for the next one Oldschool.

That was alot of fun and I look foreward to playing there agian. I am NEVER going to EVER jump down a flight of stairs agian. My legs hurt soooooooooooooo bad right now. I need to get out and exercise more. It was also nice when on the last game, the hostage rescue, that my teammates closed the door behind me when I went into the room. I thought everyone would follow but when I got out I was walking out and the door was shut and my teammates opened it and shot me 3 more times. It didn't hurt but that sucked not having anyone getting my back. Also as for hot guns, so what, it was still fun as long as it wasn't point blank. Anyways I can't wait to play their agian oldschool. Great game.
Really nice place for airsoft. I always enjoy the drug lab scenerio. Next time I'll bring some flour and bags; maybe some lawn clippings. Would have been fun to try and escape with the drugs or try to finish a drug deal without, making the other guy think you called the cops.
I think the people that say the striker guns were too hot have that impression because they had to be shot sooooo many times. I was shot by glaekan(exploded the guy in front of me with a 203) and aegis and pretty much shot at by most of the others
Watch the FF too guys.... FF includes shutting the door on a persons head.
Nice place and a fun first event there. If you need refs for next game i don't mind taking half the day out or playing a special role to help you.
I'm sure you have a lot of plans for the future OLD

ok thanx for clearing up the hot guns, now on to good thoughts i have played in different city as well against well trained players and learned a lot also i work in the enforcement part time which i learn a ton of new moves.for all you young guys to cqb you will loose men as you enter a room and this what has to be done to get to the bad guys.strikers did take on 30 of you guys and my hats off to them, but learn to over power the room and 30 on 11 becomes a large disavantage to the 11 people in the room. cqb is what it is close action not like woodland where you see someone at a distance, strikers do take a hard punch from everyone and to kill a striker is bragging rights, so my words to you is train in a more pro manner and you will get better. also i would like to say to the people that turned over stuff in the stairways DONT BECAUSE it is there for a reason other than cover, if you are being shot at move to stationed cover. thanx to all for a great day oldschool

With my issues addressed, I can relax now. ;)
Geno, man, I wish I had a camera with me. I would have had some AWESOME shots of you guys flooding into the rooms we occupied. It was trippy when you guys hit us with a good, hard, non-stop flow and it was just oodles of you pouring in the room like water from a broken dam. That was something to see from my side, let me tell you. :) Precious memories and thoughts of "HOLY CRA*!"
I don't know how many people had cameras or videos devices and used them, and of those people, I have no idea how much footage actually turned out to be useful (it was fairly dark for good footage), but I would love to see whatever people got. I just wish you guys had a chance to see things from our perspective. I've never seen that many people come flowing at once before. It was neat. :D
Alright, I'm out for now. My thanks to Oldschool for putting this together, that was a trippy building to play in. :)

Now that all of the melodramatics are out of the way.....
I'm glad everyone has something to take home with them from this event. I liked when the young guys took the M203 like men. Hats off.
Here is a thought. Maybe we should have two different teams with the sam goal (i.e. taking the drug lab) one would be an opposing faction and the other DEA. That way the battles will be spread out somewhat and 30 or so guys aren't chomping at the bit to kill the same guy.
Lots of fun guys. Can't wait to do it again.

Sounds like we have some unfinished business.
I must say that I too was getting a little cabin fever and it was definitely good getting some trigger time. I found out later that the building we where in dates back during WW2. They couldn't implode the thing if the tried. I really feel that this was a practice session and we worked out some of the kinks. I think that we need a good scenario which might entail each team to having a stairwell and fighting on a north south parallel. I really feel that some good fire fights could have broke out in those open floors if any cannon fodder would have made it through the meat grinders we called doorways. Maybe a sweep and ambush with smaller numbers might have worked. I am definitely in for another. It is just that the Para SAW(?) gave me a little post-traumatic stress. hehe!
Carry On!

D-boy - It is big of you to come clean. Obviously the trash can lid could have been dented *before* you picked it up.
It is also big of the Strikers not to blow-up at the implied accusation, but rather comment intelligently and professionally.
Kudos to both groups.
As for the game - thanks for getting it together Oldschool & Company. Too bad I had to leave early. I'm looking forward to more games there, as well as some training sessions.

Hey oldschool, i know that all members of my team that were present enjoyed the game but i believe it would have been 10x better if we had any idea on cqb tactics before the games had started. I know i would enjoy, and probably the rest of my team too, some instructions possibly before the next event. We got owned enough times to realize our team's shortcomings fairly fast...
And another comment about the event is that I think it would have been neat to have switched up the teams just a little, maybe so some of us could have learned from the strikers by being with them and not being shot by them. Just a thought.
thanks

I will agree with sniper monkey by saying that the games could much improve if teams were mixed up. Im not suggesting that we break up regular teams such as the strikers, but instead at more people to their side in a senario. I say this because it is fun and all to shoot and be shot at by strikers, but that limits the different options we have to play with when one team insists on being alone. But other than that i would just like to say thanks old school for putting these on, and keep up the good work everyone.

Oldschool, what are the rules considering "rubber bullets" that go on grenade shells in like an m203.
david90
02-16-2005, 06:35 PM
Yes, but you could lob it into rooms that would otherwise be impossible to take.
hydroponicstylee
02-16-2005, 07:46 PM
theres no "lobbing" one of those rubber bullets into a room lol, i dont think you realize the power behind one of those rubber slugs, i own a gbtech slug grenade and would only recommend using it for fixed positions(ammo dump ect.) or technicals. Besides throwing a grenade in a room takes the fun out of clearing it , and there is no room impossible to take, well unless its being guarded by evil canadian squirrels, those things are f**kers!
david90
02-16-2005, 09:26 PM
You know that room with the little window? I didn't see anybody take that room. But there were some cracked nuts on the floor..... Seriously, would hfc134-a make the grenades useable?
Personally I haven't seen any "rubber" slugs shot, but I know at Irene II, this past year, I was entering the back of one of the living houses, and some guy decided to shoot one of those nerf footballs out of his M203 toward me from about 10-15 feet away. Luckily it hit the door frame of his room and glanced down the hallway, but it SPLINTERED the wood door frame and chards of wood flew everywhere.
I suggest anyone even thinking about firing one of those things indoors, DO NOT do it, unless you want someone elses serious injury on your hands.
They may be foam, and seem soft and cushy, but coming at that velocity, everything seems harder.
Safety sake, take the time to try to clear a room, and keep the "mass" clearing objects at home.

What a great place!!! Hats off to you, Oldschool!
I have to say, playing the hostage was pretty fun. It has been awhile since I have been involved in a game. (I am currently unable to play due to medical reasons) It was pretty cool to see all those players come bursting in there to rescue their hostage. Of course, I was shot and killed, but hey, we had fun right? One note to people rescuing- no matter who you are: Make sure you know what your hostage looks like before the game to prevent killing her/him. I can tell you it was no fun being blasted by BB's with little protection. I can see why one would think some of the guns were hot. In CQB, up close and personal, it hurts. Let's not blame anyone here, gentlemen. Close is pain. Plain and simple.
I can also say, as a member of the Strikers, Aegis hit the nail on the head with his post. I have been to just about every game played by my team and played along side them. I can tell you this much: I watch my team mates chrono their guns, discuss safety perameters, and DOUBLECHECK all their gear. That includes the FPS. I see them chrono at least 3-4 times to be sure they are playing within the bounds of the rules set up. They even talk among themselves about the rules and all of the necessary safety issues for the games. I should know, I wear the same team emblem they do and am one of those members following those guidelines we set up for ourselves, just for this reason right here. TO BE EXAMPLES.
As Strikers, we spend a lot of our time making sure we are examples of what I would want my son to be involved in if he chose to have this as a hobby. If I walked onto a field and saw that sort of preparation in a team, I would not doubt for a minute that this is a game of safety, professionalism, and unit integrity that I would want my son to learn from.
Hats of to my team! I am proud to be a part of that example. In 5 years when my son can play, I will know he learned from one of the most professional teams in this sport.
Now that I have said my piece, I can say this: When is the next one?
:D

notabob, they just took it EZ and dissapeared :D
Seriously though, some of their members joined other teams, while others moved out of state. for the remaining, they just had a too busy schedule to keep living as a team.....but hey, it is only what I heard, Wallace would be in better place to tell you the whole story.
