Hello my Ohio Airsofters! I've come to you lads for some assistance on even that I am helping with. Here are some stipulations:
Hawaiian Airsofters like to shoot a lot.
Hawaiian Airsofters aren't much for 'objectives.'
Anywhere from 40-70 people.
Could you suggest any scenarios or ideas with these guidelines to help me out? We are trying to go along the lines of Milsim. I really appreciate your help!
Also, after I visit the field, I will add additional information about said field.

Isn't that kind of an oxymoron? You like to shoot a lot but you want milsim and don't like objectives. Regardless here is something, have everyone use standard mags with real steel loadouts. That is an M16 varient will have 30 rounds and the MP5s will have 19. Since you aren't much for objectives, run a paintsoft game where you just kill each other off.

I agree on some points. Mil-sim tends to take the emphasis off of shooting and emphasizes field craft and a more realistic experience. Limiting ammunition loadouts helps to emphasize accuracy and tactical movement. If your target group is used to only shooting, perhaps jumping right into mil-sim would be too drastic a jump.
I would start out by having games of midcaps and standards only to get the players used to the idea of carrying a set amount of ammunition while making them have to change magazines.
Perhaps setting a limit on the number of mid caps players can carry and possibly reward usew of locaps by allowing people to carry unlimited number of locaps.
This is your event you are trying to get together. So just make sure everyone knows what your rules will be. Post your ideas on the Airsoft Hawaii boards, as several of them may have their own feedback that would be far more helpful.

Thank you for your replies. But a couple of things....
Personally, I don't shoot a whole lot, and I love objectives, but I have been tasked to assist in making of this event. It is an attempt to get Hawaiian airsofters into the realm of milsim. These are some of the...limitations that I am working with. Also, this is a general scope of the populus represented here and how they play. That is to say, not all Hawaiian airsofters play in this fashion, but we want to make this event enjoyable for all who would attend.
I do believe stadards and mid-caps will be the loadout, with hi-caps possibly authorized to those playing support roles.
But any ideas along the lines as actual scenario's that could take place? As far as searching the Hawaiian boards, they don't delve too deeply into milsim, which is why I went back to my hometown's board to search for help. I've come up with a scenario that is still in the works, but my fear is that it might be too objective intense for the guests tastes...

Sorry for the late response. I believe we're playing somewhere around Wahiawa. I also like to play at Poweredge games, as they have a decent CQB field. Have you been there? If you'd like to get some games together that'd be great. I know some Marines from Kaneohe whom I will be playing with soon, so lemme know if you're interested...
